D E S T I N AT I O N : ROMANCE WEDDINGS ASHORE A wedding with Royal Caribbean is so much more than the usual destination wedding. We like to call them multi-destination weddings, because you can celebrate the highest expression of your love and commitment in one sunny paradise after another. If you wish to have a ceremony ashore, your wedding planner will be happy to help you with the destination-specific details.

MARRIAGE DOCUMENTS Royal Weddings can assist you in obtaining a marriage license for many destinations. Unless otherwise indicated, both shipboard and destination weddings are legally recognized in the port of call. Royal Caribbean visits more than 200 ports worldwide, but here are a few of our most popular wedding destinations.

BAHAMAS/NASSAU Bahamas Marriage License: $525; must be obtained in person at the courthouse.

Legal ceremonies can only be performed on certain itineraries, as the ship must be in Bahamian waters (Coco Cay 速) for 24 hours prior to arriving in Nassau to meet the licensing requirements.

If either one of the couple has not been previously married, there is an additional fee of $40 per person ($75 per person for non-US citizens) paid in cash to the courthouse in Nassau on the day of the wedding.

BAHAMIAN MARITIME MARRIAGE LICENSE Shipboard Only (12 Nautical Miles at Sea) Maritime License: $800 marriage license processing and newspaper posting fee applies.

To ensure licensing documentation is processed in time, 120 days advance booking is required. Additional fees may apply.

BERMUDA Bermuda Marriage License: $550

Please note that your non-sailing guests will not be able to participate in events that take place onboard any ship in any port of call, due to security restrictions.

GRAND CAYMAN Grand Cayman Marriage License: $375 There is a charge of $10 per person for any wedding party over 10 guests at beach or gazebo. If cake and champagne are being purchased for parties over 10, this fee can be waived.

JAMAICA FALMOUTH/MONTEGO BAY/OCHO RIOS Jamaica Marriage License: $400 and two (2) witnesses are required.

Foreign citizens should check with their Marriage License Bureau for information regarding the need of an Apostille.

COZUMEL, MEXICO Shipboard (Symbolic only) Destination (Legal) Mexico Marriage License: $640 The blood test for Cozumel must be done prior to sailing, but within 20 days of the wedding ceremony. Four (4) witnesses are required and can be provided for $55 each. Additional fees for tourist visas, witnesses and blood work/test verification may apply. Additional translation fees will apply.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIO NS Can the Captain perform our ceremony, and will it be legal?

The Captain can perform your ceremony once the ship is in international waters. Your marriage will be legally recognized in the Bahamas. Check with your local governmental authorities to see if they will also recognize your marriage.

How do I get a marriage license for a wedding at sea?

The Bahamian maritime marriage license process is complex and requires at least 90 days for processing. Royal Weddings will assist you with obtaining your license to ensure all legal requirements in the Bahamas are met. Additional licensing fees apply.

Can I get married any day or night of the sailing?

There are certain limitations as to when your wedding can take place. Royal Weddings will make every effort to accommodate your preferred date but it is subject to the venue and officiant availability.

How far in advance do I have to book my wedding at sea?

All weddings at sea must be booked at least 90 days prior to sailing but we strongly encourage you to book as far in advance as possible.

May I bring guests to my wedding? If so, is there a limit?

For shipboard ceremonies, the maximum will depend of the capacity of the venue. For shipboard ceremonies taking place on the first day of sailing at the port of embarkation, up to 75 of your guests (out of your 150 total guest allotment) may be “non-sailing guests� that attend the ceremony but depart the ship before it sets sail. For shoreside ceremonies, you may add guests but capacity may be limited, depending on the location. Additional transportation, entrance and site fees will apply. Contact your wedding planner for specifics.

When getting married on the first day of the sailing, why do I have to be at the port early?

For weddings held on the first day of the cruise, we allow wedding parties priority boarding. Because of this, we require that members of wedding parties arrive at the pier by 10:30 a.m. to avoid congestion. Note that boarding times may vary by port.

What happens if it rains on my wedding day?

If the weather is unsuitable for an outdoor ceremony, alternate arrangements will be made at the discretion of the ship staff.

What should I wear? Are there any limitations?

From beach casual to full formal, the recommended attire for your event is totally up to you.

What is the different between an event coordinator, a wedding planner and a day-of coordinator?

The event coordinator is the first person you’ll talk to when you call Royal Weddings. They will assist you in choosing a package and completing your contract.

From there, your personal wedding planner will help you design all the details of your event. You may contact your wedding planner by email, schedule a phone appointment or meet in person at our Miami office. Once onboard, your day-of coordinator will execute all the details of your event in accordance with your contract. For needs beyond your event, please contact guest services once onboard for additional assistance.

What if a member of the wedding party or a guest has special needs?

Wheelchair, restroom and changing room accessibility vary by ship and by port, so please contact a Royal Weddings Planner for location specifications.

Who performs the ceremony?

In the United States, a Notary Public or a non-denominational officiant will preside. In non-U.S. ports, a non-denominational officiant will preside.

Legal ceremonies at sea are performed by the Captain or Staff Captain. Symbolic ceremonies at sea are performed by a nondenominational officiant.

Can we have a religious or other type of ceremony?

That varies from port to port. Your wedding planner will work with you to determine which port is best to accommodate your request or you may choose to bring your own officiant. Certain restrictions apply if your officiant is not sailing.

What about same-sex ceremonies?

Same-sex legal weddings are currently offered ashore, in U.S. ports and in ports abroad, where legally permissible. Legal same-sex weddings cannot be performed at sea, as Royal Caribbean ships are registered in the Bahamas. However, symbolic same-sex ceremonies can be performed at sea or at any port of call.

Is there an additional fee for Saturdays, Sundays or holidays?

Additional fees will apply on some holidays and weekends. Please contact your Royal Weddings Planner for complete details.

Is music provided at the ceremony?

Portable music systems are available for your shipboard ceremony. Traditional wedding pre-recorded music is provided, or you may bring your preferred music on a CD. Music is not provided for weddings held shoreside, but can be arranged at limited locations.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOOKING A ROYAL CELEBRATIONS EVENT Your Royal Celebrations Event begins by booking the Royal Weddings Package of your choice. After your package is booked and paid for, our wedding planner will work with you to customize your event, for example by adding special flower arrangements or food and beverage services. To select and then book your package, just follow these easy steps.

A. Review our package options with your Event Coordinator. Details on event packages can be found in this brochure.

B. Select your package. When you are ready to book your package, your Event Coordinator will: Send you a Royal Celebrations Package Agreement; and Send you an Event Questionnaire; and Temporarily (typically about 5 days) hold the venue space for your event.

C. You will then need to review, complete and sign: The Royal Celebrations Package Agreement; and The fully completed Event Questionnaire.

D. Once those documents are fully completed and signed by you, you must scan and email them back to Royal Celebrations at royalcelebrations@rccl.com. You may also fax the documents to 305-982-2177. Note each copy must bear original signatures.

E. After the signed Package Agreement is received, it will be reviewed by our staff for completeness and to determine whether Royal Celebrations can accommodate your request. If approved by Royal Celebrations, we will sign the Package Agreement and return the signed agreement to you via e-mail.

F. Based on your Package Agreement, your Event Coordinator will send you your initial Bill Summary, typically within 5 business days after we signed the Package Agreement. The charges will be added to your cruise reservation. If payment is not received by the time specified by your Event Coordinator, your Package Agreement may be canceled without further liability on our part.

G. After receiving timely payment in full, your Event Coordinator will schedule an appointment with your personal Wedding Planner. Typically, the first 30 minute appointment will be scheduled within 4 to 6 weeks after payment has been received. Your Package includes three 30 minute calls with the wedding planner. You may also contact your wedding planner via email. We strive to respond to your emails within 48 business hours.
