Rhythmically Sinking

How are you so lovely yet so scary? Sands ebb and flow in a rhythmic fashion. I hold few grains, wishing I could cash in. Pristine glass contains you and shines glary.

After days it seems arbitrary. A handful of loose grains breeds compassion. Spectating lives, my face is left ashen. Pages flip in my mind; a library.

A paralyzing figure engulfs me. Minutes to hours, hours to days, days to years ... Frustratingly slow yet scarily fast.

Writhing, I find myself her internee. Sand leaks fast, my face now sullied with tears. Glass shatters, shards now caressed at long last.
