8. Holy Gospel Be merciful, just as

Seventh Sunday of Ordinary Time

your father is merciful Today’s Gospel speaks to us with one of the most powerful Christian teachings: “Love your enemies!

Do good to those who hate you! Bless those who course you! Pray for those who mistreat you! To the person who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other one as well! And from the person who takes your cloak, do not behold even your tunic! How right was the prophet Isaiah when he preached that God’s ways were so different of our ways; and that God’s thoughts are way different that our human thoughts!

In this our modern world, we are constantly invited to retribute others with the same coin that others had been using in their relationships with us. How many of us have had the strength, and the wisdom needed to live a life according to the Gospel’s principles proclaimed in today’s passage?

Probably, sometimes we have been able to honor this conduct. But today’s invitation is to consistently strive to fulfill this way of living, without considering the consequences.

Nevertheless, today’s teachings seem almost impossible to incarnate for any human being.

Many of us could be inclined to believe that Jesus’ new set of instructions is something impossible to accomplish. But reality tells us that we will experience a challenge when trying to live according to God’s kingdom. Among us, there are some people open to sacrifice themselves for the benefit of others. It is reachable, Mother Theresa left us with a humble example that shows us that working for the common good is something that could lead us to sanctity.

Bottom line, today’s invitation is to become a mature and spiritually strengthen person in the same way that our Father is mature and merciful in order to love us unconditionally. What Jesus is inviting us for is to love our neighbor in an unlimited, infinite, and perfect way; the same way that He loves us unconditionally. As a matter of fact, there is only a way to walk this path: to first discover the perfection of God’s love poured out for us at Calvary. It will be there, at the foot of the cross, the place where we will find all the inspiration, the strength, the wisdom needed to realize and understand the infinite power contained in our imperfect and limited actions when backed by God’s love behind us.

Estas son las intenciones de oración del Papa Francisco

Intención Universal- Febrero Por mujeres religiosas y consagradas Recemos por las mujeres religiosas y consagradas, agradeciéndoles su misión y valentía, para que sigan encontrando nuevas respuestas frente a los desafíos de nuestro tiempo.

El Evangelio que hoy proclamamos dirige hoy a nosotros una de las enseñanzas más impactantes del cristianismo: ¡ama a tus enemigos, has el bien a los que te odian! ¡bendice a los que te maldicen, reza por los que te injurian! Al que te pegue en la mejilla, preséntale la otra. ¡Al que te quite tu capa, dale también la túnica! De acuerdo al profeta Isaías, los caminos de Dios son diferentes a nuestros caminos; y los pensamientos de Dios son diferentes a nuestros pensamientos.

Este nuestro mundo moderno que continuamente nos invita a pagar con la misma moneda que se nos paga ¿Cuántos de nosotros hemos tenido el valor y la fortaleza necesarias para vivir de acuerdo a estos principios que el Evangelio proclama el día de hoy? Quizá algunas veces en nuestras vidas hemos sido capaces de honrar estas enseñanzas. Pero hoy la invitación es a vivir consistentemente de acuerdo ellos, ¡sin importar las consecuencias!

Las enseñanzas de Jesús el día de hoy parecen casi imposibles de encarnar. Probablemente creamos que son imposibles en la práctica, pero si necesitamos un reto como ese en nuestras vidas, mientras luchamos a diario por los valores del reino. Existen ejemplos de esto en nuestra vida diaria. Personas dispuestas a sacrificar sus intereses particulares por lograr el bien común. Si es posible, Madre Teresa, hace unos pocos años entre nosotros fue indudablemente un ejemplo de cómo el luchar por el bien común puede conducirnos a la santidad.

En resumen, hay solo una forma de caminar en la vida de esta manera: hacernos conscientes del amor perfecto derramado por nosotros en el Calvario. Es solo ahí, al pie de la cruz, el lugar donde encontraremos toda la inspiración, la fortaleza, y la sabiduría necesaria para descubrir y entender el poder infinito contenido en nuestros imperfectos y limitados actos cuando son respaldados e inspirados por el amor de Dios detrás nuestro.

Hãy ở nhân từ như Cha các con là Đấng nhân từ Tin Mừng hôm nay nói với chúng ta về một trong những giáo huấn mạnh mẽ nhất của Kitô giáo: “Các con hãy yêu kẻ thù, hãy làm ơn cho những kẻ ghét mình, hãy chúc phúc cho những kẻ nguyền rủa mình, hãy cầu nguyện cho những kẻ vu khống mình. Ai vả má con bên này, thì đưa cả má bên kia; ai lột áo ngoài của con, thì con cũng đừng cản nó lấy áo trong.” Thật đúng khi tiên tri Isaia rao giảng rằng: đường lối của Thiên Chúa thì khác với đường lối của chúng ta; và tư tưởng của Thiên Chúa thì khác với tư tưởng của loài người.

Trong thế giới hiện đại này, chúng ta thường được mời gọi đáp trả cho những người khác theo cách thức họ đã dùng để đối xử với chúng ta. Có bao nhiêu người trong chúng ta đã có đủ mạnh mẽ và khôn ngoan cần thiết để sống theo những nguyên tắc của đoạn Tin Mừng được công bố hôm nay? Có lẽ, đôi khi chúng ta có thể đã đề cao lối sống này.

Nhưng sự mời gọi hôm nay là phải cố gắng liên lỉ thực hành lối sống này, bất chấp hậu qủa như thế nào.

Tuy nhiên, những giáo huấn hôm nay xem chừng không có khả thi để nhập thể trong cuộc sống con người. Nhiều người trong chúng ta có khuynh hướng tin rằng những giáo huấn mới của Đức Giêsu là những điều không thể hoàn tất. Nhưng thực tại nói cho chúng ta rằng chúng ta sẽ trải qua một thách đố khi cố gắng sống theo vương quốc của Thiên Chúa. Ngay ở giữa chúng ta, đang có những người sẵn sàng hy sinh chính mình cho để mưu ích cho những người khác. Điều đó có thể đạt được, Mẹ Têrêxa đã để lại cho chúng ta một tấm gương khiêm nhường, tấm gương này đã minh chứng cho chúng ta rằng làm việc cho công ích là điều đưa chúng ta đến sự thánh thiện.

Tóm lại, sự mời gọi hôm nay là: hãy trở nên một người có tâm hồn hoàn thiện và mạnh mẽ giống như Cha của chúng ta là Đấng hoàn thiện và nhân từ, đã yêu thương chúng ta không điều kiện. Điều mà Đức Giêsu đang mời gọi chúng ta là: hãy yêu thương những người lân cận của chúng ta vô hạn, vô ngần, và hoàn hảo như Người yêu thương chúng ta. Thực ra, chỉ có một cách để bước theo con đường này là: trước hết, hãy khám phá ra tình yêu hoàn hảo mà Thiên Chúa đã đổ ra cho chúng ta trên đồi Can-vê. Chính ở nơi đó, dưới chân thập tự, chúng ta sẽ tìm thấy hứng khởi, sức mạnh, và sự khôn ngoan cần thiết để nhận ra và hiểu biết quyền năng vô biên, được chất chứa trong những hành động bất toàn và hữu hạn của chúng ta một khi đã được tình yêu của Thiên Chúa nâng đỡ phù trì ở sau lưng.

16. Comunidad Christ the King Parish need help to support Saint Vincent de Paul society in our community. Our elderly members are now retiring after supporting this mission since the past 25 years.

Altar Blessing Bishop Oscar Cantú will come to celebrate 6:00 PM bilingual mass and blessing the Sanctuary on Saturday, March 12, 2022. We will not have 7:30 PM Spanish mass. Parish’s Facility Request Form All the groups using facility must submit the reservation request form to the office, a responsible person must have a fingerprint, a safe environment certificate and a waiver.

Please note: no cooking, no burners and no stoves allowed to use in the class room.
