A MOVER AND SHAKER (Part 2)

WHY JESUS PERFORMED MIRACLES

Jesus did many other miracles in the presence of his followers that are not written in this book.

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Then, by believing, you may have life through his name.

(John 20:30-31 – New Century Version)

MIRACLE 1: Healing A Blind Man

(Mark 8:22-26 – John 9:1-7)

God’s work in our lives is always a process

Now all of us reflect the glory of the Lord as if we are mirrors; and so we are being transformed, metamorphosed, into His same image . . .

as the Spirit of the Lord accomplishes it. (2 Corinthians 3:18 – The Voice)

I am confident that the Creator, who has begun such a great work among you,

will not stop in mid-design but will keep on changing you until the day Jesus returns to redeem the world. (Philippians 1:6 – The Voice)

MIRACLE 2: Healing A Paralyzed Man (Luke 5:17-26)

God’s work in our lives always involves other people

Since we are all one in Christ, we belong to each other and each of us needs all the others. (Romans 12:5 – New Living Translation)

Don’t be interested only in your own life, but care about the lives of others too.

(Philippians 2:4 – Easy-to-Read Version

Help each other with your troubles and problems. This is the kind of law Christ asks us to obey. (Galatians 6:2 – New Life Version)

The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as Christians: every part is dependent on every other part . . .

If one part hurts; every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other person enters into the exuberance . . .

You must never forget this.

(1 Corinthians 12:25-27 – The Message)

MIRACLE 3: Jesus & Peter Walking On Water (Matthew 14:22-33)

God’s work in our lives always requires the right perspective

I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

(Psalm 16:8 – New International Version)

Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2 – New Living Translation)

Now stay focused on Jesus, who designed and perfected our faith. (Hebrews 12:2 – The Voice)

MIRACLE 4: Large Catch Of Fish (Luke 5:3-10)

God’s work in our lives always helps us reach our fullest potential

Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—

infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes . . . God can do anything, you know—

far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!

(Ephesians 3:20 – Living Bible/The Message)

No mere man has ever seen, heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord. (1 Corinthians 2:9 – Living Bible)

He has given us promises. These promises are of great worth and no amount of money can buy them.

Through these promises you can have God’s own life in you . . . (2 Peter 1:4 – New Live Version)

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."

(Matthew 19:26 – New Living Translation)

Every miracle has a message Every message has a meaning Every meaning has relevance for our lives today!
