CIS had the pleasure of supporting 40 Leadenhall and the NHS Blood and Transplant, on a blood type awareness initiative. The initiative gave people the opportunity to understand their blood group, test for diabetes and register as blood donors, offering invaluable knowledge and awareness. Andrew Gough, Head of Security, stated: “Thank you to NHS Blood and Transplant for partnering with us at 40 Leadenhall for such a meaningful event. It’s inspiring to see what can be achieved when organisations come together to support such an important cause. We’re proud to have provided a space for colleagues and our occupiers to learn more about blood donation and take action, and we look forward to continuing to support initiatives that create a lasting positive impact.”

Josephine Adeleke, Marketing Coordinator, NHS Blood and Transplant, stated: “Supporting business partnerships like our event at 40 Leadenhall London demonstrates the incredible impact that organisations can have when they make space for blood donation awareness. Every conversation, registration and appointment booked brings us one step closer to ensuring patients receive the lifesaving blood they need. It was inspiring to see colleagues come together with such enthusiasm, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make the event a success.” Thank you to everyone who took part, donating blood is one of the most meaningful contributions any of us can make. It requires only a short moment of our time, yet it has the potential to save or significantly improve lives of people in urgent need. Click on the link below to donate. Every donation counts and could give a lifeline to someone in need: https://lnkd.in/dQ2tiAs

We were proud to recognise and celebrate the dedication and unwavering commitment of Security Professionals across CIS Security and the wider industry. Security is so much more than what people see. It is built on trust, vigilance, empathy, and resilience. Whether supporting vulnerable individuals, helping colleagues and customers, preventing incidents, or responding in times of crisis, these professionals make a difference every single day. To our teams across CIS Security, and to Security Professionals throughout the industry, thank you for your service. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and today we celebrate the vital role you play, day after day. Let’s celebrate all those across our industry... Tag a colleague or security professional in the comments and tell us why they are amazing. Whether they’ve delivered exceptional service, supported your team, or consistently gone above and beyond, let’s recognise the people making a real difference and celebrate the positive impact they have on those around them. We are incredibly proud of you. Thank you.

On Friday 24 July, we had the pleasure of attending The City Security Council (CSC) Frontline Awards. Held on International Security Officers’ Day, the event marked a significant milestone as CSC celebrated its very first Frontline Awards ceremony. CIS would like to thank the CSC and all its member companies and sponsors for recognising our amazing frontline colleagues and teams. A huge well done to Lee Davison and Thomas Frimpong on their amazing achievement. Category: Community & Culture - Ambassador for Industry. Lee Davison WINNER. Nomination: Lee Davison is a truly deserving nominee for the Ambassador for Industry Award, exemplifying how a security professional can transcend the boundaries of a traditional role to embody the highest values of compassion, leadership, and community engagement. Over the past four years, Lee has consistently demonstrated a commitment to service that reflects not only pride in his profession but also a deep understanding of the role security professionals can play in supporting and uplifting the most vulnerable in society. Category - Operational Excellence - Heroic Act/Action in Crisis. Thomas Frimpong - HIGHLY COMMENDED

Nomination: Security Officer Thomas Frimpong is a truly deserving nominee for the Heroic Act / Action in Crisis award, having demonstrated exceptional bravery, composure, and life-saving initiative during a critical incident at Glebelands in Hackney. His actions exemplify the vital role security officers play in safeguarding not only property, but human life, and highlight the profound impact a single individual can have in a high-pressure situation.

CUSTOMER PARTNERSHIP SPORTS DAY! Our colleagues came together for an action-packed Sports Day to recognise and celebrate International Security Officers’ Day. The event was filled with teamwork, friendly competition, and lots of laughter. It was a chance to celebrate the incredible work our people do every day. Our Account Director, Paul Stringer, shares: “It was a real success with everyone having fun. All colleagues attending received a shirt and medal, and the winners received a trophy. It was fantastic to celebrate the hard work and dedication our colleagues have for the roles they do in keeping us safe throughout London.” A huge congratulations to all who took part, and a special thank you to our event sponsors.

CIS was proud to support an event that continues to spotlight the contributions of women who go above and beyond every day, often in challenging environments, to keep people and places safe. We were especially proud to cheer on our very own finalists, Samantha English, CCTV Controller, Tanya Mason, Security Officer, and Chiara Lobo, Response Security Officer, consistently going above and beyond in their roles and making a significant contribution to public safety and the wider security profession. Runa Begum, Account Support Manager, shares:

“It was fantastic to see women from across our business, including Operations, Business Development, Intelligence and our frontline

teams, come together to celebrate the achievements of women in the security industry and the diverse talent within CIS. As we continue to

grow, we are proud to recognise the women whose contributions help drive our success. A memorable evening filled with great company, entertainment and appreciation for the incredible women shaping our industry. Here’s to our people, our diversity and our continued success.”

A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners, your stories inspire and elevate the entire security sector.

We’re incredibly proud to share that CIS Security has been recognised with two fantastic awards at this year’s Reward Strategy Rewards Awards:

BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR BEST ESG STRATEGY These awards are a wonderful recognition of the people, culture and values that sit at the heart of our business. Evi Garoufi-London, Director of Payroll and Benefits UK and ROI states: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as Best Company to Work For, an achievement that reflects the outstanding culture, commitment, and sense of community across our business. This award is a testament to the dedication of our colleagues, managers, and support teams who work tirelessly to create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. With nearly 4,000 colleagues across our organisation, this recognition highlights the positive impact of the initiatives, benefits, and development opportunities we continue to invest in. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making our company such a great place to work.” Our Best ESG Strategy award recognises the work being done to make ESG a meaningful part of how we operate and grow. Jordy Mukudi, ESG Manager, states: “Winning the Best ESG Strategy award is a fantastic achievement for our team. ESG is not a standalone initiative for us, it is embedded within our culture, decision-making and long-term business strategy. This award recognises the passion and commitment of colleagues across the organisation who work every day to drive meaningful and measurable positive impact.” A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone across CIS Security who has contributed to these achievements. Two awards, one incredible team.

We are delighted to share that we have achieved Gold standard recognition in the Governmentendorsed Payroll Giving Quality Mark, just one year after joining the scheme. It is a fantastic reflection of our colleagues’ generosity and our shared commitment to supporting charities and communities across the UK. Our Director of Payroll & Benefits, Evi Garoufi-London, shares: “We are proud to have achieved the Payroll Giving Quality Mark, recognising our commitment to promoting workplace giving and making charitable donations simple, accessible, and impactful for our colleagues.” A huge well done to our incredible Payroll & Benefits team for driving this forward and a sincere thank you to everyone who has embraced Payroll Giving. Together, we are helping create a culture of giving that extends beyond our organisation and making a meaningful difference.

Last month at The Leadenhall Building, our Security and Landing 42 teams took part in a terrorism awareness and scenario-based ACT session delivered by the City of London Police CTSA team. The session helped raise awareness of the ongoing threat from terrorism, whilst strengthening our security culture and building confidence in how we would respond to an incident. This was followed by a TLB tabletop discussion facilitated by our Head of Security, Joe Easterbrook, where the Landing 42 and Security teams worked through realistic event scenarios together and discussed how we would coordinate our response. It was a really interesting and informative session, and a great example of effective partnership working between The Leadenhall Building, Landing 42 and the City of London Police to help keep our building, occupiers and visitors safe.

CIS was delighted to support 40 Leadenhall and the City of London Police on a highly successful engagement day focused on personal safety, crime prevention, and bike tagging. The event generated fantastic conversations around staying safe both in the workplace and in day-to-day situations. Our Head of Security at 40 Leadenhall, Andrew Gough, shares: “A huge thank you to the City of London Police for hosting the excellent Safety Stand and Bike Marking event at 40 Leadenhall. The initiative generated fantastic engagement from our occupiers while promoting crime prevention, community awareness, and safer cycling, helping to protect both our bikes and our wider community.” Our Risk & Intelligence Lead at 40 Leadenhall, George A. shares: “A safer workplace starts with community collaboration. [It was] a successful bike marking and crime prevention event, partnering with the City of London Police and CIS Security. Thank you to all the occupiers who attended and supported this important safety initiative” Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions and got involved. Events like these demonstrate the value of collaboration in creating safer environments for everyone.

At CIS, we recognise the vital importance of World Suicide Prevention Day and the ongoing need to open up conversations around mental health and wellbeing. Yesterday, representatives from our team attended the Consortium for the Prevention of Suicide’s National Conference. Amanda McCloskey, Alistair Sutherland, and Tracy Plant proudly represented CIS Security at the event, engaging in crucial discussions on how we can all work together to protect and support mental health within our industry. This mission is deeply important to us as an organisation. We believe that looking after our people goes far beyond everyday operations. Achieving key certifications such as BS 30480 stands as a true testament to our unwavering commitment to prioritise everyone’s mental health, providing a structured framework to ensure proper intervention, prevention, and workplace support. Reflecting on the event, Bid Manager and TRiM Practitioner Rija Rawn shares these powerful words: “Today’s conference reinforced that every conversation matters. I believe that creating a culture where people feel supported, valued, and able to seek help is one of the most important commitments any organisation can make. The discussions throughout the day highlighted that meaningful change comes from turning awareness into action, challenging stigma, and fostering environments where well-being is prioritised. I am proud to be part of an organisation that is committed to supporting its people and helping drive positive change across our industry.”

Together, we will continue turning awareness into lasting action, ensuring no one in our industry ever has to face their struggles alone.

On July 24th marked Samaritans Awareness Day, a day to recognise the vital work of Samaritans and the importance of ensuring that anyone who needs someone to talk to can be heard. At CIS, we are proud to have colleagues who dedicate their own time to supporting this important cause. Steve Downs and Spencer Mordue both volunteer with Samaritans, helping to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for people to talk about whatever they may be facing. Steve Downs shares: “Being there for someone when they need another human being

the most. Volunteering has shown him the power of simply listening, particularly during the early hours of the morning when calls can often be at their highest. Every caller has their own story, and while not every conversation has an easy answer, Steve believes that “simply being present, listening with compassion, and allowing someone to be heard may have given them the comfort they needed at that point in time.”

Spencer Mordue added: “I feel that we as security professionals have a lot to offer as we often encounter those in our society who are facing different challenges in

life. The Samaritans’ 24/7 service provides callers with the opportunity to reach out

whenever they need support, through telephone calls, online chat and other forms of

communication. As Spencer explains, the conversations can sometimes be challenging, but thorough training and mentoring help volunteers to support callers with empathy and understanding.”

Steve and Spencer’s commitment highlights the impact that compassion and empathy can have. We are so proud to recognise the time they give to Samaritans and the support they provide to people when they need it most.

We were delighted to welcome students and alumni from Monmouth University’s Department of Criminal Justice and students from the UCL Department of Security and Crime Science to CIS Security, as part of a visit facilitated by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). It was especially rewarding to reconnect with Monmouth alumni now working in intelligence roles, demonstrating the value of strong professional networks and international collaboration. The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for students, alumni and practitioners from both sides of the Atlantic to exchange ideas and discuss the future of security, intelligence and crime science. A sincere thank you to the 22 Bishopsgate team for their support and hospitality, and to everyone who helped make the visit a huge success. We look forward to continuing these valuable relationships. Our Director of Risk and Intelligence, Ray Marskell MSyl, shares: “At CIS Security, we are proud of our strategic partnerships with both UCL and NJSACOP, which enable initiatives like this to bring together academia and industry. By connecting students, alumni, and practitioners from across the globe, we are helping to foster the next generation of security and intelligence professionals while strengthening international collaboration.”

STAMP OUT SPIKING CIS is pleased to be an official member of Stamp Out Spiking Spiking is a serious issue that affects people across our communities and it is one that requires collective action. Through this membership, we hope to support the important work being done to raise awareness, improve prevention and ensure better understanding of how to act when incidents occur. We believe it is essential to take a proactive approach and work closely with partners across the industry. This is a small but meaningful step in the wider effort to protect people and reduce harm. We are grateful for the work that Stamp Out Spiking are doing and are proud to stand alongside others working toward safer communities for all.

When the unexpected happens, it takes people who understand risk, make good decisions under pressure, and know exactly what to do. Sometimes, it is a leaking pipe discovered during a night patrol or protestor activity targeting a temporary exhibition. Across museums, galleries and cultural venues, our teams are trusted to protect some of the UK’s most significant collections. That responsibility demands specialist expertise, not just a security presence. Our Security Professionals are often the first people on scene when a masterpiece, treasured artefact or collection of national significance is under threat. And, where there is damage or disruption, there is often a wider impact on the visitor’s journey, an institution’s reputation and its ability to operate effectively. That is why specialist training is so important. Through cultural enrichment and emergency salvage awareness, our teams gain both an appreciation of what is being protected and the practical knowledge to act decisively when incidents occur…. because when something is truly irreplaceable, experience matters.

What really keeps financial institutions awake at night? It isn’t security incidents. It’s the reputational, operational and commercial impact when risk isn’t managed effectively. Working with a significant number of financial institutions across London, we have seen first-hand that security is about far more than controlling access or providing a visible presence. The real value lies in understanding risk. From executive protection and business continuity to protestor activity, operational disruption and evolving physical threats, financial organisations face a unique set of challenges that demand more than a standard security solution. What we’ve learned is that effective security is rarely measured by the incidents that occur…but by those that are prevented. Experience matters. Understanding how financial institutions operate, identifying vulnerabilities before they become issues, and implementing proportionate measures that protect people, assets and reputation without impacting business operations is what sets a true security partner apart from a security supplier. At CIS, we work with our customers to anticipate risk, strengthen resilience and support business continuity in some of the most demanding environments in London. In a sector built on trust and confidence, security shouldn’t be viewed as a service. It should be a strategic partner in resilience.

At CIS, we took a moment to appreciate the critical role payroll plays in the success of every organisation. Led by The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), this week shines a light on the professionals who ensure that people are paid correctly, on time, and with care, helping to keep businesses compliant, efficient, and people-focused. A very special shoutout to our wonderful Evi Garoufi-London MCIPP and her brilliant team, whose incredible hard work, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication have shaped our Payroll Department into the high-performing, trusted unit it is today. Payroll may happen quietly in the background, but its impact is felt across every corner of the business and we are truly grateful for everything the team does to support our colleagues on the frontline and beyond.

Thank you, Evi and team. You are at the heart of what makes CIS thrive.

WE ARE PROUD TO CELEBRATE A FANTASTIC SHARED ACHIEVEMENT! The Making London a Living Wage City campaign has won the Outstanding Campaign Award at the Living Wage

Champion Awards 2026. The campaign, led by Citizens

UK and the Living Wage Foundation in collaboration with Mayor of London’s Office, has helped create meaningful

change for workers and communities across London and

has put an estimated £330 million back into the pockets of low-paid workers.

We are especially proud that our Director of Payroll &

Benefits, Evi Garoufi-London MCIPP has been part of this collective effort. Evi’s passion and dedication reflects a

deep belief in the importance of fair pay, and the impact of collective action.

Evi shares: “This award is a proud recognition of the

collective effort to make London a fairer place to work. It celebrates the positive impact of the Living Wage

movement and the difference fair pay makes to people’s lives. We’re honoured to play a part in that journey and inspired to keep building on this success.”

Thank you to Gina Rodriguez and Fiona Gordon for

accepting the award on behalf of the steering group and a huge congratulations to all involved in this incredible campaign.

Remember what you access now comes from your next pay

Getting the most from PayWise+ gives you a range of tools to help you understand your earnings, build savings, make your money go further and access financial guidance and support. You also have the option to access a proportion of wages you’ve already earned before payday when you need some extra flexibility.

Here are some simple ways to get the most from your PayWise+ benefit: Keep track of what you’ve earned Use Track Your Earnings to see how your earnings are building throughout the pay period, alongside information about the shifts you’ve worked. Having greater visibility of your earnings can help you better understand your pay and make more informed decisions about your money.

Start building a buffer with Saving Pot

Putting even a small amount aside regularly can add up over time. Your Saving Pot makes it easy to save from your salary and start building a financial buffer, whether that’s for unexpected costs or something you’re saving towards. Your savings remain accessible, so they’re there when you need them.

Make your money go further with Vouchers

Before making an everyday purchase, check whether there’s a discounted voucher available through PayWise+. You can save on purchases with participating retailers, helping you get a little more from money you were already planning to spend. There’s no transaction fee when using the voucher feature, and participating retailers offer discounts to help your money go further.

Ask Penny when you have a financial question

Penny gives you a confidential place to ask financial questions and access general guidance and signposting. Whether you have a question about budgeting, saving or another money matter, Penny can help you explore useful information and point you towards relevant support. You can also access additional financial wellbeing content and support through Thrive.

Earned Wage Access changes when you receive some of your earnings; it doesn’t give you additional pay. Any wages you access before payday, along with the applicable transaction fees, will be reflected in your next pay. Keeping this in mind can help you understand what to expect when your normal payday arrives.

Know the fee before you confirm A transaction fee applies each time you use Earned Wage Access. Before confirming a withdrawal, PayWise+ will show you how much you can access and the applicable transaction fee, so you can see the cost before deciding whether to continue. Keep in mind that earned wage resets to 0 every 1st of the month.

Consider fewer withdrawals Because a transaction fee applies each time you access earned pay, making several smaller withdrawals can mean paying multiple transaction fees. If you know you need to access some of your earned pay, consider whether one or two withdrawals for the amount you need could work better. This can help reduce the total transaction fees you pay.

8 Check your history The History section in PayWise+ keeps a record of your previous Earned Wage Access transactions. Before making another withdrawal, it’s worth checking your History to see how much you’ve already accessed during the current pay period and the fees associated with those transactions. This can help you make an informed decision about whether, and how much, you want to access next.

Need some extra support PayWise+ gives you a range of tools designed to support your financial wellbeing and provide additional flexibility over wages you've already earned. Earned Wage Access isn't a debt solution or a replacement for professional financial support.

Observed on the 5th September, International Day of Charity honours the legacy of Mother Teresa and recognises the power of giving to support those most in need. CIS is committed to meaningful, long‑term charitable engagement that strengthens the communities we serve. Our approach is grounded in our ESG strategy, which aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and provides a clear framework for delivering genuine social value and supporting global priorities. As part of this commitment, we have recently introduced Payroll Giving, enabling colleagues to make regular, tax‑efficient donations directly to charities of their choice. This initiative empowers employees to contribute to causes that matter to them and reinforces our focus on accessible, employee‑driven social impact. Our charitable activity is further structured through the CIS Citizenship Trust, which serves as the foundation of our giving model. Built on three core pillars, Trust Donations, Corporate Funding and Grants. The Trust ensures our support is transparent, targeted and aligned with our ESG commitments. Together, these elements form a cohesive and responsible approach to charity, enabling CIS to support a wide range of charities and community partners while driving meaningful, measurable social impact.
