PATRICK CASSERLY President and CEO, PCR Nearshore Patrick Casserly is the President and CEO of PCR Nearshore, a Dallas,Texas based BPO enterprise. He is the founder of e-Services Group International, the largest independent nearshore solutions provider in the Western hemisphere. He is widely recognized as the industry leader and authority on nearshore informatics in the region.

In July 1997, Mirand Response Systems, a Montego bay based Texas back office processing company, recruited him as an Account Manager. In April of the following year, he became Managing Director and later became the first non-American national to be named Vice President of National Processing Company, Louisville, KY based.

NPC is a division of NCC a Fortune 500 company.

A Jamaican National, Patrick grew up in Kingston attending Campion College and spent his college years at the University of North Carolina graduating with a Bachelor in Economics and was named the Reiner Fellow in Political Economics. While still in school he worked as a salesman with New Era Computers in Asheville, North Carolina and upon graduation became the Operations Manager of the Regional AutoDesk distributor. This provided him with a unique viewpoint of American business practices that he would later bring back to Jamaica.

In 2000, Patrick, along with three US-based partners, founded e-Services Group International, with back office processing for one client and a staff of 35. This evolved into the largest English-language Nearshore BPO solutions company.

With a staff of over 4000 in Montego Bay, Kingston and St. Lucia, e-Services was one of the largest employers in Jamaica, the single largest employer in Western Jamaica and the employer of choice in Montego Bay. Patrick was able to negotiate contracts with US fortune 500 companies such as United Health Group, Wellpoint, Delta Airlines and Returning home in mid 1995, Patrick became Xerox.

ANDREW GORDON Principal Consultant, Gomex Technologies Andrew L.S. Gordon is currently the Director of Gomex Institute of Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Technology (with First Class Honors) from the University of Technology, Jamaica, a Master of Science in Information Technology Security (with Distinction) from the University of Westminster, London. In 2009 Andrew was selected as a Fulbright Scholar and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Southern Illinois, Carbondale. His research, under the supervision of Dr. Shahram Rahimi focuses on applying soft computing (artificial intelligence) to Information Security.

Andrew is a Certified Information Security Manager, an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, an EnCase Certified Examiner, a Computer

Hacking Forensics Investigator, a Certified Technical Trainer and an EC-Council Certified Instructor. He has completed over 300 hours of Computer Forensics, Electronic Discovery and Fraud Examination training.

Andrew currently consults with Government and Law Enforcement agencies in Jamaica and the English speaking Caribbean as well as Puerto Rico.

Andrew is an Information Security consultant and trainer who conducts classes on Information Security Audits, Information Security Governance, Ethical Hacking and Computer Forensics, and Computer Fraud Examination. He has conducted training in Curacao, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago as well as in Jamaica to Law Enforcement Agencies, Corporate, and Government departments.

SHAWN MCLEAN Software Engineer, MC Systems Shawn Mclean is a Software Engineer at Management Control Systems, the largest IT Company in Jamaica with a focus in Enterprise Software Development Services.

He is a Co-founder of Grikly, a start-up aiming to fix the pain of planning Events and providing seamless Networking Services.

Shawn grew up in Jamaica, wrote his first program at age 9 shortly after receiving his first computer. Shawn completed his BSc. in Computer Science at Northern Caribbean University in 2010. During his time at NCU, he has won the Gold medal for the World Skills Jamaica Web Design competition where he went on to win the Best of Nations Award at World Skills International in Calgary 2009. In that same year his team was first place in Jamaica, Caribbean and the Multi-Country Americas rounds for the Imagine Cup 2009 Software Design competition, which then went on to represent Jamaica at the finals in Egypt.

In 2010, his team Xormis won the Microsoft Imagine Cup Interoperability Award finals in Poland.

As a frequent contributor to the Open Source Community, he coordinates projects in the area of Password Security, Transactional Mail services and contributing to projects such as ASP.NET MVC. If you use the internet, chances are that you have executed code written by Shawn.

Shawn published his first book in April, 2013, “Instant .NET 4.5 Extension Methods How-to�, which guides .NET developers on using the C# feature; Extension Methods.

Shawn became a part of the Visual Studio ALM Rangers, a group made up of people from the Visual Studio Team and Passionate Experts from the community to provide guidance and out of band tooling for the Visual Studio ALM ecosystem. Most of their work is improves the Software Development Processes such as team processes, code, testing and deployments.

KNOLLY MOSES CEO, PanMedia Knolly Moses is a writer, editor and media strategist with more than 40 years old and new experience in

the Caribbean and New York. He has particular expertise in digital media, online marketing strategy,

and content development. As CEO of Panmedia, he leads a group of young professionals who have become market leaders in social media marketing, web and mobile app development, and Facebook games.

Newsday, and the following magazines: Elle, Family Circle, Essence, Emerge, the Nature Conservancy and The Root, an online magazine owned by the Washington Post.

Locally, he has written for the Gleaner, the Observer and Jamaica Journal.

CARLTON SAMUELS International Consultant Carlton is an adjunct in the Department of Library and Information Studies, the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the UWI, Mona and works principally as an international consultant in the areas of governance and information and communication technologies in development focused on business strategy development, ICT policy development, business process re-engineering and ICTs in education. He’s formerly the Chief Information Officer & University Director of IT at The University of the West Indies.

Carlton has an extensive portfolio of work in the areas of Organizational Transformation by governance reform harnessing knowledge, information and communications, regulatory reform, ICTs in education and Internet Governance. He is heavily involved in Internet Names and Numbers policy development, serving concurrently as Chair of the WHOIS Working Group and was appointed member of the Expert Working Group (EWG) charged by the Board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to advise a next generation registration data services for the Internet. He is serving his

second term as Vice-Chair of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) of ICANN, is a foundation member and the inaugural Secretary for the Latin America and Caribbean Regional At-Large Advisory Organization (LACRALO) of ICANN and an Advisory Board member for the Microsoft Partners in Learning initiative. He is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Jamaica Library and Information Network (JAMLIN) in Jamaica, a member of ICT4D Jamaica and the Board Committee for ICT Governance

for both HEART/NTA and the Scientific Research Council (SRC).

Carlton has undergraduate and graduate degrees and diplomas from The University of the West Indies, George Mason University, MIT and UC Berkeley, respectively. His industry experience covers telecommunications, financial services, strategic management consulting, higher education and technology service delivery.

LEONARD WADEWITZ Regional Manager (Latin America), CompTIA Leonard Wadewitz is the Regional Manager, Business Development, Latin America and the Caribbean for CompTIA, the voice of the world's information technology industry. As a non-profit trade association advancing the global interests of IT professionals and companies, CompTIA focuses its programs on four main areas: education, certification, advocacy and philanthropy. Leonard is responsible for leading strategy, development, and growth efforts for the association in the region.

CARAY MCKENZIE IT Manager, Global Gateway Solutions Caray McKenzie is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (Security), Cisco Certified Network Associate, and is CompTIA Security+ certified. Additionally, he has a wealth of experience gained from through years of working in the field of computing.

LEROY BRYAN Technical Services Manager, Innovative Corporate Solutions Leroy Bryan is a technologically savvy and innovative engineering manager who puts the fun in learning ICT and delivering service

excellence to his customers. Leroy holds a BSc in Management Information Systems from Excelsior Community College and has over ten years’ experience in the ICT industry working with a wide variety of software

solutions. Leroy has worked on a number of major projects implementing Voice over IP Solutions, and IBM Based Solutions, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Messaging Infrastructure and being MCSA certified, Leroy has in depth knowledge on these platforms. He is also A+ certified and has extensive experience in LAN Networking, Wireless and Wired. He has been involved in many large PC migration and roll out projects across the island with the most recent being the ongoing eLearning Tablet in School Project.

An integral member of the Management Team of Innovative Corporate Solutions Limited (ICSL), he has responsibility for the Services Department to include recruitment, performance management, project management oversight, troubleshooting,

solution design and implementation. His level of expertise continues to grow the technical side of the business providing team members with knowledge and experience in designing and implementing technology solutions to improve business processes of their clients.

DEAN SMITH President, Jamaica Computer Society Dean M Smith is the current President (20122014) of the Jamaica Computer Society (JCS) and has held senior positions in both the Private and Public sectors over the 30 years he has been in the ICT Industry.

Dean holds Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering as well as Computing and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

He is currently a PhD student (PhD in Business Education) as well as a lecturer and IT Consultant.

His main professional and research interests include data mining and metrics on the

impact of IT in enterprises. Dean holds several professional awards and certifications.

He is married and is father to three.

ANDREW HENRY Director, Smart Data Automation Ltd. Andrew Henry is currently a Business Intelligence Consultant at LIME, Jamaica, who has over fourteen (14) years’ experience in Programming, Automation and Business Intelligence. An ambitious enterpriser, he is the Director and Founder of Smart Data Automation Limited and Linkup for Christ Ministries.

Andrew grew up in Mandeville, Manchester and proudly accredits a great deal of his success to his fundamental Alma Maters, Mandeville All-Age School and Holmwood Technical High. He has completed his BSc. Degree in Computing and Management Studies at the University of Technology and a Graduate Degree in Computer Based

Management Information Systems (MSc. CBMIS) at the University Of the West Indies.

Andrew has always been desirous of being a devoted family man and this desire came to fruition when he married Sabena DuncanHenry. The union produced their two wonderful children, Jaiden and Jonathon Henry. In addition to being family oriented, Andrew likes to play football and youth development.

Over the years, Andrew has embraced the core values of honour and service as taught to him by his Great Grandmother. These values continue to positively influence his spiritual growth in Christianity, educational and secular achievements.

WENTWORTH KELLY Graphic Artist, NCU Media Group Wentworth Kelly, Jr. was born in the parish of St. Ann, where he attended the Moneague Primary school, Ferncourt High School, and Moneague College, where he studied Management Information Systems.

In 2006 he began his studies at Northern Caribbean University where he pursued a degree in Mass Communication. Three years later he was hired as a full time Graphic Artist for the NCU Media Group where he currently

works.

He is a freelance web developer/interface designer and who also does interface and graphic consultation for several websites including the NCU Media Group’s website.

He is also the co-founder of a multimedia production company named iKon Media Group, where he practices his other skills as a filmmaker, colorist, and photographer.

ANDREW SAMUELS Senior IT Specialist Trainer, Mona High School A graduate from the University of Technology, Jamaica, Andrew has for the last 17 years made significant contribution to the development of Information Technology education in Jamaica at the secondary level. The Moderator of the Information Technology School Initiative (ITSI), teachers share materials and resources as well as contribute to personal and professional development seminars/workshops geared at improving examination performance by students in CXC. Currently, the Senior Information Technology Specialist Trainer at Mona High School, Andrew worked tirelessly to introduce CXC CAPE Digital Media for 2013/14 and created quite a stir in using a different modality of learning in delivery of this new next

generation course. Personal mantra, “If at first you don’t succeed, never give up on your dreams as hard work reaps success”.

He is currently the President of the Kiwanis Club of CyberConnect Jamaica where he donates countless hours to improve the quality of life for the children of Jamaica and the wider community.

Andrew received training in Japan under the Bilateral Agreement with Jamaica in Japan International Cooperation Programme for Information Technology Engineering where he majored in Online/E-Education and Digital Graphics. He is currently a resource trainer in Moodle ® Learning Management System which allows many courses to be delivered at the secondary level using blended learning educational strategies.

SPARK is a Software/Application Design Competition. The objective of this competition is to have young developers enrolled in high-school and tertiary level institutions; create innovative and original software applications; to address different areas of Vision 2030 Jamaica. As stated in the Vision 2030 plan, Information & Communications Technology is seen as an enabler of all other sectors, including economic, social, environmental, and governance sectors.

APPYLEARNING, Team Wimeki AppyLearning is a mobile software/ application that encourages students to learn in school. Firstly, the application will assist visually impaired students to receive notes and questions from their teachers through document sharing, text to speech and voice recognition. FINALISTS C2G, Team AXIS C2G is an application that has the potential of helping Jamaica achieve its goals for Vision 2030. It seeks to solve the problem that has lead Jamaica to its current situation— lack of communication. It is geared at providing a central communication connection between the government and the people. C2G will be able to distribute incessant information in Crime, Health, Education and Environmental issues. One of the primary concerns of the application is to provide information to the people and also

AWARE, Team Madjua AWARE is an android phone and web-based application that provides the user with real-time information related to noncommunicable diseases and factors which may impact or trigger their disease. This will include information about areas where they may be living, planning to visit, or driving through; provide a brief history of the area; use location services to find places such as health centres, hospitals or

other businesses; and relevant authorities or citizens will be able to provide updates on environmental conditions, weather, disaster or accidents.
