The Miracle Of Jesus’ Love at Christmas Now that the holiday season is upon us, it can be a sad time for someone we know. It might even be ourselves who feel lonely, depressed, worried, struggling with addictions or coping with illness in our family, a loved one behind bars or working far away from home. . This time of the year can be very difficult for those who find themselves lonely for love and family but especially hard for those who recently suffered a loss of someone close. When someone close to us dies, Christmas reopens the deep wounds of loss. There is an aching loneliness in our hearts that is screaming inside us. It is hard to feel any kind of joy or excitement about putting up a tree and decorating our homes. What for, we may ask. I don’t feel the Christmas spirit, I don’t feel like celebrating, I’d much rather forget that Christmas is coming. But there’s something about Christmas that is like no other holiday. It is a very special time. The miracle of Christmas, a celebration of our Faith and a time to remember the greatest gift ever given; his name is baby Jesus. Thinking of Christmas in that sense, takes us back to our own childhood memories of all the wonder surrounding the birth of Jesus. Even as adults, when we hear about a birth of a baby, we can't help but feel happy. Christmas can have a profound effect on our emotions. Looking into our children's eyes sparkling with a joyful anticipation of Santa's arrival, we remember our own excitement we felt as kids. Christmas times with our parents, family including those who are no longer here with us, the pride that fills our hearts when we watch our children on the stage at the concert and for some of us, the peace and goodwill of
Midnight Mass. Yes, Christmas time is a magical time no matter what we are going through as the warmth of this season fills our hearts with Hope, Peace and Love. Remember the less fortunate during this season of giving and sharing. Not all of us can buy expensive things for our kids and we don't have to stress ourselves out over that. After all, kids don't need expensive things to make them feel loved. Every parent wants the best for their children regardless and many of the best things cannot be bought. In the future, our kids won't remember or even care how much their gifts cost but will keep the memories of family times, of loving parents being there for them, providing them with plenty of food, keeping them in a safe, loving home and knowing what unconditional love is all about. We may know of someone who has no family to share Christmas with, let's reach out to our neighbors, in anyway we can. If you have extra and know of a kid who will not receive a gift, wrap one up for him/her. It is in giving that we receive. To those who are grieving, God can and will perform miracles in your life. He is a loving God who never gives us more than we can handle. When He does, He will carry us through these times. You are never alone. The community shares your loss and deeply cares. In the midst of your joy or pain this Christmas season, let new hope arise! He will create new memories in your life for you to cherish. Only believe! Jesus came down to earth as a baby in a manger to help us, to save us. Let the magic of Christmas fill your hearts and homes with Peace, Love and Hope. Merry Christmas! Just a couple Little humors... One dark night two guys were walking home after a party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery. When they got to the middle of the graveyard they were startled and stopped moving. There was this terrifying noise, “TAP-TAPTAP” coming from the shadows. Trembling with fear, they spotted an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones. “Holy cow Mister,” one of them said after catching his breath. “You SCARED us half to death. We thought you were a GHOST! What are you doing working here so late at night?” “Those fools!” the old man grumbled. “They misspelled my name!!” My employment search preoccupied our family for months. One day my husband told our three boys that to make things easier for me, he and a list of jobs for them. They were all silent until our six-year-old spoke up: “When are the interview?”
