The world’s most acclaimed singer of Wagner’s music, bass-baritone James Morris stars as Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Our production, designed by frequent Met regular Günther Schneider-Siemssen, will make its U.S. premiere in Cincinnati.

Our Otello, Antonello Palombi, at La Scala, where he once leapt to the stage from the audience to save an Aida performance.

Soprano and Met opera star Hei-Kyung Hong, photographed in Central Park, is Eva in Die Meistersinger von N端rnberg.

A favorite at La Scala and throughout her native Italy, Maria Luigia Borsi makes her U.S. debut as Desdemona in Otello.

2. Why are there only three operas in 2010?

For this coming season–our 90th Anniversary–we will depart from the regular schedule to present a lineup of three extraordinary productions. In addition, we are planning an Anniversary Gala Concert for Saturday, June 19.

(Tickets for the concert will be sold separately from subscriptions.)

3. Where should I sit?

For the best blend of Music Hall’s famous acoustics, you’ll love the Center Gallery. For the best visuals and leg-room, try the Front Orchestra. Best value? We recommend the Side Balcony.

4. When are the performances?

Choose the Weekday Series (6/23, 7/7, and 7/21) or the Weekend Series (6/26, 7/10, and 7/23). Performances are at Cincinnati Music Hall at 7:30 p.m., except for Die Meistersinger which starts at 6 p.m.
