Hari Gizi Nasional

National Nutrition Day 2024

The series of offline campaign activities for held by SCOPH CIMSA began with a ground campaign on March 3 at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Apart from the ground campaign, SCOPH CIMSA also held free health check-ups for the public. It didn't stop there, the series of activities continued on March 10 at the Kadibeso Village Hall. SCOPH CIMSA held free health check-ups with posyandu caregivers and provided education about maternal and child nutrition.

During the two days of the campaign, happiness and warmth were felt throughout the series of activities. The activity was conducted with the help of the organizing committees, RC 5, LPOs from UKDW, UGM, and and UMY. During the activity, SCOPH CIMSA members got the opportunity to meet and interact with many people, especially the people of Bantul. On this occasion, we were also able to listen to their stories and complaints regarding malnutrition and

their health. We are also happy to be able providing education about malnutrition to the general public and also have a brief discussion. The public was very enthusiastic. Even though the campaign lasted quite tiring and takes time, SCOPH CIMSA members were having a great time. Apart from that, through this activity, we were also able to meet and get to know SCOPH CIMSA members from the other locals, therby increasing many new relationships.

The impact that can be felt from National Nutrition Day is massive. Therefore in future years, it is hoped that National Nutrition Day can be held in other cities so that Indonesian people from other cities can also get the impact of utrition Day in the years to come.

The workshop was conducted in Indonesia alongside with the other SCO’s workshops during IFMSA Sub-Regional Training (SRT) 2024. The theme for this year’s TPHT was malnutrition with the goal of supporting IFMSA policy document entitled

“Food for Health and Sustainability”.

We believe that raising this topic within IFMSA NMOs is critical to promote a healthier global society. This commitment is also in line with WHO global action plan to reduce malnutrition worldwide, and also the actions of the Indonesian Minister of Health which

focuses on improving public nutrition and reducing stunting. There was great enthusiasm with 80 people registering and 24 of them were selected as TPHT trainees. They with various knowledge to plan, conduct, and evaluate training public health related topic. They’ve also passed graduation training qualification which was directly supervised by IFMSA trainers. IDT 2024 was preceeded with pre-event agenda: a poster design competition which aimed to improve the delegates' ability to convey education through the media of posters. The winning posters were used as educational material during social program and given to health facilities during clinical visit agenda.

On the first day, the delegates were given a warm welcome and the opportunity to get to know each other during Welcoming Party. Don't forget the tour visit to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Education and Training Center. 2024 World Week Immunization

A Week Saving Countless Lives

Every year, in the last week of April, the global community celebrates World Immunization Week. WHO with all countries work together in promoting vaccines that could give a chance for the children, adults, and communities to survive from diseases, allowing them to have a greater quality of life.

“Humanly Possible: Saving lives through Immunization”

This year, WHO brings as the theme of World Immunization Week 2024 that will be held between 24--30 April 2024. The campaign will also celebrate half a century of the Expanded Programme on Immunization that was established in 1974 to improve and strengthen immunization to reduce the morbidity of vaccinepreventable diseases, such as diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, tuberculosis, and poliomyelitis. The targets are infants, children, and all pregnant women.

Act TO MAKE Impact

Bulan Imunisasi Anak Nasional in 2022

After the pandemic of COVID-19, the children immunization rate decreased due to the wide disruption of healthcare services. The data from UNICEF shows about 67 million children globally were not vaccinated in the last few years, the largest sustained decline in childhood immunization in about 30 years. The effort to improve immunization coverage in Indonesia has been continuously intensified until now. Due to this condition, Indonesia organized with the aim of achieving the immunization coverage target for children across the country.

National Immunization Week of Polio in January and February 2024.

Indonesia also programmed Two doses of Polio vaccine have been accepted by 8,7 million childrens in targeted areas. The Health Ministry and WHO also UNICEF made a collaboration with 74 cities in Indonesia to succeed the program.

Now, the immunization coverage in Indonesia has reached 94,9% (Health Ministry Indonesia, 2023). Although the percentage has improved, complete immunization for all Indonesian children remains necessary. It means that around 5% or 240.000 children in Indonesia still haven’t received these additional protection that could shield them from diseases.

As a , our main focus is to play an active role in preventing diseases and promoting health. As future health care providers, it’s important for us to have an updated knowledge and positive attitude towards immunization. Involve yourself in educating and empowering people about preventive care such as healthy lifestyle, disease prevention, and immunization. Moreover, we may conduct research projects and then advocate for policies or public health initiatives to stakeholders.

Let’s bring the World Immunization Week as momentum to show the world that a healthy world, for every child, is

Unreveal Behind The Butterflies LUPUS:

Have you ever heard of ? That's right; this is the name for lupus, because its symptoms mimic those of other diseases, making it a little difficult to diagnose. Lupus is one of the autoimmune diseases in which the immune system attacks its own tissues, thus causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage to the affected organs. a disease with a thousand faces

The signs and symptoms of lupus are numerous and differ from person to person, which often leads to misdiagnosis of patients with lupus. Others may only experience rashes on the nose and cheeks; in fact, a butterfly-shaped rash on the face, known as the , is a characteristic or classic sign of lupus, affecting approximately 90% of people with the condition. Some people can also experience arthralgia (joint pain), myalgia (muscle pain), swollen knees, and fever. There are also those who experience fatigue all the time, which can eventually lead to kidney problems. Lupus symptoms typically follow a pattern of flares and remissions, meaning that during the flare phase, symptoms worsen, while in the remission phase, symptoms improve or even resolve completely. butterfly rash

18

Many people still have misconceptions related to this LUPUS disease, so that myths often appear in society. Let's discuss these myths one by one.

Myth #1

Lupus can be contagious

The fact is that the basis of this lupus disease is autoimmune, which cannot be transmitted through physical contact, such as other viral or bacterial infectious diseases. So, you won't get it if you're near people with lupus.

Myth #2

If there are no rash butterflies, then you don't get lupus

In fact, although the butterfly rash is a hallmark of lupus, some symptoms such as joint pain, dry eyes, sores in the mouth, fatigue, and hair loss can be symptoms if you have lupus.

Myth #3

Lupus has only one type

In fact, lupus has various types; it's just that the most common is systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). For other types of lupus, there is discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), causing disc-like lesions due to sunlight, there is drug-induced lupus occurring when 3-6 months after taking certain drugs, neonatal lupus lupus which occurs in infants at birth because their parents have lupus as well. Usually, to find out the presence or absence of neonatal lupus, the doctor will do a screening while still in the womb, and is included in high-risk. But don't worry: Most babies born to mothers with lupus are in good health.

EAGLE

Enhancing Awareness Concerning the Possibility of Tuberculosis Occurrences and Its Prevention

EAGLE is an activity by SCOPH CIMSA FK

Unila to commemorate World Tuberculosis Day. This activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness about the dangers of tuberculosis (TB) and its relation to smoking, particularly in light of Bandar Lampung's low Case Detection Rate (CDR) in 2022.

The series of events began with a preactivity training on March 29 that was delivered by an IFMSA-Certified PHT. EAGLE then proceeded with two main activities and an air campaign on the next two days. The first main activity was a seminar on March 30, and it was attended by a total of 48 students coming from 4 different high schools. The participants were sent from each high school's OSIS and PMR students. The activity began with an educational session provided by a local doctor. Next we had a demonstration highlighting the dangers of cigarette

smoking, followed by a forum group discussion. Additionally, we did early screening for TB on each participant through a website called Sobat TB.

There were two additional events on the next day, March 31. The air campaign took place through radio broadcasting on Radio RRI Pro 2 FM Lampung and was delivered by a IFMSA-Certified PHTs. Simultaneously, a public discussion was conducted as the second main activity via Zoom Meeting. The discussion was attended by panelists from the Unila Faculty of Medicine and the Association of Indonesian Lung Specialist Doctors (PDPI).

EAGLE concluded with a post-activity involving the distribution of digital and physical posters. Additionally, a post-test via Google Form and an Instagram stories quiz were conducted 30 days after the activity. The posters were also published on Instagram (@cimsaunila). Participants of Main Activity 1 were encouraged to disseminate the information they obtained through their social media channels. These activities led to increased knowledge and awareness among participants, highlighting the importance of TB prevention.

SERENADE is an activity held to celebrate International Women’s Day and World Health Day with the theme of ’Creating a Safe Space for All Women’.

SERENADE has two main series activities. The first one is called Lullaby (Lessons on Violence Against Women and How to Handle It) and it was held at SMAN 4 Denpasar on March 17 and SMAS (SLUA) Sawaswati on April 1. We did various agendas: educational lesson by Hopehelps Unud, sharing sessions with peer counselors, and a workshop on how making pepper spray.

The second activity was public discussion with KEMENPPA, Bali Sruti, Bali Bersama Bisa, and a meditation workshop by the Suryani Institute for Mental Health on April 6.

The third activity was air campaign through Instagram: Express Your Support for Fighters and Concern to End Violence (EXISTENCE) for a week, which includes a quiz about gender-based violence, twibbon, and campaign video (collaborated with Hopehelps Udayana).

SERENADE aims to raise the awareness of gender-based violence in daily life, its effects on mental health, how to report it, and how to handle it. Furthermore, it is aimed to provide a platform for the general public to voice their support for violence fighters.

SERENADE created significant effects, as evidenced by the 57 public and 131 targeted students who completed the assessment. The OC's knowledge has increased, as well as students of SMAN 4 Denpasar (47 to 71,25) and SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 (36,67 to 51,2). We also had published a booklet on gender-based violence and mental health, a video campaign that has received over 2500 views. We also reached 576 engagements for the air campaign. Intervention, and Campaign for Second-Hand
