8. Holy Gospel “Your father and I have

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

been looking for you.”

Even though it is easy to forget at times, family is the most important thing in the world.

Family is communion of love, austere and simple beauty, a lesson of work with a sacred character.

But family is also about bearing burdens, and family life means to bear one another’s burden in life. Today, the first Sunday after Christmas, the Universal Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family. This is a feast that puts for us the coming of Christ in human perspective. The redeemer, the one that St. John identified on Christmas Day as “The Word made flesh,” came into this world in a complete human fashion.

Today we celebrate that Jesus, along with Mary and Joseph became the Holy family, a family set aside for the Lord.

Today’s Gospel passage tells us that Jesus departed for three days. What parent cannot identify with the worry, anxiety, and fear that comes with not knowing the whereabouts of their children? Once they found Him, Mary unloaded her frustrations and anguishes by expressing: “Your father and I have been looking for You with great anxiety!”

At some point in life, have your families experienced periods of terrible anguish? Let me tell you something: This is endless; anguish and burden come with families. Some of you are experiencing them right now. Today we are invited to pray for each other, to pray for families around the world; and to always look for the example of the Holy family. They were the Holy Family, but not the perfect family. Later in the passage the Gospel also stressed Jesus’ obedience to Mary and Joseph. His obedience during this His hidden life was restoration from the disobedience of Adam. His everyday obedience to Joseph and Mary prefigured the unconditional Holy Thursday’s obedience that Jesus offered to The Father: “Not my will, but Your will oh Lord!”

Today’s Gospel passage invites us to go on and ask ourselves: What about our families? Are they, or will they be holy families? What we can wholeheartedly take from today’s passage is an authentic desire for our families to become holy, to live in imitation of the Holy Family. Today, while we approach the Altar of the eternal and perfect sacrifice, let us ask the Lord to provide for us, the same as the infant Jesus received during all those his hidden years: wisdom and favor before God and man.

La Sagrada Familia de Jesús, María y José

Estas son las intenciones de oración del Papa Francisco

Intención Universal- Diciembre Los catequistas Recemos por los catequistas, llamados a proclamar la Palabra de Dios: para que sean testigos de ella con valentía, creatividad y con la fuerza del Espíritu Santo.

Aunque a veces es muy fácil olvidarlo, la familia es un valor importantísimo en nuestras vidas. Pero lo que sí es innegable es el hecho de que todos disfrutamos la vida familiar. Familia es comunión de amor, simple y llana belleza. Pero familia también significa yugos, sufrimiento, y cargar todos juntos los problemas de la vida. El día de hoy, primer Domingo después de Navidad, la Iglesia universal celebra a la Sagrada Familia. Es esta la celebración que pone la venida de Cristo en una perspectiva humana. El Salvador, aquel a quien San Juan identifico en Navidad como “El verbo hecho carne,” viene al mundo en forma humana. Y el día de hoy celebramos como Jesús, junto con José y María, se convierten en “La Sagrada Familia,” una familia separada para Dios.

Un poco más adelante, San Lucas nos narra como Jesús desapareció por tres días en el templo. ¿Qué padre no puede identificarse con la angustia, la preocupación, la ansiedad y el miedo que provoca el no saber dónde están sus hijos? Una vez que lo hallaron, María descarga toda su ansiedad cuando expresa: Hijo, tu padre y yo ¡te hemos estado buscando llenos de angustia!”

En algún momento de sus vidas, ¿habrán experimentado ustedes en su familia un momento de gran angustia? Déjenme decirles algo, esto es interminable; ¡angustia y sufrimiento vienen incluidos! Algunos experimentan angustia ahora mismo. Hoy somos invitados a orar unos por otros, a rezar por las familias de todo el mundo, y a voltear siempre hacia la Sagrada Familia. Eran ellos la Sagrada Familia, pero nunca la familia perfecta. Un poco más adelante el pasaje atestigua también la obediencia de Jesús a José y María. Con obediencia en su infancia Jesús restaura la desobediencia de Adán. Su obediencia diaria a José y María presagia su obediencia incondicional al Padre en la noche del Jueves Santo: “Pero hágase tu voluntad y no la mía!”

El Evangelio de hoy nos pregunta a nosotros mismos: ¿Como están sus familias? ¿Son, o están por convertirse en familias santas? Lo que verdaderamente podemos hoy llevar a nuestros corazones es un deseo por buscar a diario la santidad de nuestras familias, comprometernos a vivir imitando siempre a la Sagrada Familia. El día de hoy, al acercarnos al Altar del sacrificio que perdona todas nuestras ofensas, pidamos al Señor lo mismo que le dio al niño Jesús durante toda su infancia: Sabiduría y estatura delante de Dios y de los hombres.

Cha và Mẹ đang tìm kiếm con Dù có lúc dễ quên nhưng gia đình là điều quan trọng nhất trên đời. Gia đình là sự hiệp thông của yêu thương, là vẻ đẹp trang nghiêm và giản dị, là bài học lao công có một đặc trưng thiêng liêng. Nhưng gia đình cũng là gánh nặng, và cuộc sống gia đình có nghĩa là mang gánh nặng của nhau trong cuộc sống. Hôm nay, Chúa nhật đầu tiên sau lễ Giáng sinh, Giáo hội Hoàn Vũ cử hành Lễ Thánh Gia Thất. Đây là một ngày lễ sắp đặt cho chúng ta sự xuất hiện của Đấng Ki-tô trong thân phận con người. Đấng Cứu Chuộc, là Đấng mà Thánh Gioan đã minh định vào Ngày Giáng sinh là “Ngôi Lời đã trở thành xác phàm”, đã đến thế gian này trong hình dáng con người hoàn toàn. Hôm nay chúng ta mừng lễ Chúa Giêsu, cùng với Đức Maria và Thánh Giuse đã trở thành Thánh Gia Thất, một gia đình dành riêng cho Chúa. Đoạn Tin Mừng hôm nay cho chúng ta biết rằng Chúa Giê-su đã lạc mất trong ba ngày.

Cha mẹ nào mà không thể xác định được nỗi lo lắng, hồi hộp và sợ hãi đi kèm với việc không biết nơi ở của con mình sao? Sau khi họ tìm thấy Ngài, Maria đã trút bỏ những lo lắng và đau khổ của mình bằng cách biểu lộ rằng: “Cha và Mẹ đang tìm Con với mối bồn chồn lo sợ!”

Có lúc nào đó trong cuộc đời, gia đình quý vị đã trải qua những giai đoạn đau khổ khủng khiếp chưa? Hãy để tôi nói với quý vị một điều: Điều này là vô tận; đau khổ và gánh nặng đến với các gia đình. Một số quý vị đang trải nghiệm chúng ngay bây giờ. Hôm nay, trong khi chúng ta tiến đến Bàn Thờ Hy Tế vĩnh cửu và hoàn hảo, chúng ta hãy cầu xin Chúa ban cho chúng ta, giống như Hài Nhi Giê-su đã nhận trong suốt những năm tháng ẩn dật: sự khôn ngoan và ân sủng trước mặt Thiên Chúa và loài người.
