thought of having their wedding here,” says Chelsy Kokenge, director of events for Rhinegeist. Recently after the growing popularity in their two private rooms, the brewery expanded and built two newly renovated event spaces, the Rhinegeist Event Space and The Annex.

The Rhinegeist Event Space is the larger of the two rooms at 6,000 square feet.

This room is laid back and vintage. The Annex is the smaller of the two at 2,000 square feet, with a very industrial feel.

“The exposed brick walls, pine floors and open wood rafter ceiling gives couples the ability to have a rustic chic wedding in an urban atmosphere,” says Kokenge.

Both of the rooms offer optional features from Rhinegeist including customized glassware, valet parking, full bar options and audiovisual equipment. The rooms separately offer different options such as tables and chairs, Rhinegeist beers on tap, and access to the public rooftop bar.

Lauren Bennett, a bride to be, is having her reception at Rhinegeist in August of 2017. “Rhinegeist to me is a unique and

different venue than the typical wedding venue. I was intrigued by the industrial feel of the space. We want a fun and causal reception and I think Rhinegeist will provide that,” she says.

Other local breweries available for private events include Beer Baron Hall at the Moerlein Lager House in downtown Cincinnati and Madtree Brewery on Kennedy Avenue.

Wherever the location, these breweries are sure to bring a fun and comfortable atmosphere for your wedding venue.

However, if a more casual venue isn’t for you, there are still a lot of locations in Cincinnati that have that same loaded history with more old-school class.

The Bell Event Centre

This venue is the epitome of what most people think of when they consider a timeless wedding: classic and elegant. Located at 444 Reading Road, the church was first built in 1850 but stood empty for six years after it was decommissioned in 1975. The Verdin Company bought the building in

1981, and the $1.5 million restoration of the building took two years. The church provides a beautiful and high-class ambiance with its stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings and terrazzo flooring.

Bri Coggins hosted her wedding at the Bell Centre three years ago in June. “My husband and I were drawn to the wow factor upon entering the space. The food and the ambiance were extremely memorable—people still comment about how it was so beautiful,” she says.

The venue also offers a few amenities including free parking, set up and clean up, a gourmet coffee station, fine china, glassware and silverware. According to the site’s website, “Everyone on our staff will win you and your guests over with a warm reception and acute attention to detail.”

Whether you decide to go the trendy or the classic route, a wedding venue should provide you and your guests with a fun and comfortable environment. Cincinnati has a ton to offer when it comes to your perfect location; all you need is your style. n
