BADGE MAKER BadgeMaker Lite Entry Level ID software - 100 record capacity. This is the perfect, entry level package for the low volume user. Up to 100 records can be stored in a single database, together with 4 card layouts.

BM LITE software enables card design and card personalisation on demand.

You are in control of the complete card issuing process. Your template layout can include any graphics, logos, pictures and both static and dynamic text (name, number expiry date etc.), limited only by your imagination. Each database can hold up to 10,000 records and the software is capable of single or double sided printing. You can add either a photograph or signature to each record.

BM 4400 software enables card design, data management and card personalisation on demand. You control the complete card issuing process from managing the data to designing the badge layouts. Your template layout can include any graphics, logos, pictures and both static and dynamic text (name, number, expiry date, etc), limited only by your imagination. Add the required personal data (name, ID number, etc.) and capture the person’s photo. This can be done with any Twain/WIA compliant device.

HoloKote® - low-cost anti forgery device

Colour cards are printed using a thermal transfer YMCKO dye film.

After the colour image has been printed onto the card, the clear “O” panel is applied to protect the image from fading or scratching. MAGICARD’s thermal transfer printer models have a unique facility for frosting a security image into the clear overcoat during the print process. This is a patented feature and unlike most other security logos, it involves no extra cost of printing. The unique HoloKote feature is daylight visible by tilting the card to view the watermark pattern. For even greater security, HoloPatch cards combined with HoloKote provide a distance-visible security mark allowing a security guard or colleague to easily verify badge authenticity from a distance of six feet or more. It’s the ultimate in card security simplicity.

Last year Magicard gave you a rewritable card feature as standard on all Pronto printers… at no extra cost whatsoever. Unlike other rewritable printers in the market, this gave you the choice of printing both colour and rewritable cards from the same printer. You liked this flexibility, so Magicard has gone a step further to offer rewritable technology as standard on all its direct-to-card printers. Rewritable cards have one glossy side in PVC for colour/monochrome dye sublimation printing and a matte finish rewritable side with a blue or black thermo chromic material that can be printed for up to 500 rewrite cycles. So with the Enduro and Rio Pro you can, for example, batch print a colour design on one side of your cards, remove the ribbon and then use the rewrite feature and hand-feed slot to individually print, erase and update information in blue or black over and over on the other side.

Professional The innovative Prima Reverse Transfer printing technology The Prima 4 printer’s reverse transfer printing technology delivers superb print quality and is the ideal choice for printing technology embedded cards, as well as high volume batch printing.

The process works like this: The ID card image is printed from the YMCK dye film onto a clear retransfer film in a “reverse image” , and is then laminated onto the card surface. The printed image is protected from scratching and fading by the clear film layer.

In comparison, dye sublimation printers transfer the dyes directly onto the card surface using thermal transfer dye diffusion technology, followed by a thin acrylic varnish. Both methods use YMCK dye films, but the reverse transfer method uses an additional polyester transfer film.

Advantages of Reverse Transfer technology are: • Amazing print quality

Loading the over laminate rolls is extremely user friendly, the rolls are front-loaded. The Inline laminator unit is user programmable, temperature and speed settings can be adjusted via the front panel display for optimum results with all card materials, including PVC, PVH, ABS, 100% PET and even Polycarbonate.

Choose pre-printed cards for the highest quality reproduction of logos or graphics, or where static text or a graphic is required on the reverse. If you require on site personalisation then a pre-printed card will reduce printing time per card and speed up the issuing process. Many applications require precise colour matching of Pantone colours or more intricate, security designs are required, then it is advisable to use pre printed cards. Security printing is also available. Pre-printed cards are also advisable when true, edge-to-edge printing is required, when metallic inks are needed and are also ideal for membership cards, where full colour print is required but only monochrome printing is required for card personalisation.

Security Printing With the growing numbers and reducing costs of card printers now available, card issuers are facing an uphill battle against forgeries and card copies. Much of this can be avoided by introducing simple security features into the card design.

Used in conjunction with card printers that also add a security laminate overlay, secure, tamperproof cards can be produced.

Depending on the level of security required, there are a range of printing techniques that can be used.

Holo Designs For extra security we can pre-print your cards with a holodesign. A combination of diffractive and non-diffractive foils produce a 2D, hologram-like effect, yet with a low set-up cost. Gold and silver foil available for a high security, high quality finish.

CARDS

Guilloche These fine line, intricate lace patterns are impossible to reproduce with a desktop printer. They provide a watermark style backdrop to your cards, similar to those used on banknotes, passports etc.

UV Printing This covert feature involves printing a design in a clear ink which is invisible in daylight, but clearly visible when exposed to a UV light.

Holo Images These can include intricate detail and patterns to near photographic quality within a diffractive or metallic foil.

Holograms Offer the ultimate in security. Layers of images are overlapped giving an illusion of depth. Highly secure and ideal for larger, security projects.

Micro Text Cards with pre-printed text that can only be read with magnification or with UV exposure. Colour Shifting Ink Cards With a specified image of colour shifting inks formulated to change from one colour to another.

This feature is part of the inner layer of the card and cannot be scratched, or removed.

HoloPatch/HoloKote For cost effective security, standard holopatch cards can be used in conjunction with Magicard printers and Holokote keys.
