World Premiere Miss Universal by Atlanta Eke Miss Universal proposes a global governance ensuring that every performance ever produced and presented will not submit to the friction and fragmentation of local imperatives. From this moment on, the singular mode of production in dance is Love. The universal solution is a choreographic problem. By Atlanta Eke Next Move Miss Universal is Atlanta Eke’s second work commissioned as part of our Next Move program – our commitment to the next generation of leading Australian dance makers. Each year, Chunky Move commissions a choreographer to create a new work, offering the artist full creative control and access to the resources and expertise of the Company. The opportunities borne out of Next Move are testament to its importance in the development of Australia’s unique choreographic voice. Atlanta Eke Atlanta Eke is an Australian artist, dancer and choreographer. She was commissioned for the 2014 Next Move triple bill It Cannot Be Stopped and created Fountain. She has performed the works of Marina Abramovics and Joan Jonas at the Kaldor Public Art Project #27: 13 Rooms in Sydney. Her solo Monster Body has been extensively presented at the 2012 NextWave Festival, 2013 Dance Massive Festival, MONA FOMA Festival Hobart, 2013 MDT Stockholm and BACKFLIP Feminism and Humour in Contemporary Art, among others. Monster Body received a nomination for a Green Room Award. In 2010 Eke was a DanceWEB Europe scholarship recipient and received NextWave Kickstart in 2011. In 2012 she was a Dancehouse Housemate and received an ArtStart Grant. Eke won the inaugural Keir Choreographic Award in 2014. Annabelle Balharry Annabelle Balharry is a BA Dance graduate of Victorian College of the Arts, and is currently studying the science of movement as an osteopathic student at RMIT. Balharry has worked with choreographers such as Atlanta Eke, Carlee Mellow, Sandra Parker, Sarah Aiken and Rebecca Jensen for Deep Soulful Sweats at Next Wave Festival, and has shown her own work at Dancehouse and Melbourne Fringe Festival. Chloe Chignell Chloe Chignell is a dance artist based in Melbourne. She has performed in numerous works including Marten Spangberg’s The Planet, Aphids’ Forever Now at MONA and in various projects with James Batchelor. In 2015 Chignell received an Ian Potter Travel grant and ArtStart grant. Chignell also co-curates Dance Speaks a Performance Lecture Program and was the 2014-15 Choreographic Intern at Dancehouse. She has recently undertaken the DanceWEB scholarship at ImpulzTanz, Vienna. Angela Goh Angela Goh is a dancer and choreographer. She has performed the work of Jane McKernan, Marina Abramovic, Joan Jonas, Tino Sehgal, and Marten Spangberg. Her work has been presented and supported by Movement Research (USA), Rimbun Dahan (MY), Next Wave, Critical Path and safARI. Her latest work Desert will premiere as past of the 2016 Next Wave Festival. She has received the danceWEB Europe scholarship, Next Wave Kickstart, and ArtStart grant.

Matthew Adey Matthew Adey is a production designer and theatre artist from Melbourne, working under the moniker House of Vnholy (HOV). He has collaborated with Choreographers Phillip Adams BalletLab, Shian Law, Atlanta Eke, Natalie Abbott, Rebecca Jensen, Melanie Lane, Sarah Aiken, Lilian Steiner, Phantom Limbs & Luke George and Jo Lloyd. HOV debuted his performance art installation MONO- in Melbourne and Adelaide and his new work HOMME premiered as part of the 2015 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Daniel Jenatsch Daniel Jenatsch is an artist, composer, musician and performer. He was a part of Chunky Move’s 2014 Next Move commission, It Cannot Be Stopped, as composer for Atlanta Eke‘s Fountain for which he received a Green Room Award nomination. His compositions for dance have been featured in the works of Jefta Van Dinther, DD Dorvillier, Irina Müller, Frank Willens and Frederic Gies. Jenatsch’s collaborative work has extensively toured internationally. He is part of music group Sky Needle and performance art collective New Forms of Life. Jenatsch is currently a Next Wave Kickstart recipient.

Claire Lambe Claire Lambe is a visual artist based in Melbourne. Represented by Sarah Scout Presents, Lambe completed her MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is currently undertaking a studio residency at Gertrude Contemporary (2014–2016). Her recent exhibitions include Neverwhere, Gaia Gallery, Istanbul (2015); Lurid Beauty NGV International, (2015); Miss Universal (with Atlanta Eke), Gertrude Contemporary 2015. Strangefellows Claire Lambe, Lisa Young Wyndham Arts Centre, Werribee, 2015; Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2014. SPRING 1883 Windsor Hotel, Melbourne.
