EMBRACING EVERYONE JUNE 2026

GEORGINA MARTIN

INGEUS ASSESSMENT DAY

On Wednesday 13th May, Darcie Alabaster, Senior Talent Resourcing Specialist, Shelby Martin, Talent Resourcing Specialist and Artur Wojcik, Assistant Security Manager, attended an assessment day in collaboration with Ingeus. We welcomed 12 attendees and spent time getting to know each candidate through a presentation, assessments, and a group scenario based exercise. Following the event, two candidates have been offered roles with CIS, and a third is currently progressing through the interview stage.

HAYES CAREER’S FAIR

Shelby Martin, Talent Resourcing Specialist, and Flo Hyde, Onboarding Assistant, attended Hayes Primary School who hosted a Careers Job Fair to introduce pupils to a range of career opportunities and workplace skills. Representatives from various professions spoke to pupils about their roles, qualifications, and career experiences, encouraging engagement and questions throughout the event.

The fair provided a positive and informative experience, helping to raise aspirations and increase awareness of future career pathways. Feedback from staff and pupils was very positive, and the event was considered a successful contribution to the school’s careers education and personal development programme.

CAPITAL CITY COLLEGE

Shelby Martin, Talent Resourcing Specialist visited Capital City College, in which she participated in a speed interviewing event to engage with potential candidates for current vacancies within the business.

As a result of the interviews, CIS have offered a total of 10 positions. two of which are for permanent site-based roles, while the remaining 8 positions have been offered for Operations Response roles. We continue to maintain a strong working relationship with the college, and the calibre of candidates presented is consistently of a high standard.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to support ongoing recruitment needs and strengthen our partnership with the college.

Emese, Will, and Raquell have now officially completed their placements with CIS. During their time with us, they gained valuable insight into how security operates across our portfolio, spending time with teams from Head Office, Intelligence, and Behavioural Detection. They also participated in several operational site visits, providing them with first-hand experience of security operations in practice.

One of the programme’s highlights was the opportunity to take part in penetration testing exercises, where the students helped challenge our teams, procedures, and response capabilities through a range of realistic security scenarios. To conclude their placements, each student completed a research project focused on a key area of our operations, delivering valuable findings and recommendations.

Emese’s project explored how Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) is gathered, monitored, and shared across CIS to help identify and mitigate emerging protest and activist-related threats to our customers. Will examined how security teams operating within multi-tenant buildings across the City of London communicate and share information, highlighting the effectiveness and value of our collaborative networks.

Raquell reviewed the use of security technology and analytics across multiple sites, including CCTV and geofencing capabilities. Her research focused on how technology and frontline security personnel can work together to enhance threat detection and response.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all three students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and contributions throughout the programme. It has been a pleasure having them as part of the team, and we wish them every success in their future studies and careers.

COLLEAGUE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Last month marked the successful completion of Phase 1 of our Colleague Development Programme at CIS. This programme is designed to support colleagues in developing new skills and building the confidence needed to take that important first step into leadership. This year, Jim McAllister, Colleague Development Manager, and Paula Orton, Trainer, have been proud to welcome over 50 participants in this year-long development journey, and it has been fantastic to see the commitment, growth, and ambition shown throughout the programme so far. Investing in people and creating opportunities for progression remains one of the most rewarding parts of what CIS do. We now look forward to Phase 2 commencing in June.

A huge well done to everyone involved so far, your dedication has been outstanding!

OPERATIONAL COMMAND & CONTROL TRAINING PROGRAMME

Command during an incident is a complex blend of critical thinking, leadership, communication, and decision-making. Effective command and control structures enable decision makers to maximise the use of available people, information, resources, and - most importantly - time. Incidents are often part of wider, multi-agency responses with potentially far-reaching consequences. In these situations, emergency responders and partner organisations operate under the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP). A clear and shared understanding of command and control terminology, responsibilities, and structures is therefore essential when working alongside emergency services and external agencies.

This specialist programme provides participants with the skills and confidence to lead effectively during dynamic, high-pressure, and rapidly evolving incidents.

OPERATIONAL COMMAND & CONTROL TRAINING PROGRAMME

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

X Develop structured command and control capabilities

X Improve leadership during critical incidents

X Strengthen communication and coordination skills

X Enhance operational resilience and preparedness

X Improve confidence in multi-agency environments

X Support effective incident management and recovery

X Reinforce accountability and decision-making responsibilities

This programme directly supports the requirements and intent of Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty), helping organisations improve preparedness, emergency response capability, and command structures during major incidents and terrorist-related events.

Feedback received from colleagues:

“The training session went well. Jim was very engaging throughout and made sure everyone felt involved, which really helped keep the session interactive and enjoyable.

I’ve learned a few new things from Jim that I can apply in my role, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts. Overall, it was a great session and very well delivered.”

COLLABORATION

Last month, CIS were proud to support The Leadenhall Building and the City of London Police (CoLP) for a bike marking initiative. We were proud to support this fantastic initiative in partnership with the City of London Police at The Leadenhall Building. There were some inciteful demonstrations using advanced bike marking technology as a highly effective and visible deterrent to thieves. It’s a simple yet powerful way to safeguard property, and a great example of how CIS is embracing innovation to enhance safety and security across our sites. STRESS AWARENESS MONTH

This April, in recognition of Stress Awareness Month, we slowed things down and opened up an important conversation about stress in the workplace.

Our CIS Colleague Development Administrator & Holistic Health Coach, Jaidy Madrigal, shares simple, practical ways to support your wellbeing and build more sustainable performance.

Our final week is about Practical Tools and Building Sustainable Habits.

Jaidy shares; “Small, intentional practices throughout the day help keep the nervous system balanced, improve focus, and prevent burnout. Sustainable performance isn’t about pushing harder, it’s about consistently supporting your mind and body so you can perform at your best over time.”

It is often the simple, everyday practices that help regulate your nervous system and build resilience. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, it is about finding what works for you.

WORLD DAY FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK

World Day for Safety and Health at Work, and we were proud to join the global community in recognising the importance of creating safe, healthy and sustainable workplaces for all.

This year’s focus on psychosocial working environments is a reminder that safety goes beyond physical risks. Workload, stress, communication, and support all play a vital role in wellbeing and performance.

We highlighted our Wellbeing Allies who are dedicated individuals supporting our frontline colleagues. They help foster open and supportive working environments.

Our Health and Wellbeing Business Partner, Darcy Fletcher, shares;

“We are focusing on the psychosocial impact of a healthy and supportive workplace. Understanding that work is a part of just one of our communities can mean we encourage support from within. As we grow so does our commitment to expanding this network, ensuring even more colleagues have access to the support they need, when they need it.

RED LION SQUARE - LITTER PICKING

Community and care go hand-in-hand.

A huge well done to our Senior Management Team at CIS, for leading by example during our recent community litter pick at Red Lion Square. Taking time out to improve our local environment is a core part of our commitment to social responsibility and community stewardship.

Spencer Mordue, Security & Training Manager, Warwick Court, shared his thoughts on the day:

“Really appreciated our senior management team at CIS Security bringing us together to be able to give back to (and pick up) our local community. Being able to use our time to have an impactful effect by collecting 4.65kg of discarded litter is immensely rewarding.”

EARTH DAY 2026: OUR POWER, OUR PLANET!

Protecting our planet shouldn’t just happen once a year: It happens through the choices we make every day. However, Earth Day is an opportunity to centre our focus on environmental issues, celebrate wins and highlight ongoing steps and responsibilities.

From human health to economic security and quality of life, the way we treat our planet reflects on the way we treat ourselves and our next generations. Let’s continue working together towards a sustainable future.

On the 5th June, it was World

Environment Day 2026

Taking Climate Action Seriously

This year’s theme, Climate Action, was a reminder that progress comes from commitment backed by real change and CIS are proud to be doing both.

CIS’ near term and long term science based targets are officially validated by the SBTi, confirming our pathway to meaningful decarbonisation.

We’re also reducing emissions in our day-to-day operations:

X Our mobile patrol fleet is fully electric, cutting operational carbon and improving air quality.

X Through our lighting patrols, we help customers identify unnecessary energy use and reduce consumption in real time, practical climate action with immediate impact.

Today is a celebration, but also a commitment. We’ll keep pushing forward, partnering with our customers and communities to accelerate climate action every day.

Progress happens when we act!

At CIS, we were proud to celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Held every year on 21st May, we highlighted not only the richness of the world’s cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving sustainable development within the security industry. We believe in the extensive diversity that shapes our teams and the communities we operate in.

Celebrating our diverse cultures strengthens our communities and fuels creativity. When we actively engage with perspectives different from our own, we break down barriers and build spaces where everyone feels recognised, respected, and valued.

It’s days like this that are a part of our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace, where all our colleagues feel acknowledged and valued.
