Move including work on Hydra, Clear Pale Skin, and Wanted: ballet for a contemporary democracy exemplifies this creative process. Ben and Andy use a hands-on approach, which has developed from a diverse range of design experiences, with companies and productions including Danceworks, Playbox and the Adelaide Festival.

LUKE SMILES - Sound and Music Luke started dance training at the Miranda Kalgovas Ballet School, later graduating in 1994 from the VCA. Apart from being a founding member of Chunky Move, he has performed with Vis-à-vis Dance Canberra, The One Extra Dance Company, Meryl Tankard’s Australian Dance Theatre and Thwack. Under the name motion laboratories, Luke’s music work includes Corrupted 2, All The Better To Eat You With, Live Acts, Flexible, Clear Pale Skin and Wanted: ballet for a contemporary democracy for Chunky Move. He has also created music for Australian Dance Theatre productions including Birdbrain, The Age of Unbeauty, and Nothing.

MICHAELA FRENCH - Motion Graphics Designer Michaela French has a background in Fine Arts and has been working in the area of Film, Television and New Media for the last ten years. She is a graduate of the Canberra Institute of the Arts and the Digital Media Department of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. Michaela has written and directed a number of short films, ranging from drama and documentary to digital animation and video installation. Her award-winning film Flux has screened extensively at both national and international film festivals and new media events. Michaela’s recent work has included productions at the Melbourne Planetarium; the Australian Pavilion, Expo 2000, Hanover, Germany; the National Museum of Australia; Opera Australia and the Natural History Museum, Albuquerque, USA. Michaela is currently developing the script for her next short film, Obituary. JANE SUMMERS-EVE - Costume Designer After a successful career in the fashion industry, Jane moved to Melbourne to further her career knowledge in the arts. A lifetime fascination with costume making and design has culminated in a diverse and scattered career and work history. Her professional credits include work with Opera Queensland, Laurel Frank Costumes, Circus Oz, Bob Murphy Costumes, Playbox Theatre, Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, Johnaton N Shiff Developments, Micro-nite Productions and the television series Hi 8. Her costumes have also branched to feature films including Queen of the Damned, Don’t Peak and the current production of Ned Kelly. Wanted was Jane’s second commission for Chunky Move. DONNA ASTON - Production & Operations Manager Donna’s career in production and stage management spans 15 years taking her all over Australia and to the UK & USA. Her diverse experience covers theatre, dance, opera, contemporary music & festival production including Sarah Cathcarts’ Walking on Sticks, Tiger Country (Melbourne International Festival), Chamber Made Opera's Medea, Improvement: Don Leaves Linda (Melbourne International Festival), Tresno (Sydney Festival), The Two Executioners, Wide Sargasso Sea, Fresh Ghosts and Matricide The Musical. Donna has also worked on Voice, Jam & Videotape (Adelaide Festival), Artists Services’ Mum’s The Word, Dance Works & Stompin Youth Dance Co's Distance, the inaugural Big West Festival and The Ghost Wife. Donna joined Chunky Move in March 2000.
