UPDOWN AND SEASON looking toward next season
T
his was an up and down season for the Lobos. They started off winning their first two games against Skyview and Pueblo Central, but ultimatley finished with a 3-7 record. A large factor in this was injuries. Despite the setbacks, they still tried their hardest all season. “I thought it was a pretty good season considering all of the injuries,” senior Jack Bedortha said. In spite of all of the injuries, the Lobos were able to maintain a steady run game throughout the season, having at least one rushing touchdown per game. Senior Gauge Womack led the running game, in addition to junior Nicolas Hudson.
“I feel like we’ve got a great team for next year. I feel really excited and can’t wait to see what is going to happen,” sophomore Quinn Phillips said. Going into next season, the team was very confident that they would be able to perform better and make the playoffs. While they may be losing a number of seniors, there are also a large number of players that will be returning to the team next season. “It was awesome to see the football team grow into the hardworking family that it became,” senior Mason Rosser said.
