Family Fun Bard Nurseries and Landscaping This year’s garden continues with our Family Fun series. As a family business, we understand how important our family time is together. This garden has a unique spin on outdoor living. We hope it will inspire many families to take a look at what is truly important in their lives.

As you step into the garden, follow the stepping stone pathways leading to the center. Notice the wide variety of evergreen trees—including ‘Hoopsi’ blue spruce, Eastern white pine and ‘Green Giant’ arborvitae. You will also see our signature ‘Snow Fountain’ weeping cherries and enjoy an array of tulip and hyacinth bulbs. Beautiful blooming azaleas, Japanese ‘Laceleaf’ maples and so much more will surround the space.

So what do you think is in the middle of our garden? You will have to stop in and see! Here’s a hint: What’s your favorite movie?

Inspired by the rich history of pavers and landscaping throughout our city, we incorporated an elevated rustic road, reminiscent of yesteryear, complete with a walk-through history tunnel below.

The space uses native plants and grasses to provide beautiful, hardy, lowmaintenance landscaping, while benefiting the environment and providing a timeless design. Notice the use of modern materials, as well as repurposed materials, as you walk through the garden. Townescapes The 2016 Townescapes display is a fusion of modern and organic designs blending clean lines and simple layout with natural garden elements. Our large fireplace is the main focal point, with clean, crisp edging material separating the bed spaces. Several different materials are featured—from stamped concrete to pavers to large natural boulders. Several different species of plants make up our purple-and-white color scheme.

We are using several hyacinth bulbs and adding vibrant color using crocus, among others. Native plants will also be used throughout the garden, including coral bells, juniper, redbuds and river birch. Garden 11

Werbrich’s Landscaping Nothing is more peaceful than listening to the crackle of a fire and the bubbling of water, while looking at the beauty of blooming daffodils and azaleas. As you approach our garden, the fireplace commands attention and is flanked by bubbling vases and a custom trellis. Fully enter the space to hear the sounds of water and to discover the beauty of the ‘Tete-a-tete’ daffodils in full bloom, along with the ‘Karens’ azalea.

Enjoy seating space on the courtyard seat walls and revel in the peaceful nature of the garden while admiring the coral bells along with the ‘Winter Gem’ and ‘Green Mountain’ boxwoods.
