Current Motorcycle Related Information Why Support Our Current Helmet Law?

The short answer is because it works. Unlike all the current Federal, State & Local mandates that have been passed dealing with Covid our helmet law works. Anyone can wear a helmet on any roadways in our state as they choose. When I talk to some people they are surprised that I even own a helmet. Of course, I tell them I have several and that WE support our current helmet law and have for over 40 years. I tell them we even have an annual Helmet Law Support Rally which usually is the point where the conversation tends to go silent. There really is not much to say after that and to me that’s why our law works. They are free to wear it and am free to not. I hope to see everyone at this year’s Helmet Law Support Rally and hope you understand that even though you have been to it before each year it is important for us to stand together and show respect for the freedom we have. This year we will be recognizing and presenting the 2021 Community Leader Award to Madam Chairlady Rita Allison. She will continue to serve as the representative for District 36 Spartanburg County until January 2023 at which time a newly elected representative will take office. If you or your chapter would like to drop her a thank you letter for her support as the Chairlady for the House Education and Public Works committee for all those years please bring it along.
