Since then, over 500,000 visitors have traversed the 1.25-mile expanse across the Hudson River connecting Poughkeepsie and Highland. A converted railroad bridge built in 1888, the Walkway is the highest pedestrian bridge in the world (212 feet), providing magnificent bird’seye views of the Hudson River, Catskill Mountains, and surrounding landscape.
