Why am I a wedding florist? That’s a fair question. I have always loved flowers; in fact my first job was as a 14 year-old working in a local flower shop. Since that time I have tried out a few careers - botany, cooking, teaching - but I have always come back to flowers; they are my passion and my love. Designing wedding flowers for your day is a great honour for me, and something I take incredibly seriously. Know that as I review your proposal and choose each individual stem and ribbon, I am constantly aware of how important this day is and that these will likely be the most significant flowers you every carry. Step Two THE BOOKING

Review your itemized proposal and make any adjustments. Make the initial deposit towards your wedding flowers ( 25% ). Sign & Date the contract. Keep a list of any changes you may wish to make.
Step Three THE FINAL PROPOSAL

We will email you a reminder 8 weeks prior to your wedding. Double check all of the details in your proposal. If it’s listed we are providing it. If it’s not listed, we will not be providing it. Contact us to make adjustments. Check your colours, numbers & styles. Begin to think about your delivery or pick-up options located in the possibilities section of your proposal.
Step Four THE MONTH BEFORE

All proposals must be signed and finalized 1 month prior to the wedding. No changes can be made after proposal has been finalized. Double check to ensure we have the correct phone number for your day of contact. Arrange drop-off of Bride’s vases or other elements ( 2 weeks prior to wedding ) Finalize delivery and set-up, or pick-up details. Final payment must be made no later than 10 days prior to the wedding. Ensure final details and needs have been communicated. Enjoy your beautiful day.

Contract Your day is incredibly special and we’re honoured that you’ve chosen us to be a part of it. We’re excited to work with you and bring your floral vision to life. You’ve seen our reviews and know that we are here to do our absolute best for you on your special day. As with any event, there are several specifics that we clarify in this contract so that we are all on the same page. Once this contract is signed and we have received the specified deposit, we will OFFICIALLY be your florist! We are so thrilled to have you as a #calyxbride.
TRAVIS MILLS | CALYX FLORAL DESIGN
We require a non-refundable 25% initial payment when you book your wedding flowers with us. The remainder of the balance is due at minimum (10) days prior to the wedding. This contract is not subject to change less than one month (30 days) prior to your wedding date, after you have confirmed your flowers. Your flowers will not be ordered unless we have received this final confirmation. If changes are requested after this time an additional fee may be applied. All rentals must be returned by the Thursday following the wedding or there will be an additional fee of $1 per day per item. If you wish Calyx to pick the rentals up this MUST be pre-arranged and is available for a fee. Also, scheduled pick-up times for rentals must be pre-arranged with Calyx Floral Design. Delivery/Pickup/Set-up (for Friday and Saturday weddings) • • • • •
Pick-up time is between 8am – 10am (no charge) Local delivery is available after 10am ($50 per drop off) Long distance delivery is available after 10am for a fee of $50 (per 300km) plus $0.50 per kilometer return. Set up is available for all floral arrangements at a rate of $50 per hour. (minimum one hour) Take down is available for all floral arrangements at a rate of $75 per hour. (minimum one half hour)
INITIAL PAYMENT The client shall make an initial payment in order to retain Calyx Floral Design to perform the services specified in the Proposal Document. This initial payment of 25% of the total cost shall be applied as payment ot the total cost. The Client agrees to pay the remaining balance 10 days prior to the wedding. Calyx Floral Design will not perform services specified in the Proposal Document until all monies owing have been paid in full. If the final balance due is not received at least 10 days prior to the event date, the contracted services will be deemed to have been cancelled without notice by Client and the Client shall forfeit any monies paid to date. Cash, Certified Cheque, Credit Card and E-transfer accepted.
CANCELLATION If the client cancels services prior to 30 days before the wedding, any payment, less the initial payment, shall be refunded to the Client. Calyx Floral Design shall retain, as agreed to by the Client, the initial payment as liquidated damages for having to attempt to re-book Event Date. If the Client cancels services less than 30 days prior to the wedding, full payment will still be owing to Calyx Floral Design to cover the cost of purchased items and inability to re-book the wedding date. FAILURE TO PERFORM If Calyx Floral Design cannot perform the services in this Quote Document due to fire or other casualty, act of God or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to illness, then Calyx Floral Design shall return the initial payment to the Client but shall have no further liability with respect to this Contract. In the event Calyx Floral Design fails to perform for any other reason, Calyx Floral Design shall not be liable for any amount in excess of the Total Order Amount. INHERENT QUALITIES The Client is aware that colors vary from flower to flower and the Client releases Calyx Floral Design from any liability for any claims whatsoever based upon color match due to natural color variations of flowers. SUBSTITUTIONS Calyx Floral Design shall make every effort to use flowers as indicated in design pictures. In the event of unavailability or poor quality of certain flowers or greenery, Calyx Floral Design reserves the right to make substitution to type of flower or greenery used in design without additional cost to the Client. Calyx Floral Design shall attempt to discuss any substitutions with the Client prior to the Event Date. Calyx Floral Design STANDARD PRICE LIST The prices in the Proposal Document are based on Calyx Floral Design’s Standard Price List or, alternatively, pricing specific to the Client. This price list is adjusted periodically, and future orders shall be charged at the prices in effect at the time when an order is placed. All additional items or variations to the Proposal Document, at any time after the acceptance of the Proposal Document shall be subject to additional charges and shall be considered as part of the Total Order Amount and payable under the same terms and payment dates.
MISCELLANEOUS The Proposal Document incorporates the entire understanding of the parties. Any modifications of the Proposal Document must be in writing and acknowledged by both parties in writing, whether by handwriting or by emails sent and received. Any waiver of a breach or default shall not be deemed as a waiver of subsequent breach or default of either the same provision or any other provision of this Quote Document. The Proposal Document shall be governed by the law of the Province of Alberta. CAUTION Flowers are living things and are subject to damage as a result of improper care. It is important to keep your flowers hydrated and adhere to the following care tips to ensure your Bouquets and all wedding flower arrangements stay fresh and beautiful for the day of your Event. Care of your Bouquets and Floral Arrangements (inclusive of all Vase Arrangements, Boutonnieres, Corsages or Other items that are not directly within a water source) Fresh cut flowers have different life spans. Alstroemeria, Daisies and Carnations, for example, can remain vibrant for longer periods. Roses have a shorter life but are prized for their special and delicate beauty. Vases and Arrangements should never be placed on electrical appliances such as televisions and stereos as this can dry them out. Your flowers will last longer in areas that are moderate in humidity. Keep all flowers away from heat or extreme cold (kept not lower than 12 degrees Celsius). Keep away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents and direct drafts from ceiling fans. Heat will shorten the life of any fresh flowers and cause them to silt. Keeping them in moderate temperatures helps your floral arrangements and Bouquets last longer. Hydrate your Bouquets as much as possible by placing them in appropriate size vase containers with approximately 1” of water. Use warm water. Warm water has less oxygen in it and will lessen changes of air bubble being trapped in stem. Boutonnieres and corsages contain cut flowers and although they have been wrapped with floral tape, they have a shortened period of time for freshness. If not placed within extreme conditions as in clause 3, your boutonnieres and corsages should remain looking fresh for the day of your Event. Do not leave your flowers sitting in a hot car and do not stick items on top of your flowers as this will greatly shorten their lifetime. Arrangements in Vase containers should be checked to ensure that Vase water is at least to a level of ¾ of the vase height. Water should be added daily and changed often with stems being re-cut to increase longevity. Your flowers need a constant supply of fresh, clean water. Giving them fresh water keeps floral arrangements lasting longer. If water becomes cloudy, replace it entirely. If possible, re-cut them by removing one to two inches
from the bottom of the stem. Remove leaves that are below the waterline. Rotting leaves will contaminate water and also shorten life. Clean water is essential – keep the water clean and you will enjoy your fresh flowers longer! Do not place your Bouquets or Flower Arrangements near fruits or vegetables because of ethylene gas that is produced. Do not carry Bouquets in any manner other than upright. Holding flowers upside down, shaking, throwing, or lying down may cause damage to design and flowers. Bouquets should always be place upright in a vase container suitable to the size of the bouquet when not being held in a proper manner. LIMITED WARANTY / SOLE REMEDY Calyx Floral Design warrants that services provided, and products delivered to Client conform to the descriptions contained in this Contract and are of merchantable quality. This Limited Warranty and Sole Remedy is made expressly in lieu of any and all other express or implied warranties and constitutes the only warranty made with respect to services provided and products delivered under the terms of the Proposal Document. Calyx Floral Design’s liability is limited to the Total Order Amount as paid to Calyx Floral Design by the Client. The Client acknowledges that he/she has read the CAUTION portion of the Contract and is fully aware and fully understands the content. Upon delivery of goods to the Client or its representatives, the Client assumes all risk of loss and liability resulting thereafter to any product received from Calyx Floral Design. The Client is solely responsible for any loss or damages as a result of failure to comply with items contained in CAUTION and because of misuse, abuse, accident, damage in transit and improper handling not in accordance with recommended are. The Client is solely responsible for determining the suitability for use or application of any product received, including components thereof. If services provided or products delivered to the Client fail to conform with the terms of the Proposal Document, the Client or it’s representative must advise Calyx Floral Design at the time of delivery of product of such non-conformance otherwise product delivered by Calyx Floral Design to the Client or its representative shall be deemed to conform with the descriptions contained in the Proposal Document, that they are of merchantable quality and the Client thereafter fully releases Calyx Floral Design from any liability in regards to the Proposal Document.
