Fonts speak to you like how a piece of artwork does and looking for the right combination can be a lengthy task for someone with a keen eye for design. The uneasy feeling in your stomach when two fonts don’t match the way you wanted them to. Like couples, you want them to complement and bring the best out of each other.

Font combinations are essential to design, they establish a hierarchy in text and guide the reader in identifying which ones are the most important to the least. It also gives a page or a graphic to have a personality and a zing–making it interesting and aesthetically pleasing.

Aqua Grotesque & Roboto Slab Thin

This pair is great for web designs, they are modern and futuristic. Their bold and light pairing complement each other in the most adequate amount, not too much and not too little.

Bebas Neue & Old Standard TT

Bebas Neue is a crowd favorite as well, it is commonly used as a heading or a title font. Its condensed and allcaps typeface goes well with Old Standard TT, which resembles an old-style font.

Holland & Baskerville

Holland is also an elegant font with a dancing baseline, it resembles handwritten cursive letters. Having it paired with Baskerville, a font with a transitional serif typeface is a good combination of elegance, old style, and modern. It also gives a feel of timelessness.

Bon Vivant & Lucida Grande

Bon Vivant is an elegant, slightly serifed font, and pairing it with Lucida Grande, a clear sans–serif font, allows it to stand out even more.

Montserrat & Courier New

Montserrat is a crowd favorite, it can be seen in many publication materials and infographics (it is our school’s logo font too!), this light and calm typeface goes great with Courier New, a thin, sleek, sans-serif typeface that resembles a typewriter.

Rock Salt & Eligible Sans

Rock Salt resembles a handwritten, felt-tip marker look that catches the attention of the reader. Pairing it with Eligible Sans, a calm and easy-toread text allows the reader to easily identify the body from the loud heading.

Oswald & Lato

Oswald is a classic font used in strong and bold headlines, it is also commonly used in resumes. It gives a feeling of confidence and professionalism, so pairing it with Lato, a smaller text with a less intimidating nature is a good choice.
