Hello there
My name is Michaela Lynn Luna
and I am a senior at Conroe High School. I am making this portfolio to show case my many different types of work from the past three years. My portfolio will include my work on Indesign Creative Cloud, college essays, photographs, a resume, and invitations.
During my High School career I
have put a lot of effort into yearbook. After three years of hardwork and dedication I am proud to say that I am Editor-in-Chief of the organization. Yearbook has sparked my creativity and writing skills, and it has allowed my skills to shine throughout my work.
After I graduate I am planning
to attend Sam Houston State University, located in Huntsville, Texas. I will major in education and minor in journalism, with hopes to one day become a teacher.

To Whom It May Concern: This serves as a reference letter for Michaela Luna in hopes of her receiving The Conroe ISD Education Foundation scholarship. I have had the opportunity of being Michaela’s yearbook teacher and role model at Conroe High School for the 2014-2016 school years. Michaela is very creative, dependable, and hardworking. When I first came to Conroe High and met Michaela, she was the assistant editor of the yearbook staff, and this year she is the Editor-in-Chief. Over the past two years I have been able to watch her handle the transition of having a new sponsor with great patience and grace. She stepped up and helped teach myself along with all 23 staff members the yearbook process without getting frustrated or being negative even one time. Michaela is a great leader and she has a real passion for teaching and helping others. She is also a bright, energetic, compassionate and genuinely well-rounded individual. Her grades have been consistently above average in most of her courses, and she always strives to better herself by the dedication and quality of her work. She has a very mature attitude for her age and never ceases to amaze me with her leadership skills and dedication for excellence. In my personal interaction with Michaela over my two years at Conroe, I found her to be a warm compassionate person who is always focused on her goals. She is a delightful young woman with a “can do” attitude. Michaela is motivated, hardworking and excels in her academic background and leadership role in the school yearbook. I know that Michaela will be a successful college student and deserves this scholarship in order to further her education.

Work experience & future goals
Work Experience Faith Learning Center- (Teacher’s Assistant) I worked at this daycare for a year and a half. I worked with 3 year olds through afterschoolers. I rotated classrooms helping the Lead Teacher with snacks, supervision, crafts, circle time, and homework help. First United Methodist Church- Conroe- (Summer Intern) Over the summer I was offered an internship with Children Ministries’s where I assisted the head coordinator with Vacation Bible School, Missions for Kids, Wee Serve, Kids in the Kitchen, and many more activities. This is how I recieved my current job as the Children’s Ministries Assistant. First United Methodist Church- Conroe- (Nursery Worker) I currently work in the nursery with newborns through eight year olds during the church’s after hours, and Sunday mornings. We offer care and supervision to the children while their parents are in class. First United Methodist Church- Conroe- (Children’s Ministries Assistant) I also currently work in the church during office hours. I plan programing for Children events throughout the church for all age groups, such as, Pancake Supper, First Kids, Saturday Night Live, etc.. First United Methodist Church- Conroe- (Sunday School Volunteer) I teach Sunday School to 3 year olds on my free weekends.
Work experience & future goals Future goals Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to be an elementary teacher. Once I was old enough to work I seeked jobs that would give me a feel for kids. All of my work experiences have been based strictly on assisting kids, building relationships with them, and making sure they are in healthy environments. Since day one of working with kids, I knew it was my passion. I truly enjoy working with children, every job I do I put my heart and soul into. I know that pursuing a career in early education will be something that I will stay blissful about throughout my entire life. My personal goals are to be the first member of my family to graduate from college, become an elementary teacher in the Conroe area, and do my best to brighten children’s education.
