After school work sessions, looming deadlines, talking to strangers. That’s what student media was all about. Whether you were in ewspaper, yearbook, LoboTrax, or Interactive Media, getting shoved out of your comfort zone was pretty much guaranteed. “I’m usually not very comfortable talking to people I don’t know, but since I joined yearbook I kind of had to learn how to approach strangers,” Sydney Ransel, freshman, said. But being in student media wasn’t just about interviews. Depending on which class they were in, the staff also had to write news articles, make and edit videos, and put ogether a yearbook. To do this, there was a lot they needed to learn. “In LoboTrax I’ve learned how to use Adobe programs like Audition, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere,” Hayden Brown, junior, aid. In student media, everyone formed deep friendships and made emories they will cherish forever. Many emotions flowed around the oom every day in student media: stress, worry, but mainly happiness and enjoyment. You could always walk into Mrs. Thompson’s room and see someone smiling or hear someone laughing. “There’s always someone who’s happy, who can brighten the rest of the room up,” Sabrynna Clate, freshman, said. “If we’re stressed about a deadline people are always willing to make us laugh.” Staffers in student media had to use their imagination to tell a story, even if it meant working overtime. They were determined to get it done. “It is omething that you can express feelings and emotions toward,” Liam hristianson, freshman, said. “Student Media is really about enjoying the journey, not just the destination.”

On the DC trip the Editor in Chief of the yearbook, Samantha Smith, Junior, poses for a photoshoot at Mount Vernon. “I would say there are a bunch of ups, but then around deadlines, it gets stressful and the tears come out, but it’s worth it in the end when we get to open up the box of books and see everything finished. It’s just my baby,” Smith said. photo by c. kennedy MIC DROP Hayden Brown, junior, holds up a brand new video mic for the rest of his LoboTrax crew to see. “LoboTrax got much better at writing stories, telling stories, and together all of us have grown to a point that I never thought we’d get to,” Brown said. photo by s. smith YEARBOOKING AT ITS FINEST While taking photos for the yearbook the Photo Editor, Carson Kennedy, junior, gets low to shoot AP Psychology experimenting children’s ideas. “Yearbook has opened up a lot of opportunities for me.
