EDITOR

Hey Chargers! Welcome to the seventh issue of Charger Territory! This month was quite a busy month, our members attended events such as the Project 150 Prom Closet and Ride for Kids, you can read more about what happened at those events later in the issue.

RTC was also a couple of weeks ago, and I hope everyone enjoyed their time going to workshops, doing little service projects, and cheering at the cheer session! Even though we didn’t win the spirit stick, I’m still really proud of all of you. Thank you for being you and for always showing your passion and love for this club :’) I’m looking forward to seeing you guys at the events we have coming up! <3

PRESIDENT Hey Clark Key Club! I hope everyone enjoyed RTC this past month, especially those of you who attended for the first time! There were a plethora of workshops and service opportunities that hopefully everyone took advantage of during their time. Although we weren’t able to get that spirit stick, I’d still like to thank each and every one of you for your passion and dedication towards Key Club, it really shined through that day and reminds me why I do what I do. Please continue to participate in volunteer work within the club and I hope to see you guys at future events. I chrysia-ppreciate you all! <3

project 150

PROM CLOSET

This was my first time going to one of Project 150's events, and although it was a lot of clothes hanging, we still managed to have fun! At this event, most of the volunteers were putting donated prom dresses on racks that the organization could use later on and some other volunteers were organizing shoes in a room according to shoe size. There were so many prom dresses, and I am sure that I hung over 100 dresses! We all helped each other out in hanging some dresses and jammed out to some throwback music as we did it. I am also thankful for the event organizers who gave us chips and water while we were working along the way. I got to talk to some of our new members about how they felt at Key Club, and we all got to be friends after working for 4 hours! I had a lot of fun, and would do it again if I get the chance! â&#x20AC;&#x201D; MELANIE GARCIA

Project 150 was such a heartfelt service event.

Seeing all those dresses donated, was such an amazing thing. Hanging the dresses was a lot of work but getting more than ten racks filled was rewarding task. I would recommend doing this to anyone that wants a direct impact for the community. Hopefully next year I'll do the shoe sorting section or another section to get the most out of it. â&#x20AC;&#x201D; FLAVIO CORONADO 6

ride for

KIDS

I was really excited to attend Ride for Kids for the first time this year! On the day before the event, members came to the Green area at Town Square to receive tshirts and a brief rundown of what would be going on at the event. The event started early in the morning on Sunday, and the coordinators were kind enough to provide us with an array of breakfast foods and coffee! The first task we had was to set up tables and chairs at the event area. Afterwards, I went with a group of people to stand on the side of the road, waiting for bikers to pass by, cheering for them as they did. It was thrilling to see all of the different types and designs of the motorcycles; we even saw Batman drive past! Later on in the day, members cheered on the motorcyclists as they departed on their path and then once again when the riders came back. To conclude a great event, we were provided lunch, and could relax in the green area as the event was winding down. The food was really good and I enjoyed getting to kick back and talk to members! Ride for Kids was a lot of fun and it was great to see the charitable efforts going towards the pediatric brain tumor program, plus we got to work with our Kiwanis!

HEY CLARK KEY CLUB,

This year’s RTC for me was really fun and even better than last year. I got to do workshops like Lei Making and Yoga that really made my day. The people that went to RTC this year were really fun and it great to see other students from different schools. At the end of the day, we all got to chill and have fun dancing and singing along. Overall, this RTC experience is one memory that I will also cherish, I love the community that Key Club provided me and I will continue to dedicate time to this amazing club!

My final RTC was a blast! I love how the theme of my last RTC was one of my all time favorite franchises, Pokemon. It was really cool seeing the other key club's Pokemon theme shirts and spirit sticks. I felt nostalgic when we and the other key clubs referenced the Pokemon theme song and Team Rocket's motto in their cheers. Even though we didn't win this year, I had fun being with my friends in the workshops and the dance afterward. I wish our underclassmen the best after the seniors leave and to win the spirit stick next year!

HOW DO YOU FEEL?!?

to learn new skills that are actually useful to me, most notably the “How to Not be Boring” workshop! Moving into the spirit session, I fell in love with Clark Key Club and I felt like I was able to develop a bond with the entire club, board, and my class of 22’ even through defeat. The dance capped off the wonderful day by allowing me to just have fun and live my best life with the new and old friends alike. 2019-2020 RTC is forever engraved in my heart as the RTC that made me find my love for Key Club.

Kara Orevillo, and it was really nice to see a lot of people come in and listen to our presentation, and also jamming out to some 2000s hits (shoutout to ECTA Key Club and their advisor hehe). When the cheer sessions came along, I got to see our members cheer their hearts out, which made me get a little emotional. Although we didn’t win that spirit stick, the board and I are immensely proud of all the hard work our members put into preparing for RTC. Also seeing their posts on Instagram and hearing about how much fun they had really warms our hearts, and we couldn’t be happier with how this RTC turned out.
