Paper Towns (2016). Although it was a Book to Movie adaptation from Author, John Green but basically, the story itself was the Inspiration. originally I wanted to be an Author as someone who was raised in Fanfiction and seeing one of your favorite books come to life (and getting disappointed because the characters didn’t look like what you imagined) inspired me to create and tell stories, not just to emulate my favorite authors and vloggers during the tumblr era of 2014. but to inspire and instill hope to angsty teenage kids who feel lost. Like the coming of age media I consumed back then.

Generally, horror/fantasy/slice of life films are what inspired me in filmmaking, madadami akong influences such as Perfect Blue, The Craft Saving Sally Sid & Aya Fight Club, Perks of Being a Wallflower Bliss, Heathers, etc. Madami pa AHAHAHAHAHAH. I think the reason kung bakit nagustuhan ko yung mga films given below is because merong emotional realism, resonance and complexity sa narrative and sa characters esp writing a story that hits deeply with well-done cinematic shots, na mapa slice of life man yan, horror or fantasy, may touch of reality pa din that makes it engaging and not mundane.

I think yung pinaka-nagpa-”WOW” sa’kin na gusto ko yung pelikula was 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten (2016) ni Direk Petersen Vargas. Yung pagka-hilig ko kasi sa film nag-start lang siya when I was in Senior High, and then nung around 2016 I’ve been watching indie films gano’n for the artsy vibes but nung napanuod ko yung 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten (2016), sobrang nag-resonate sa’kin yung film? To the point na napaisip ako na, “Wow, I think gusto ko rin makagawa ng gan’tong pelikula.”. Kasi yung core ng aking filmmaking is more of telling the untold stories of the LGBTQ+, kasi I believe that we deserve to have the same spotlight and stories with that of those heterosexuals gano’n, kumbaga it comes with own expreriences ganon!

Miss Americana (2020). One of the many films that inspire me to continue creating til this day is Taylor Swift’s first film documentary, Miss Americana. As a Swiffer and a 6ft blondie enthusiast, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this film over and over again. I am really not the type to enjoy documentaries at all, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that Taylor’s documentary has inspired me on so many levels. Her film didn’t only tackle her dazzling life in the entertainment industry, but she was also able to connect with the viewers as she told the truth about what was happening behind the cameras. Likewise, she was also able to tackle so many intimate, romantic, yet at the same time sensitive and political aspects she has been through in her career.

Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018).

The film that inspire me is called Where The Wild Things Are (2009) directed by Spike Jonze. This is one of the best film I ever watched in my opinion, because somehow I think it’s everyone story like “all the wild things they stir up within the grown-up.” basically the film’s meaning is “the effect a child’s emotions”

List of achievements/proud moments as a CIITZEN:

- Student Leader/Officer of 24 Frames for 3 years

- Organized Event under 24 Frames (Sine Sembreak)

- Consecutive Dean’s List (1st year to 2nd year)

Favorite Place in CIIT?

CIIT Library/Cafe

Favorite memory in CIIT: My favorite moment in CIIT is when we organized an event called “Sine Sembreak,” because after how many years of being stuck in the pandemic, we were able to organize an event wherein student film makers had a chance to do short films again

Advice to the CIITZENS:

I think the only advice that I can give to CIITZENS is to try to balance time for school work and personal lives. Yes, schoolwork can be heavy, but as long as you’re in the right circle and you try to balance things between academics and life, it will make your life easier.
