The 10th annual Eli Ride Raised $21,000

Eli's Ride is to honor Kristy son's memory. This year; 2023, the 10th Annual ride/fundraiser, honored Eli's memory by helping Cruz, #CruzStrong.

In April of 2022, Cruz was diagnosed with Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis, or HLH. HLH is an aggressive and life-threatening syndrome of excessive immune activation. In February 2023, they found the driving force of Cruz’s HLH when he was diagnosed with Hepatosplenic T-cell Lymphoma. HSTCL is hard to diagnose because it hides in the spleen/ liver and often times mimics HLH. It can also cause hemophagocytic disorders which is why the HLH is secondary to this cancer.

Among other issues, this disease has attacked his bone marrow. He currently is in Cincinnati in the PICU. His spleen is swollen and pushing on his intestines, liver and lungs. He's on oxygen right now and sedated while undergoing scans. Their hope is to find the source of this disease, treat it accordingly and strengthen him for a bone marrow transplant.
