Whether a learner is navigating a dual degree from Kyiv, joining an immersive week in Arizona from Guadalajara, or accessing English-language preparation from Istanbul, the Alliance ensures that mobility is not a privilege but a design principle.
This is a new map of global higher education: distributed, connected, and centered on students.

Their experiences spanning continents, cultures, and academic systems, show what happens when borders dissolve. In 2025, more than 200,000 students impacted by ASU Content and Experiences -- immersive learning courses, workshops, and events delivered
across partner campuses. Through Dual Degree Pathway programs, 8,000+ students enrolled in ASU-curated online courses, and 181 students matriculated into ASU campuses for Fall 2025, a 23% year-overyear increase

For Elina, studying during wartime in Ukraine meant navigating classes during blackouts, turning resilience into a learning philosophy. Through her AUK-ASU dual degree, she collaborated with peers across multiple countries and designed a capstone proposing decentralized solar energy for Ukrainian farms. Her academic success culminated in delivering her cohort’s graduation address.
Meanwhile, UAG students discovered what a truly global campus feels like during their immersive week at ASU.
Thirty students explored health sciences and business labs, attended classes taught by ASU faculty, experienced Dreamscape Learn, and visited the Grand Canyon. Their reflections capture the transformative power of stepping outside one’s academic comfort zone.

For Emiliia, arriving from Ukraine to the Thunderbird School of Global Management brought an unexpected sense of belonging. Interactive classes, constant dialogue, and the diversity of the ASU community shaped her personal and academic growth.

Faculty expertise, academic models, and institutional innovation also circulate across the network. In 2025, 4,000 faculty across partner institutions engaged with ASU content, training, pathways, and collaborative projects—up from 500 faculty in 2022, showing an eightfold increase in faculty development engagement.

At Universum International College in Kosovo, ASU Professor Victor Peskin expanded the academic conversation by leading a panel on transitional justice, international relations, and global security.
Students from political science, law, governance, and national security engaged with perspectives far beyond their domestic frameworks.

Academic innovation also takes the form of physical spaces redesigned for cross-border learning. At Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, the Immersive Center for Education in Health (CIES) merges ASU-informed
pedagogy, Cintana-driven space design, and UAG’s local health needs. Students rotate through VR anatomy stations, virtual patients, digital labs, and neuroarchitecturebased environments that heighten engagement and retention.

Language, too, becomes a pathway. During a visit to Istanbul Bilgi University, ASU Global Launch leaders met with Erasmus Office staff to expand access to ASU’s English-language programs. For many students,
English proficiency is the first border they must cross—and Bilgi’s partnership reinforces the Alliance’s commitment to supporting students academically and professionally.

RESEARCH ACROSS REGIONS:
KNOWLEDGE GAINS POWER WHEN IT MOVES ACROSS CULTURES
Through ASU-funded collaborations, partner universities are conducting research with cross-regional relevance.
A major study across Lima, Medellín, and San Salvador examined urban development through economic, environmental, and social indicators—including GDP per capita, internet access, public budgets, green
space availability, and health insurance coverage. The research revealed Lima’s consistent growth trajectory, Medellín’s high baseline performance with moderate improvement, and San gains under entropy analysis. Citizens across all three cities acknowledged development while expressing concern about its equitable distribution.
