LOOKING AHEAD
Despite its many achievements during the past year, DCED is excited about the various residential and commercial projects planned for or underway in 2018. With major projects continuing in the urban core and many neighborhoods, Cincinnati’s development efforts have sparked momentum that is envied by its peer cities.
The projects include the conversion of the old Crosley Radio building in Camp Washington into 222 market-rate apartments; the Cincinnati Scholar House, a 45-apartment complex in Walnut Hills for single parents pursuing a college degree and their children; and further development at The Banks district along Cincinnati’s central riverfront, among others. Additionally, DCED staff is currently developing a Workforce Action Plan. This plan, much like the Small Business Strategy and FDI Strategy, will combine regional resources into one comprehensive report and directory aimed at developing the workforce to meet the evolving needs of local businesses. This report is expected to be completed and released by mid-2019.
