Hi, my name is Anja Thacker and I have been blessed with the opportunity to be apart of yearbook for two years. My first year as a junior I was on the sales and marketing staff which allowed me to expand my knowledge on how to sell ads to businesses and seniors. My second year, as a senior, I was able to become the ads and marketing editor. I am also involve myself with Student Council, National Honor Society, the Academy, and volunteering for many different organizations. Yearbook has taught me not only how to work hard, but that you have to be responsible and manage your time wisely. Next year, I will be attending Texas A&M University to pursue a business degree where I hope to go on into the sales world. Yearbook has allowed me to practice and understand sales and I am extremely thankful to have spent two years with this amazing organization.

In high school I was a very involved student. I was in the Academy of Science and Health Professions, an officer for student council, an editor for the Flare yearbook, and I was involved in National Honor Society. I graduated high school in the top 10% of my class and I will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall of 2018.
EXPERIENCE Nanny/Babysitter | Personal JUNE 2017 – AUGUST 2017
During the summer of 2017 I applied to become a nanny for a small family of four. During the days of the week I would pick the two young girls up from swim and brought them home. After coming home, I would feed them, help them with summer homework, and just entertain them until their mother was home and able to take care of them. It was a great first job and a great learning experience on how to be responsible.

ACTIVITIES During my time in high school I was able to volunteer for many different causes. To remain in National Honor Society it was required that I do two community services per semester. In addition, being an officer in student council I was given the opportunity to volunteer for causes in need quite often.

To Whom It May Concern: It is with the utmost pleasure that I write you in recommendation of Anja Thacker. I had the privilege of teaching Anja in both my Pre-AP Pre-Calculus class and AP Statistics class during her junior year and I have continued to follow her progress during her senior year. Anja is currently enrolled at the Academy for Science and Health Professions, which is a magnet program for gifted students at Conroe High School. Upon acceptance, these students are held to the highest level of academic standards. Every student is required to take three courses per semester through the Academy, complete one hundred community service hours, and attend field trips and lectures that will prepare them for a career in health or science. These students are also required to complete an additional project on top of their already rigorous schedule. The Academy is an exclusive program and is far more demanding than a typical high school program. Anja is a very intelligent, dedicated, and mature student. In her time at the Academy, Anja has been very active in our academic clubs including being the sales editor of the yearbook staff, the historian for student council, and an active member of National Honor Society. Despite being very active in high school, Anja does a terrific job of prioritizing her time which has allowed her to excel academically. Anja has coupled her intelligence with an unfailing work ethic to rise to the top of her class. Anja enjoys challenging herself, which is evident by her selecting some of the most rigorous courses we offer including AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Biology, and AP Statistics. In my time at the Academy, Anja is one of the most well rounded student I have ever taught and she would be a wonderful addition to your school. Not only was she dedicated to her education, but she was also involved in her community as well. Academically she challenged herself by taking and excelling in multiple AP and dual credit classes. While she was a student she maintained an A average in my dual credit government class, and was a leader in her class. I could count on her to always be prepared and to contribute to the days discussion. Anja learned time management skills by maintaining a rigorous class schedule while also participating in extracurricular activities, such as, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Yearbook. From personal experience I can attest to the fact that learning to balance work, school, and life is one the biggest initial challenges many young employees will face, a challenge Anja is already learning to tackle. Thoughout the two years I was involved in yearbook, I was able to create many different spreads, but my main job was to make senior and business ads.
The CCC was available to students all year round and was more than a college resource for seniors. It also aided students with trade school applications, finding jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities, and organized and administered the ACT/SAT and AP tests. “The CCC makes me feel like I will be prepared for college,” Bradley Dawson said. The resource center guided students in the right path to going to a college that best suited them. Ms. Chatmon was always open to talking and giving advice to students. During the year Ms. Chatmon met specifically with Advanced Placement and Dual Credit classes to see what path they were on and helped them apply for college if they had not already. Overall, the CCC was a great resource for students who wanted more out of their future.

Focused on the information Ms. April Chatmon was giving them, Christian Luna and his father carefully listen to the advice given by the College and Career Center counselor. The CCC provided every student with the information and resources they needed in order to succeed in their future. “The CCC offers resources to help you become successful, such as scholarship applications and SAT/ACT prep,” Dominique Torrence said. There were many different programs and opportunities in the resource center that helped students to succeed in high school such as the various representatives from colleges that came to provide information about their school. The most popular resource for seniors was scholarship information. “There are so many scholarship opportunities that I did not even know existed until I went to the CCC,” Jessica Hinojosa said.

Tiger Life students worked hard to learn new things Tiger Life was an amazing group of students who were always enthusiastic to participate in school. From working on computers to doing activities outside these students always worked their hardest and took advantage of the opportunities their teachers gave them. Tiger Life was given the opportunity to go to work sites such as Incredible Pizza this year to expand the students’ interests in real life jobs. “I love being independent because I learn better,” Jennifer Elias said. The teachers gave their students many different opportunities to expand upon their knowledge in many ways such as allowing the students to travel off campus and see a

Throughout the year they broadened their intelligence on crafts and hands on activities. The teachers taught the students how to read maps. “I learned how many states there were in between California and Texas; Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico,” Dale Young Davis said. It was always a pleasure to see the Tiger Life students showing their school spirit in every way they possibly could. This year was a great learning experience for all of the students.
