Center for Indonesian Medical Students’ Activities, CIMSA, is an independent, inclusive, nasionalist, non-profit and non-party organization.

CIMSA is an individual based organization with members consisted of medical students from many universities in Indonesia.

Established in 2001, and has grown up from 6 to 17 locals with approximately 5000 members. CIMSA aims at providing Indonesian medical students’ activities lodge to empower and express their idealism, thus medical students will have the same opportunities to get involved in health as early as possible and contribute to the development of this country.

Our activities are applied not only in the local and national, but also in the international level. This can be achieved because since its establisment CIMSA has gained trust from the international world to become the full member of IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Association); the largest students’ organization in the world with approximately 107 countries as its members representing more than one million medical students worldwide.

CIMSA’s field of work covers 6 aspects represented in the form of Standing Commitee (SCO): SCOME, on Medical Education; SCOPE, on Professional Exchange; SCOPH, on Public Health; SCORA, on Reproductive Health Including AIDS; SCORE, on Researh Exchange; SCORP, on Human Rights and Peace.

First of all I praise Allah SWT, because of the mercy, grace and blessing of His,CIMSA UNPAD can publish this magazine for the third time and the last for this year. Again, I’ll explain that CIMSA is a center for Indonesian medical student activities which is independent, non-profit, and nonpolitical. CIMSA itself was founded on May 6, 2001 and has the goal of “Empowering Medical Students, Improving Health Nation.” With already more active presence of 5,000 members and hundreds of projects, CIMSA has been much help in many social activities.

One of the best achievements CIMSA FK UNPAD at the end of this year is chosen as the top local in the period from October to February. I am very grateful to the members and officials who in one year is very contributive, especially in doing community development program that will be included in phase two.

Then the next achievement obtained by CIMSA FK UNPAD this year is the implementation of one of its successful national meeting, National Leadership Summit 2015. Thank God, I am very grateful to all those who support this very smooth running event, the OC (Organizing Committee), sponsors (Faber Castell, Indocafe, Arnes Travel, FKOPD, and Second Printing), the Faculty of Medicine, University of Padjadjaran, and also General Education Hospital Dr. Hasan Sadikin.

Last but not least, in this magazine will be explained the activities that have been undertaken in the last period. In addition, there was also testimony from the Official CIMSA about their year in the team. Again, I am very grateful to all those who support CIMSA FK UNPAD. Hopefully with the continued development of the CIMSA FK UNPAD, the welfare and public health Sumedang, Jatinangor can be increased and can be maintained well.

It has been an honour and also a blessing for me to serve CIMSA FK UNPAD as Media and Communication Director this year. Lucky for me, I got a team full of talented and passionate people. This year was amazing for all of us, and as the last edition we worked on, we tried to give the best on this.

In this edition, we are going to take a look to a few months earlier, our local projects in the end of 2014, and also a report from one of OM delegation.

We also have special interview with the official team who will soon finish their duty in CIMSA FK UNPAD. If you are interested in environmental health, you may be interested in reading our special health article talking about the climate change and its impact to human health.

Turns out, this will be a good bye from me and my team. We are thankful for all the support we have received through the year.

Hopefully, STAPES will serve you better next year.

It feels like it was yesterday when we decided to take the chance to host the National Leadership Summit 2015, and watched our Project Officer, Putri Liana, presenting in EO GA. Now, it has been memories.

Those four days was everything.

We are happy to welcome all the delegates and we tried to serve the best.

Start from the registration on the first day, new comers session, training, and welcoming party. The first day when we started to now each other and getting ourselves ready for tomorrow. At the welcoming party, we introduce you to Sundanesse culture with Angklung, and with the performance by MMS, we wanted you to know FK UNPAD better, where we sang “FK UNPAD Unite�.

NATIONAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2015

The days continues with regular things we do in other national meeting. But this year, we have some special agenda, like super games, where the member knowledge about CIMSA are being chalenged, and also ComDev Corner, where each local presenting their ComDev project as in a project fair. The last day was the biggest day of all, where the Policy Statement about Post 2015 Development Agenda was formed in the Plenary Session.

It was a very great experience to held this big event. We are thankful for trusting us on this, and we are sorry if there are still many things we cannot provide you well. Hope to see you all again in another national meeting.

October Meeting or OM is one of the national meeting annually held in October. There will be presented an overview of CIMSA’s goals for one year. Standing Committee (SCO) session is emphasized in OM, with the aim to provide the needs of the members of each SCO for one year ahead.

This year, the host of October Meeting is CIMSA Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and held from May 23 to October 26, 2014. The delegates from CIMSA UNPAD arrived on October 24, 2014 at 4:00 pm. Then the delegates was immediately getting ready to follow the activities of OM on the second day. On the secondnd day until the third, there are parallel sessions, training, small working groups, plenary sessions, and a farewell party held at Villa Eden II. The theme of the farewell party at the October Meeting is Halloween.

This national Meeting was closed with a social program at Mount Merapi Lava Tour. And there are some who participated in the CHRT (CIMSA’S Humanitarian Response Team). Before going home, the delegates CIMSA Padjadjaran explore Malioboro. Later in the evening, the delegation went to Monument Station to return to Bandung.

On the third day there is a project fair in the morning. CIMSA UNPAD has several projects that entered the project fair, that Breaking the Silence (SCOME), Teddy Bear Hospital (SCOPH), and CYMPHISIS. In addition, there is a project presentation in and project from CIMSA UNPAD also entered the project presentation, namely POTATO (SCOPE) and JPS (SSCORP).

Although global warming may bring some localized benefits, such as fewer winter deaths in temperate climates and increased food production in certain areas, the overall health effects of a changing climate are likely to be overwhelmingly negative.

Climate change affects social and environmental determinants of health – clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food and secure shelter.

Climatic conditions strongly affect water-borne diseases and diseases transmitted through insects, snails or other cold blooded animals.

Changes in climate are likely to lengthen the transmission seasons of important vector-borne diseases and to alter their geographic range.

Measuring the health effects from climate change can only be very approximate. Nevertheless, a WHO assessment, taking into account only a subset of the possible health impacts, and assuming continued economic growth and health progress, concluded that climate change is expected to cause approximately 250 000 additional deaths per year between 2030 and 2050; 38 000 due to heat exposure in elderly people, 48 000 due to diarrhoea, 60 000 due to malaria, and 95 000 due to childhood undernutrition.

Extreme high air temperatures contribute directly to deaths from cardiovascular and respiratory disease, particularly among elderly people. High temperatures also raise the levels of ozone and other pollutants in the air that exacerbate cardiovascular and respiratory disease. Pollen and other aeroallergen levels are also higher in extreme heat.

bina desa COMDEV CIMSA & PKM PH KEMA FK UNPAD

Started in 2011, when CIMSA UNPAD decided to make a project which is sustainable, we started to make a project we called “Bina Desa”. Since then, we have develop a community in Hegarmanah, Jatinangor.

Still not enough, after three years working in the same village, Hegarmanah, we started to look for a new village in Jatinangor to be developed.

In 2014 we decided to cooperate with PKM PH KEMA FK UNPAD to do this project. And after about half a year searching for a new community to be developed, we choose Desa Mekargalih as the target for this project.

After surveyed the location and the profile of the community, we started to build a good relationship with the community. “Grand Opening of Bina Desa” was our firstproject, where we introduce CIMSA and PKM PH KEMA FK UNPAD to the community. The next project was “Ngariung Sehat”, where we spend a Sunday together with the community by doing gymnastic and a talk about BPJS. This year, we are planning to do so much more with the community and all CIMSA member will be participating

The main capacity of a doctor in interacting with patients is good communication, especially needed in terms of diagnosis, but what if a doctor facing a patient who has limitations in communicating, such as deaf patients? Certainly without communication we will face difficulties in diagnosing them.

By Breaking the Silence, SCOME CIMSA FK UNPAD try to facilitate future doctors to learn how to communicate, especially with the deaf. Held in October 11th 2014, this project involving a special school teacher and students to train members of CIMSA UNPAD about sign language.

The project was started with a lecture by the teacher and followed by a demo by the students. In the end of the session, the participants are divided into groups to practice the sign language and then they do a demonstration.

Malignant

Nowadays, the role of the media and publication have become greater in spreading information. A wide variety of media is already available, either free or paid. By making optimal use, an organization can better known by the public.

To improve the capacity of members in making good publication for the projects, HROD and MC Team of CIMSA FK UNPAD, held an upgrading named “MALIGNANT�, Marketing and Publishing from Basic to Advance Training, in September 25th and 30th, 2014.

The second day, we learn to use Adobe Flash to make animation.

This time, another member of MC Team, Vanessa gave the material. After that, some participants were called forward to demonstrate how they would presented their project to external parties.

In the first day of training, the participants was given a lecture about marketing, by kang Renzavaldy Rusli. After that, we practiced to make poster using photoshop. For this training session, one of MC Team member, Shofura gave the material and then the participants have to make their own.

Ahmad Faishal Local Coordinator

He is Ahmad Faisal, he was born in Bandung, on June 28th, 1994, has hobbies of playing soccer and badminton.

Talking about CIMSA, I think it is an organization that is based on the project, and can land a hand into the community. Therefore, I am interested to be a member of CIMSA, and after I entered CIMSA, I think CIMSA has a lot of programs that have the aim is to improve the quality of public health. So, that’s why I really feel comfortable to be part of CIMSA. Initially, I had not imagined to become LOCO, because I’ve never had the experience of being the leader of the organization. But someone to motivate me to go forward, he said “if not now, when will you learn? Maximize the opportunities you have now.” That’s my strongest motivation to become LOCO, one of official team in CIMSA. And after join the official team, I got a lot of experience, knowledge and become more developed. The family atmosphere at CIMSA was felt strongly that makes me feel really comfortable.

One period of being a LOCO flies so fast. Perhaps this is the message that I can say. ”be ACTIVE with CIMSA”, I hope that all of the members understand the tagline. I hope all members can have strong bound and make a lot of improvement. I really believe in the next CIMSA generations.

Witri Septiani vice Local Coordinator for internal affairs

Witri Septiani is the Vice Local Coordinator for Internal Affairs of CIMSA FK Unpad. Born in Padang, 13 September 1994, she likes to cook, sleep and play. She dreams to become a devoted doctor so that she could help many people and live a happy life.

For me, CIMSA is a home. CIMSA is a home for medical students’ activity, where I find my new family. I applied to become a VLI because I wanted to develop CIMSA in general, but I didn’t think that I had what it takes to be a Local Coordinator.

As a CIMSA official, I find new friends who understand me and get close to them. I also get to be close to newbies and my seniors. I also get to befriend the National Officials and NCs. During my period of being a VLI, I encounter several difficulties but with help from other officials, I managed to get through those problems and solve them.

The most memorable thing for me is how we work together to solve problems and get through a crisis.

I hope that CIMSA FK Unpad could attain even more accomplishment especially in the nationals. I also hope that the projects would become even better and give real benefits for other people.

Firda ME vice Local Coordinator for external affairs

Born in Pekanbaru, November 12, 1994. Elsa, how she used to be called, started of to be a member of CIMSA in 2013. For her, CIMSA is a place where medical students can improve their ability and be contributive to the community. When the open recruitment for official team was opened, whe feels the need to do something more real to build CIMSA and make it better.

Travelling, eat, and photography are the things she loves. A year being a part official team, she had both happy and sad times, but the togetherness makes it worth. “I get to know new people, great people, and their differences makes me learn how to face different types of people”, she said.

“The right shoe left knowing the left shoe was right”, said to be her favorite quote. She hopes CIMSA UNPAD will still be the best local, improve the projects, and the member will be more active and solid.

Sabrina Anggi Secretary General

Sabrina Anggi Lubis, Seretary General (SECGEN) of CIMSA FK UNPAD. She was born in Ketapang, Pontianak, 18th April 1994, and her hobbies are watching films, travelling and sleeping. She wants to be a famous Cardiologist that can help many people, then build a special cardiac hospital in Pontianak. “The only thing that overcomes hadr luck is hard work�.

For her CIMSA is a place that can make us improve and develop our selves, and developing others too, we can learn anything with CIMSA. She tought that we are as a medical student really need join with CIMSA, because here we can learn how to empathy, meet new people, play with children, etc. Its a meaningful organization that give some adventage for our future, especially as a doctor.

She joined the official team because she wanted to take a part in managing an organization from inside, not just as a member,and pick secgen beause she loves the work.

Being an official make her feel like she got the new family, and being wise in decission making. By being secgen, she learned more about how to act orderly, and not to postpone an assignment, job or project.

She hopes that CIMSA Unpad can be the best local and can improve health in Indonesia, have sustainable project and creat some inovation.

Aulia Astari treasurer

Aulia Astari, we usually called her “Aul”. She was born on June 4th,1994, in Batam, has hobbies of listening to the music, eating and sewing. She will share about her experience as she become Treasure CIMSA Padjadjaran University for period of 2014-2015.

“I think CIMSA is not only an organization, but also a family for me.” CIMSA has many good activities. We are not only meeting at campus to do something, but also going down to society directly.

“First, actually there isn’t a candidate for treasure. Hmm but I had a lot of experience on managing money. And I can learn about accounting here and got new knowledge. I also want to contribute in CIMSA. So, that was my motivation became Official team.”

For her, became a treasure was so fun. She can get much money, even though the money isn’t hers. It would be a happiness for her, if the amount of balance in great quantities. She can also attend other SCO project. But if there is overdue merchandise from national, people will fault her and she feels guilty.

“I have a classic hope but deep meaning, be a better CIMSA! More fun and in the future get members that love CIMSA. Because when you love something, you will do the best for it. I saw many members that only join CIMSA and do nothing. Let contribute to our beloved CIMSA!”

Annisa LW Local public health officer

Annisa Layalia Widjanarko, she is our Local of Public Health Officer (LPO). She was born in Depok, 13th June 1994. Her hobbies are reading (novel, comic, magazine, and medical textbook) and sleeping. Haji/Umrah with her parents by her own money is one of her ambitions, and she wants tobe a doctor that not only cure but also can empower people awareness in health.

“Be the change that you want to see in the world” -Mahatma Gandhi.

Related to the goal of CIMSA it self, “Empowering medical students, and improving nation’s health”, CIMSA always can fasilitate us to be active.

She decided become an LPO because she really interrest in public health. And her impression in official is that she feel happy eventough the jobs are not easy, because in CIMSA we did the jobs and projects together. Being an LPO also fun, because it’s challenging.

Because in CIMSA we get some way to develop, and have many fasilitation for it, so use these as good as possible, and STAY ACTIVE WITH CIMSA!!

Aryo Cahyo local officer on

medical education

Aryo Cahyo Byantoro, LOME CIMSA Unpad 2014-2015. But people usually called him “Cibi” or “Cibs”. He was born on August 4th,1995, in Jakarta, has hobbies of reading books and kepo-ing, loves green and brown color.

There is one of my favorite quotes, “Best human is useful for others” (Khairunnas anfauhum linnas). That also inspire me to be a useful person.

There are some difficulties that I face. However, despite the difficulties, many things that make me happy to be LOME. I can meet SCOMEdians that have a lot of potential and talent. They also responsible if being given a task.

CIMSA itself like nano-nano. Sweet, sour, salty. Various people gathered here with each weakness and strength. From the beginning, be a part of CIMSA, I had attended a national meeting twice, October Meeting 2013 in Padang and Make Me Up 2014 in Jakarta. In my opinion, that activities can give many benefits, like meet new friends, get new information, and also traveling.

Time flies fast. Perhaps this is the message that I can say. Hopefully next Official team and LOME can carry the name of CIMSA Padjadjaran University (generally) and SCOME (in particular) so much better. They also have high sense of ke-CIMSA-an, because this is a problem in CIMSA every year and I think, it need special attention.

M. Zidni F. local officer on

Human rights & peace

ZIDNI FATAYAN was born on November 18th, 1994. The guy who likes playing game – by reading his favourite book “Harrison”, is one and only our Local Officer on Human Right and Peace. With his love he describes CIMSA as a tree. Tree, for him, is a place where we take shelter in the rain or a place for having fun. He also describes CIMSA has strong kinship as the root of the tree, and as the root of the tree he also finds CIMSA has widely enough connection. “What the most important are CIMSA is a place where we can bring goodness for society and it gives us precious experiences to live our life as a doctor later.”

“I don’t know exactly, but I thought it was kind of my curiousity,” he said when we asked about his motivation of being an official.

“I hadn’t tried to take higher responsibility and yes, I don’t regret my choice to take this position. It was the calling. It gave me lots of experiences.”

It became memorable for him, when he gathered with other member to discuss some projects. Being LORP taught him how to make his member keep in touch, how to make them feel that SCORP belongs to them and they belong to SCORP, and how to motivate his members when they need to be.

He thought that it will be great if every project has some points that we want to achieve, so it would be clear what is needed to be fixed. “I hope CIMSA’s kinship will be stronger, not only with member itself but also with the graduates. i hope they can be involved in our project. I just thought that one attribute of a powerful organization is having strong alumni support.”

Fredric Zulkifly local exchange officer (outgoing)

Fredric Zulkifly, Local Exchange Officer Outgoing of CIMSA Unpad 2014-2015. Born in Jakarta, February 3rd, 1995. His hobbies are watching, strolling, and swimming.

“Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.” -Jamie Paolinett For me CIMSA is a suitable place for medical students to learn how to organize and conduct a project. Projects that are done varies as to not make them easily bored, ranging from community development, medical students’ empowerment, to student exchange activities. I think CIMSA is a really cool place.

Well I wouldn’t say I didn’t have a hard time when conducting my work here as LEO Outgoing. SCOPE does not have a lot of projects for the members to work on, this condition makes it hard for us to gather around. The fact that most of our works are in administration field which do not require us to meet up with each other also did not help at all. But then all of these don’t mean anything compared to the happiness I got. I am happy when I see the members are all enthusiastic and eager on a project. Their behaviors are hilarious too. Last but not least, by joining CIMSA I got to know a lot of people and a lot of knowledge about traveling abroad.

My ultimate dream is certainly to be a successful doctor can help many people. I hope I can still keep contributing to CIMSA, even after I become an alumni. Keep the spirit my kids!

Alifa Taqiyyaa local exchange officer (incoming)

Alifa Taqqiyaa, Local Exchange Officer Ingoing of CIMSA Unpad 2014-2015. Born in Bandung, on November 19th 1994. Her hobbies are reading and crafting.

“Happiness is a state of mind” For me CIMSA is an organization that is undeniably fun. Everyone has the same chance to develop herself/himself here. It’s great!

Having a new family here in Faculty of Medicine Unpad, meeting new friends and getting new experiences in national meetings. The advantages I got from CIMSA, by being LEO incoming in particular, is I get to meet with doctors in Hasan Sadikin Hospital and get to know Bandung more. I also have the chance to socialize with foreigners, most of them are Caucasians, interesting right? I really learned a lot, from how to communicate with people who are older, how to take care of bureaucratic documents, and understand other cultures.

Last but not least, I could meet scopeople which are super cool and fun, I got my own share of happiness by being a LEO. My wishes for CIMSA in the future? Hopefully CIMSA would be an organization that feels like home for each of its members. A place for them to learn how to work professionally without abandoning the fun!

My dream? I hope to become a good doctor which would make my parents proud. I also wish someday I would get a scholarship to study abroad.

reproductive health incl. aids

Machrani Febriastry, Local Officer on Reproductive Health incl.

AIDS CIMSA Unpad 2014-2015. But we usually called her “Rani”. She was born on February 23th, 1995, in Jakarta, has hobbies of reading books and dancing. So, this article will tell you about her, as long as she become LORA CIMSA Padjadjaran University.

In her opinion, CIMSA is an organization for medical student who likes to take action and desire to make a better change. CIMSA have a lot of activities and each SCO has their activity. CIMSA is like family, but there are too many members, so CIMSA’s members are more closed in the same SCO. Mainly CIMSA is project based, it is better to make a reason why we should make a project.

There is some motivation to become LORA. First, she really loves SCORA and always want to stay at SCORA, she also got new knowledge at SCORA. So, she want to be more active and reply what she got. She was so happy that other officials were fun.

She feels tired physically and mentally when became an official.

“But, it paid off that always got great experience, had many friends from different university, “fight” with other officials. Even though we (official) aren’t closed enough in daily life but when we are team work, we are so closed.” The greatest experience when TOM (Team Official Meeting) 0. For the first time “nginep bareng” and took photos at Papyrus, attended NPEW, and in Plenary Session direct the member to vote. The saddest moments were many members did not come to the project and a member want to leave the SCO. It made me cry.”

Bunga Diela local officer on

research exchange

Bunga Diela, LORE CIMSA FK Unpad 2014-2015. She was born on December 25th, 1994 in Surabaya. She has a lot of achievement, especially in research. That’s why she has good concern in that area.

For me, CIMSA is the organization that can develop medical students according to their interests and talents. Especially, I’m fall in love with research, so SCORE CIMSA fits me very well.

Because of that, came a desire to me about official team in CIMSA. So I motivate myself to become LORE because I want to develop this SCORE to be better again. Actually, being a LORE is not easy because we had a lot of members who must be developed, but the most important thing is to make all of the members to feel happy and comfortable in this SCORE. Being a LORE, helped me a lot in terms of audiency and advocacy, can improve communication with doctors, so I have good relation with some doctors, so its helped me a lot in making thesis.

Finally, I hope for the next official teams, all of you can develop the full potential of all members of SCO, more active in external area in order to be renowned, and hopefully the next official teams become solid and mutual understanding in order to maintain and maximize CIMSA for the next generations.

fundraising & merchandise director

Iqi Siti Rizkiah is the Fundraising and Merchandise Director of CIMSA FK Unpad. In her free time, she likes to tell her stories to others. Her dreams are to graduate with excellent scores and be a pediatrician.

She also would like to be in the government or to be married to a government worker. Her favorite quote: knowledge is light.

CIMSA is a part of my life in FK Unpad. I applied as an official because I want to become more participative. I also want to keep myself busy so that I can learn how to manage my time. Basically, I want to learn how to become a 7-stars doctor by being an official in CIMSA. Being an official is pleasant for me because I get to meet new people from other locals. I also get a new family—other officials. As an official, sometimes I argue with others in discussion and it kinds of make me feel like a lawyer. It teaches me that critics will only be critics if done without action.

I love being an FnMD because I get to work with the super-kindand-sometimes-annoying FnM team. I also get to work for money.

Despite the fact that the money is not for my personal fund, it is still incredibly exciting. I also get to befriend the vendors of merchandise. Overcoming the difficulties during my working period is also pleasing. Life doesn’t feel as quiet.

Finally, I hope that CIMSA members would be more active, more creative! Having such human resources, CIMSA definitely has what it takes to create something huge with great benefits for other people. I will wait for the news about CIMSA huge project on newspapers and TV.

Annissa Fadila Human resources and organization development director

A woman who has unique voice, named Annissa Fadila. People usually called her “Dila”. She was born on January 25th ,1995, in Surabaya, has hobbies of playing instruments, karaoke, and playing playstation. So, this article will tell you about her, as long as she become HROD CIMSA Padjadjaran University for period of 2014-2015.

Hmm my motivation became Official team CIMSA Unpad? Actually, it was simple. Life would be more meaningful if you give meaning to the others. CIMSA itself is Center for Indonesian Medical Students Activities. Its the abbreviation. CIMSA is more than just organization.

Its like a family that help each other for better changes. Not only the changes for yourself but also for Indonesia.

Although rarely or never complete if the meeting is held, but I still happy if I see positive changes and happiness from all of the members. Just like my dream, give the meaning and good memories to others. Vini,Vidi,Vici. I came, I see, I win. Because I believe everyone was born to be a champion. The differences are the prayer and efforts. If lose, maybe it is not in the correct timing.

God always listening and always understanding. So, what are you waiting to have more meaningful life? You can start from now.

Soon will be conducted management turnover, 2015-2016, I hope next Official team are people with caring attitude, genuine, love CIMSA and all of the members. Those are the important points. Last but not least, I wanna say, “CHAMPION! CHAMPION! Because we are the CHAMPION!”

Stephanie D. community development director

Stephanie Dharmaputri, Community Development Director of CIMSA Unpad 2014-2015. She preferred being called Fani. Born in Bandung, on February 11th 1994, she likes to spend her free time with sleeping and eating. She also enjoys swimming.

Her favorite quote is Ora et Labora which means “pray and work” For me, CIMSA is a place that makes it possible for us, medical students to serve the community while at the same time get many experiences and new friends. CIMSA is really fun and exciting, it’s beyond words!

What’s your motivation to join the official members? Actually at first the thought of registering to be an official had never really crossed my mind. But then my seniors said that it’s fun and enjoyable. It makes you get to know more people. And it is totally worth it. It sounds really interesting so I decided to give it a try.

Becoming an official is a really valuable experience. It made me become closer with people that I was not really close before. Then it also broadens your contacts as it gives you the chance to meet members from other university, national officers, SC. It doesn’t only made you closer but also makes you know more. For me personally, as Community Development Director, I get additional experience and stories to share while I work in cooperation with PKM.

My message for CIMSA is to keep growing, keep making new projects and be more creative and innovative, but also do not ever forget the original purpose of CIMSA itself. Members of CIMSA should also be more active not just merely “be active”! I also wish CIMSA would remain popular with its hilarious and exhilarating ice breakings.

My dream? Surely it is to become a successful doctor, one who would be useful for the community. I also want to make my parents proud of me, that’s my biggest wish, the one I strive to fulfill.

Tommy G.S project development director

Tommy Gunardi S is the Project Development Director of CIMSA FK Unpad. Born in Jakarta, March 12 1994, Tommy likes to read and play badminton. Tommy dreams to try new things, and take his parents and friends around the world.

For me, CIMSA gives me the opportunity to pay my real and concrete contribution to others. I applied as an official because I want to contribute more to others. I also want to be in charge in the area of focus that I’m interested in. As an official, I was given more responsibility that pushes me to work, and the work that I’m required to do is in harmony with my passion.

Being a PDD, I am urged to be active in both local and national. I talk with PCs from other local through chat-meeting. Before doing the chat-meeting, I have to prepare by working on the tasks due before the chat-meeting. In local scope, I have to talk to the PDD team and SCOs regarding projects being done. I have to remind them to work quickly between their busy days as a medical student.

This could be a little bit tricky because one project is often affected by other projects.

Anyway, I am very happy of being the PDD. It turns out that if we’re willing to work hard in CIMSA, we will experience more contributions and professionalism of the other members. The advantage of being a PDD is that I get to be involved in all the SCOs and their projects.

It helps me to see the colorfulness of our projects. It also turns out that our projects, when observed thoroughly, are incredibly cool and beneficial.

Finally, I hope that CIMSA will contribute more. I also hope that the CIMSA alumni and members would bond even more.

Zulfa Zahra

marketing, campaign, and advocacy director

Well this Zulfa Zahrah, she is a Marketing Campaign and Advocacy Director (MCAD) in CIMSA Unpad. She was born in Bandung, on 14th of September 1994. She has an unique hobby.. yeah, “Jajan” may be we can call it shoping. She also has many dreams, they are a cakes & cookies shop, being a woman who can give opportunity to work for people, and improving health of the village where her parent came from.

There is a spceial quote from her “If not now then when”.

Okay let’s talk about CIMSA. Zulfa thinks that CIMSA is the place to study, improve skills & sharing. CIMSA is fun, and also professional, she said “I can’t give everything to CIMSA, but CIMSA gave me everything”. She wants get some experience and knowledge, so she choosed CIMSA. She also has the talent in marketing, and it motivated her tobe an MCAD. She wants CIMSA’s campaign and projects become famous in everywhere.

Being a part of official CIMSA is fun, some problems will be faced but these problems will lead you tobe a good decission maker with good mind. And being an MCAD will lead person to make some inovation with campaign method by make a good relation with people. She hopes that all of CIMSA’s projets will be better and being the best, and still serve some of fun activities that can lead the member tobe a good worker.

Sonya Alexandra media and communication director

Loves blogging and eating; she started become a member of CIMSA and join the media and communication team. For her, CIMSA is the place where she found her passion, sharpened her talents, and used them not for herself. She felt in love with CIMSA and decided to be a part of official team, despite all of the uncertainty she felt, because she knew there were so much things she could do with CIMSA. “No man can receive a thing unless it’s given from heaven”, Ale, she use to be called, believes that everything happened for a reason and a good one, likewise her ups and downs as the media and communication director. Learning new things and getting to know great people are just a few things she got from being official.

STAPES was said to be her biggest achievement this year, but she know there can be much more next year.

She hopes CIMSA will continue to grow and become an impact for the community. “CIMSA is full of great resources, and we have big dreams of empowering medical students and improving nation;s health”, she said, “all we need is to take it as more than a motto”.

Assica Permata alumni director

Assica Permata was born on April 22nd, 1995. She is one of the members of official team. She chose Alumni Director eventually.

“I was once not interested in registering myself as an officials. But, I chatted with the previous Alumni Director and I thought I haven’t done anything for CIMSA Unpad. So then I registered myself.”

“CIMSA is way too fun! It has different atmosphere compare to others, I guess, it is kind of more relaxed.”

Assica, who likes food travelling much, thought that being an official, especially Alumni Director is really fun that she can maintain relationship with the alumnus. She can converse with them then she knew that CIMSA is not only doing projects of each standing committee, but she learned everything. She learned how to communicate with different type of people by being the Alumni Director.

“I’m planning to give buckets of flowers on the Doctor’s Oath to the 2009 batch and for the Bachelor’s degree graduation.” She also planned to have some gathering on the next CGN (CIMSA GOT NEWBIE) so then the new and old official will meet each other.

“BE ACTIVE! I kind of having thought, not all CIMSA members have actuated this motto.” She closed the interview.

Renzavaldy R. supervising council

Renzavaldy Rusli or people usually called him “Renza” has became LOCO one period before and now in this period, he become Supervising Council (SC) CIMSA Padjadjaran University for period of 2014-2015.

For me, CIMSA is an organizations than can develop ourselves in many sector, the peoples inside CIMSA are heterogeneous, critical, cool, open minded, heart-warmed. So I can say, CIMSA is a second family for me.

I feel one year became an official team of CIMSA still not enough for me, because I feel still have debts in this CIMSA, so that’s why I become SC in the perios of 2014-2015. Being a part of the official team especially SC, I think I had fun with this. Being a SC can have intervention to the other official team in giving the advices or appreciations. This job is not too heavy, but we can keep update about CIMSA. I really look forward for the next official team of CIMSA, hopefully all of you can implement evidence-based project, so here we have an assessment of the project itself, whether the project is done successfully or not, know what is the problem inside and know the solution. I hope this can be improved again. And I hope you make a good and famous project so we can be renowned outside, no matter if the project we made is small, but we had a rich, cool, and good quality inside the project. So hopefully the members can be proud of that, and be proud become a part of CIMSA.

Stefanie Y.U. supervising council

For her, CIMSA is a place for medical students to grow more than usual student who only studied. Through CIMSA we can develop soft skill, had direct experience that not everyone had, like live chat and share experience with ODHA. In CIMSA National, we can have many friends everywhere.

“CIMSA Unpad is one of my family in FK. CIMSA Unpad always had a different activity and also involves cool and inspiring resources, so I am happy and proud to participate or became a committee in any activities.”

She became a LORA period 2013-2014 because she loves SCORA, she want to develop SCORA’s member and SCORA itself to be the best for member, faculty of medicine, and society. She also became a SC (Supervising Council) because she still can’t be separated from CIMSA and she want to help her junior who served as official.

There are different impression became a LORA and SC. “I was so happy became LORA, I could help my friends to make a project.

And I was glad that we got an award from SCORA National. And became SC, to be honest I couldn’t make effort in certain direction in my vision. Anyway I was happy because juniors can grow more when became officials, so became an official was exciting although there was difficult phase.”

“I hope CIMSA can always grow more especially for society. Until a time when people hear a medical student, they can immediately remember CIMSA. So, be the best CIMSA Unpad! And do your best that you can do as long as it works everywhere, especially CIMSA, because in the end, everything is just a story. So from now, let make a story that will not be forgotten stories and memorable.”

Dea Aprilianti supervising council

Dea Aprilianti is a Supervising Council of CIMSA FK Unpad. She has a lot of dreams—so many that even she couldn’t decide which one is the uppermost. Her favorite quote is: preventive is the best medicine.

CIMSA is the organization in which I grow. CIMSA also gives me family and precious experiences. I applied as an SC because during my time as an LPO, I felt that I haven’t done enough to help my members grow. I hope that I could help the CIMSA members to grow, through first helping the officials.

Being an SC, I am glad that I can continue being a part of CIMSA. I can share my experiences and advices though maybe not that much. Overall, I am really happy that I can be even more involved.

The most memorable experience as an SC for me is when I discussed CIMSA and the officials with other SC and how hard yet pleasant it was to give feedback and try to understand the characters of the officials and other SCs. I hope that the members would keep themselves even busier in CIMSA. Be a local official or even better, a national official. I would like to see the members encourage themselves to be even more participative in national meetings to gain more experiences

Nisrina M. supervising council

Not enough for her become official team in one period. Nisrina Mardhiyah or people usually called her “Nici” has became VLE and now she is Supervising Council (SC) CIMSA Padjadjaran University for period of 2014-2015. A woman who was born in Bandung, October 7th 1993, and has hobby of singing, will tell you about her experiences in CIMSA Padjadjaran University.

I think become official team, VLE, is not enough for me. That’s too fast and there are many remain things that should be done. At least, if I become Supervising Council (SC), I still can help VLE and other official team although just little things and don’t participate directly.

For me, CIMSA Padjadjaran University is interesting. Specially, if there is national meeting, members of CIMSA Padjadjaran University will get new friends or maybe boyfriend/ girlfriend hehe. Then, the projects in CIMSA Padjadjaran University have good qualities and always extraordinary.

I have many experiences during become official team in CIMSA Padjadjaran University, difficulties and happiness. The difficulties that I face are tired and the way how to think out of the box.

However, despite the difficulties, many things that make me happy to be Supervising Council (SC) CIMSA Padjadjaran University. First, for my time management, I can divide my time wisely. Second, I can learn other people characteristics and know how to making workgroup with them. And the last, I found my new family in CIMSA. Time flies fast. Soon will be conducted management turnover, 20152016. I hope the next Official team in CIMSA Padjadjaran University will responsible to their choices.
