Vet and Groomer Sophie Bell joins BIGA Member Discussion Boards
Sophie is the vet behind Ask The Vet on BIGA Voice
Tails and tongues will be wagging at the news that vet and groomer Sophie Bell has joined BIGA Voice as one of its specialist advisors taking member questions on Ask The Vet.
BIGA Voice is the online chat forum for members of the British Isles Grooming Association (BIGA). The forum features specialist advisors across Accountancy, Business, Insurance, HR Consultancy, Dog Behaviour and Grooming.
As a vet with a hands-on appreciation of the role groomers play in animal welfare, Sophie explains that “dog groomers are an extra pair of eyes and often spot things that the owner does not.”
“I am proud to be working with BIGA to support groomers, to provide them with a wealth of extra knowledge and to add to their amazing skill set.”
Sophie is likely recognised by many groomers for her company, Animal Love Pet-First Aid, through which she provides educational courses and webinars. The training has been highly rated and well-received, particularly over the last year of the pandemic.
“We’re so pleased to have Sophie answer member questions on BIGA Voice,” says Director Heidi Anderton, “not just for her combined expertise as a vet and groomer, but also because she’s friendly and approachable and has this great quality of putting you immediately at ease.”
“It’s this,” continues Heidi, “that is the spirit of BIGA Voice.” Heidi argues that it hasn’t been social media’s finest hour over the last few months. The member discussion boards, by contrast, “are a safe friendly space where you can ask a question without fear of ridicule.”
BIGA has consistently endeavoured to build bridges with others across the industry and in business to offer value to its membership. The BIGA Show, for example, regularly welcomed guest speakers and exhibitors across insurance, animal first aid, HR practices, dog behaviour in the salon, alternative therapies and more. Now, with BIGA Voice, members can put their questions to the advisors easily online.
Indeed, as Sophie echoes, “working together means we can use one another’s expertise to create a better life for our animals.”
