The Basel fair brings the international art world together, featuring over 200 leading galleries and more than 4,000 artists from five continents. Many highquality exhibitions take place concurrently in and around Basel, creating a region-wide art week. Miami hosts the only American subsidiary of the fair of this magnitude.

The artwork showcased often reflects the current political and social climate of the time, as well as a peek into how art will influence trends within other sectors in the coming year.

This Forecast Report takes a look at highlights from the December 2023 Art Basel fair and identifies the current intersection of art and design trends to give us a glimpse into future themes and patterns we can expect to see in the built environment.
