Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!” (Matthew 16:13, 15-16 – GWT) God is God and only He can do things that mere humans cannot do. Jesus Himself claimed to be God. So, if Jesus was God, naturally He would have been able to perform miracles. And Jesus did just that. He healed the sick, walked on water and even raised the dead. WHY JESUS PERFORMED MIRACLES Jesus did many other miracles in the presence of his followers that are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Then, by believing, you may have life through his name. (John 20:30-31 – NCV)
