90th Christmas Pageant

The chimes rang for the 90th time on Dec. 12 and 14, thanks to the sacrifice and generous spirit of Pedro and his little brother.

If you don't know what we're talking about, then you missed the 90th annual "Why the Chimes Rang," CFS' student Christmas pageant that retells the classic short story in narration and pantomime. View the photo gallery from the event here.

CFS Choir Performing at Rich Lunardi Memorial Concert and at National Cathedral in D.C. No Super Bowl fever? Then join us in the Chapel on Sunday, February 1 at 4:00 p.m. (or stop by before kickoff!) for a benefit concert in memory of former Church Farm School college counselor and math teacher Rich Lunardi. The one-hour, free event (donations benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Network) features music by the Laudate Chorale of New Jersey and the CFS Choir.

If you're in the Washington, D.C. area, head to the National Cathedral on February 8 at 4:00 p.m., when the CFS Choir will perform alongside other high school choirs from the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal School Association.

Church Farm School Lessons and Carols December 2014 On December 16, a "Lessons and Carols" Chapel service was held, featuring hymns and readings by students and faculty/staff and wonderful music by the CFS and Middle School choirs. Alumni Reunion Weekend April 24-26, 2015

Ced Moise Receives Full Scholarship to Princeton University In October, three Church Farm School seniors were nominated as finalists for the QuestBridge Scholars program: Ced Moise, Mohammed Bappe and Steven Yuh. QuestBridge's mission is to "connect the world's brightest low-income students to America's best universities and opportunities."

On December 1, Moise received notice that QuestBridge will be providing him with a full academic scholarship to Princeton University, which accepted him via early decision. According to Tiffany Scott, CFS Director of College Guidance, "QuestBridge finalists exhibit high potential to be matched to a college, with specific consideration toward high academic achievement and a qualifying financial background. The likelihood is high that Bappe and Steven will also be considered for significant financial aid at leading colleges and universities. We are so proud of how hard these boys are working toward their college dreams!"

Church Farm School Gala Featuring "The Tonics" Coming to Wayne Art Center May 1

Building upon the success of the first ever Church Farm School Gala last year, we will be holding another fund and friend-raising event on May 1, 2015 at the Wayne Art Center. The theme this year is "Broadway Bound," and will feature the CFS Choir (who will be performing at Carnegie Hall in 2016), and the exciting Main Line a cappella group, "The Tonics," founded by Jim Buck and George Gephart. We hope you will join us for this second annual event, with all proceeds benefiting the school's mission. Registration will be live on our website soon, but in the meantime, inquire about becoming a sponsor or a patron by contacting Suzette Baird at sbaird@gocfs.net.

Alumni Happenings The CFS Alumni Association will meet on Thursday, January 15 at 7 p.m. in the Griffin Board Room, located on the third floor of Greystock Hall. Check Out Winter Sports at CFS On December 16, Church Farm School held its annual "Dinner and a Basketball Game" event for friends of the school. In addition to a great cheese steak dinner by our caterer, Sodexo, and the opportunity to meet coaches and varsity team members, our guests also got to watch a

ridiculously exciting game against Glen Mills. The Griffins came out on top, 56-53.

Winter track is also doing well. Osiris Nicholson, Nkosi Pile, Stephen Zarycranski and Ahmad Thomas, our 4x200 relay team, finished first overall out of 54 teams at the Lehigh Meet on December 13. They also placed first out of 34 schools at the Burdette Invitational on December 30. This weekend, the relay team travels to New York for the prestigious EmblemHealth Hispanic Games at the Armory. Finally, join us this Saturday, January 10 for the 28th Annual CFS Wrestling Invitational in the Founder's Pavilion. CFS will face off against 15 other varsity and JV wrestling teams. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. and runs until approximately 5:00 p.m.

Annual Fund

The 2014-2015 CFS Annual Fund drive is underway. We are looking for increased rates of participation among our parents, alumni, faculty/staff and friends.
