8. Holy Gospel Seventeenth Sunday In Ordinary Time

Our father who art in heaven.

In what we know today as the “Our Father,” Jesus taught His disciples to approach God with trust and hope, in a level of absolute abandonment, dependence, and intimacy. Jesus also affirmed that His Father, our merciful Father who is in heaven, will always do whatever is needed for the wellbeing of us His creatures.

Jesus began His teaching with a prayer of praising God just for the fact of being God, recognizing His power and grandeur in all the wonders that He made through Creation. The Our Father also includes a supplication for a better world, a world where His will and His kingdom could become the powers to govern our whole lives. Jesus also taught His disciples to ask the Father for our daily bread, the material and spiritual sustenance that we all need. In an action closely related to the forgiveness that we are open to offer for all those who have offended us, Jesus taught His disciples how to ask God for forgiveness, and to ask for protection during times of testing.

The “Our Father ‘’ is our prayer per excellence, St. Thomas Aquinas defined it as “the perfect prayer;” it is the prayer that Jesus Himself taught us. St Augustine, in his commentary about the “Our Father” explained: “Whatever words we want to use while we pray, we will not be able to express something different from what is already contained in the words of the “Our Father.”” The “Our Father ‘’ is a powerful prayer. On that day, Jesus’ disciples were transformed by the power of divine teaching.

After they all prayed as Jesus taught them, they were able to get the strength that they needed out of their weaknesses; they became more open to continue giving and serving their communities in imitation of Jesus. Today, let us ask the Lord for the installation of His Kingdom in our daily lives.

Let us long for the times when all creation will join to celebrate His divinity, and His presence among us. Until then, let us humbly pray to Him to “give us our daily bread, Amen!”

XVII Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Estas son las intenciones de oración del Papa Francisco

Intención Universal- Julio Recemos por los ancianos que representan las raíces y la memoria de un pueblo, para que su experiencia y sabiduría ayude a los más jóvenes a mirar hacia el futuro con esperanza y responsabilidad.

En lo que hoy conocemos como el “Padre Nuestro’’, Jesús enseña a sus discípulos a hablarle a Dios con confianza, en un nivel de abandono y esperanza, dependencia e intimidad absolutos.

Jesús afirma también que su Padre, nuestro Padre misericordioso que está en el cielo, hará siempre lo necesario por el bienestar de nosotros sus creaturas.

Jesús inició su oración alabando a Dios simplemente por el hecho de ser Dios, reconociendo su poder y su grandeza en todas las maravillas que hizo en la creación. El Padre nuestro también incluye una súplica por un mundo mejor; un mundo en el cual su voluntad y su reino serán quienes dirijan nuestras vidas. Además, Jesús enseño a sus discípulos a pedir al Padre nuestro pan de cada día, el sustento espiritual y material que todos necesitamos. En relación al perdón que nosotros ofrecemos a quienes nos han ofendido, Jesús enseña también a sus discípulos como pedir a Dios perdón, y a pedir su protección durante el tiempo de nuestras pruebas.

El “Padre Nuestro” será siempre nuestra oración por excelencia. Santo Tomas de Aquino la llamaba siempre “la oración perfecta.” Es esta la oración que Jesús mismo nos enseñó. En sus escritos, San Agustín afirmo: “Cualesquiera que sean las palabras que usemos cuando oramos, jamás seremos capaces de expresar algo diferente a lo incluido en el Padre Nuestro.” El “Padre Nuestro” es las más poderosa de nuestras oraciones. Aquel día los discípulos fueron transformados por el poder de la enseñanza divina. Después de orar como Jesús les había enseñado, la fortaleza que necesitaban broto de sus dudas y debilidades. De repente estuvieron listos para servir y entregarse a sus comunidades, imitando lo que Jesús hacía.

Pidamos hoy al Señor la instalación de su Reino en nuestras vidas. Anhelemos los tiempos en los que toda la creación se unirá para celebrar su divinidad, y su presencia entre nosotros. Mientras tanto, humildemente supliquemos “danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día, Amen”

Lạy Cha chúng con, ở trên trời.

Kinh Lạy Cha mà chúng ta đọc ngày nay là kinh mà Chúa Giêsu đã dạy các môn đệ cầu nguyện, Ngài bảo họ đến với Chúa bằng lòng tin và hy vọng tuyệt đối, với tâm tình phó thác và gần gũi. Ngài xác quyết rằng Cha của Ngài, Đấng nhân từ ngự trên trời, sẽ luôn làm những gì cần thiết để chăm sóc chúng ta là những tạo vật của Ngài.

Chúa Giêsu bắt đầu việc giảng dạy của Ngài bằng lời cầu nguyện ca tụng Thiên Chúa vì thực tế Ngài là Thiên Chúa, xác nhận quyền năng và sự cao trọng của Ngài trong tất cả các việc kỳ diệu mà Ngài đã làm qua Đấng Tạo Hóa. Kinh Lạy Cha cũng là kinh cầu nguyện cho một thế giới tốt lành hơn, một thế giới nơi mà ý Ngài và vương quốc của Ngài có thể trở thành quyền năng để thống trị chúng ta. Chúa Giêsu cũng dạy các môn đệ của Ngài xin Chúa Cha lương thực hằng ngày, no đủ về phần xác cũng như phần hồn, nguồn nuôi dưỡng mà tất cả chúng ta điều cần. Trong hành động tương quan đến việc tha thứ mà chúng ta sẵn sàng tha thứ cho những người đã xúc phạm đến chúng ta, Chúa Giêsu đã dạy các môn đệ của Ngài cách cầu xin Thiên Chúa tha thứ và cầu xin được che chở trong những khi bị thử thách.

Kinh Lạy Cha là lời cầu xin tuyệt hảo, Thánh Tôma Aquina định nghĩa kinh Lạy Cha là một kinh hoàn hảo, do chính Chúa Giêsu dạy chúng ta. Thánh Augustinô bình luận rằng “Bất cứ từ ngữ nào chúng ta muốn dùng khi chúng ta cầu nguyện cũng sẽ không diễn tả được những gì khác hơn những lời đã thể hiện trong kinh Lạy Cha. “ Kinh Lạy Cha” là một kinh đầy sức mạnh. Từ lúc được dạy kinh này, các môn đệ của Ngài đã được biến đổi. Sau khi họ cầu nguyện như Chúa Giêsu đã dạy, họ được sức mạnh mà họ cần từ sự yếu đuối. Họ trở nên cởi mở hơn, cống hiến và phục vụ cộng đồng của họ như Chúa Giêsu. Hôm nay, chúng ta xin cho Nước Chúa được ngự trị trong đời sống hằng ngày. Chúng ta hãy mong đợi đến ngày mọi tạo vật kết hợp để vinh danh Ngài và sự hiện diện của Ngài trong chúng ta. Trong lúc chờ đợi, chúng ta hãy khiêm nhượng xin cho chúng ta hằng ngày dùng đủ.

Religious Education Program Registration 2022-2023 First Communion, RCIA, RCIC and Confirmation Registration forms will be handed out on July 10 to August 15, 2022. You can also register your children for the sacraments during this period by coming to the parish office Monday to Friday from 12pm—6pm.

Remember the last day for registrations will be August 15th.

We have limited space, do not wait to register.

Pick up the application forms and bring it to the office soonest.

Registration Fees is $200.00 each student, two and more students in the same family, $150 each.
