8. Holy Gospel “She has contributed all she had,

her whole livelihood.”

Today’s gospel passage teaches us how the most modest of people can do something great for us.

The passage is an example of how to behave in times when we are down, and we think we have nothing left to give. Those are times when little remains in the barrel of our lives. Then, for some reason, we still manage to give more out of nothing we have left, and by God’s mercy, grace is born again.

The passage tells us about a widow who is willing to relinquish even her own life out of love for, and faithful surrender to God. By depositing in the treasury box, her two small coins worth a few cents, the poor widow is deploying before us a huge amount of trusting love, generosity, and self-sacrifice. She gave from what she herself really needed; because she had a greater need, her need for God. She is showing more love, self-denial, more sincerity that all the many rich people who put in large sums in the treasury, even when she probably was needier than many of the poor. By her example, the poor widow is teaching us that it is not about how much we give, but how much compared with what we have. Today we are invited to recognize that we have been entrusted with the administration and use of temporal wealth for the common good, and not always with the everlasting ownership of private property. Today we are invited to give back to the Lord the gifts He has given us. Invited to give to Him who receives in the person of every poor man or woman.

In 1971, Pope Paul VI wrote: “In teaching us charity, the gospel instructs us in the preferential respect due to the poor, and the special situation they have in society: the more fortunate should renounce some of their rights so as to place their goods more generously at the service of others” As we approach the Altar where the “once for all” sacrifice will be remembered let us pray for the strength needed to overcome our desires to think just about “me” and “mine.” Let us also offer our very beings, our presence, and our hearts. Let us pray to be able to give not only what we have, but also what we are, for the benefit of those in need.

Estas son las intenciones de oración del Papa Francisco

Intención Universal- Noviembre Recemos para que las personas, que sufren de depresión o agotamiento extremo, reciban apoyo de todos y una luz que les abra a la vida.

El evangelio que hemos proclamado nos muestra como la gente humilde suele hacer cosas grandes por nosotros. El pasaje es un ejemplo de cómo comportarnos cuando nos sentimos poca cosa, sin nada para dar a los demás; son tiempos cuando poco queda en nuestras vidas. Es entonces, cuando por alguna razón somos capaces de seguir ayudando a pesar de que nos sentimos vacíos, y por la misericordia divina, la gracia de Dios nos inunda de nuevo.

En el pasaje, una viuda pobre renuncia sin reclamar a todo lo que tiene, arriesga su propia supervivencia, y se entrega en manos de Dios. Al depositar dos moneditas en la alcancía nos enseña lo que significa el gran amor, el auto sacrificio, y la generosidad. Ella dio lo que necesitaba para sobrevivir, pero tenía una mayor necesidad, su necesidad de Dios era infinitamente mayor.

Con sus acciones se niega a sí misma, mostrándonos más amor, y sinceridad que toda la gente rica que ponía grandes sumas en la colecta.

Aun cuando seguramente necesitaba más que muchos de los pobres, con su ejemplo nos enseña que no es importante cuanto damos, sino cuanto es, comparado con lo que tenemos. El día de hoy somos invitados a reconocer que se nos ha confiado el uso y la administración de bienes temporales para el bien común, y no siempre con la propiedad de ellos. Hoy somos invitados a regresar a los demás los bienes que el Señor nos ha confiado; invitados a regresarlos a aquel que los recibe en la persona de cualquier hombre o mujer necesitados.

En 1971, el Papa Paulo VI escribía: “Ensenándonos caridad, el evangelio nos manda a dar a los pobres el respeto que merecen, y a reconocer su posición dentro de la sociedad: los más afortunados deberán renunciar a sus derechos y ser más generosos en el servicio a los demás.” Al acercarnos hoy al altar en donde el sacrificio irrepetible es recordado, roguemos por la fortaleza necesaria para sobreponernos a nuestros deseos de pensar solo en el “mi” y en lo “mío.” Ofrezcamos al Señor todo nuestro ser y nuestros corazones. Pidamos humildad para poder dar no solo lo que nos sobra, sino también todo lo que somos, siempre en beneficio de los más necesitados.

10. Vietnamese Blessing Sanctuary Bishop Oscar Cantú will come to celebrate 6:00 PM trilingual mass and blessing the Sanctuary on Saturday, December 4, 2021.

We will not have 4:00 PM Vietnamese and 7:30 PM Spanish mass. Đức Giám mục Oscar Cantú sẽ đến cử hành thánh lễ ba ngôn ngữ và làm phép cung thánh lúc 6 giờ chiều Thứ Bảy, ngày 4 tháng 12 năm 2021.

Chúng ta hãy cầu nguyện cho những người đau khổ vì trầm cảm hoặc kiệt sức, để họ tìm thấy nơi mọi người sự nâng đỡ và ánh sáng giúp họ mở ra cho đời sống. Đóng Góp và hỗ trợ Giáo xứ Xin cám ơn qúy ông bà và anh chị em vẫn tiếp tục đóng góp ủng hộ Giáo Xứ trong thời điểm khó khăn nầy.

Theo yêu cầu của bộ y tế và Giáo Phận, chúng ta phải mua rất nhiều vật phẩm giúp bảo vệ sức khỏe và sự an toàn của tất cả những người đến để tham dự thánh lễ hoặc đến văn phòng Giáo Xứ .

“Bà đã bỏ tất cả những gì mình có để nuôi sống.” Đoạn Tin Mừng hôm nay dạy chúng ta về cách thế mà một người nghèo hèn nhất trong mọi người vẫn có thể làm được những điều cao cả cho chúng ta. Đoạn Tin Mừng này cho chúng ta một tấm gương để hành xử trong những lúc chúng ta bị xuống dốc và nghĩ rằng mình chẳng còn gì để cho. Đó là những lúc mà chỉ còn lại một chút nhỏ nhoi cho cả cuộc sống của chúng ta. Nhưng chính lúc đó, vì một lý do nào đó, chúng ta vẫn phải tìm cách cho đi nhiều hơn cho dù chúng ta không còn gì cả, và rồi do lòng Chúa xót thương, ân sủng lại tái sinh. Đoạn Tin Mừng này nói cho chúng ta về một bà góa sẵn sàng từ bỏ cả chính đời sống của bà cho tình yêu Thiên Chúa và dâng hiến trung thành cho Ngài. Khi bỏ vào trong hòm tiền hai đồng tiền nhỏ trị giá một phần tư xu, bà góa nghèo này đang phơi bày cho chúng ta một tình yêu tín thác, một tấm lòng quảng đại, và một tấm lòng tự hiến thật lớn lao. Bà đã cho đi tất cả những gì bà thật sự cần cho bản thân bởi vì bà có một điều cần lớn hơn, bà cần Thiên Chúa.

Bà đã chứng tỏ rằng bà đang yêu nhiều hơn, quyên mình, và thành thật hơn tất cả những người giầu đã bỏ những số tiền lớn vào hòm tiền, cho dù có lẽ bà đang túng thiếu nhiều hơn những người nghèo khác. Bằng tấm gương sáng của mình, bà góa nghèo đang dạy chúng ta rằng điều quan trọng không do ở số lượng chúng ta cho, nhưng ở chỗ chúng ta đã cho đi bao nhiêu so với những cái mình đang có. Vào năm 1971, Đức Giáo Hoàng Phaolô VI đã viết: “Để dạy chúng ta về đức bác ái, Tin Mừng hướng dẫn chúng ta cần phải có sự kính trọng nhiều hơn đối với những người nghèo, và những tình huống đặc biệt đang xẩy ra trong xã hội: Những người được may mắn hơn nên từ bỏ quyền đáng được hưởng của mình để trao ban những phúc lợi của họ một cách quảng đại nhằm phục vụ những người khác.” Khi chúng ta tiến đến Bàn Thờ, nơi mà hiến lễ hy sinh xưa kia đã được dâng “một lần vĩnh viễn” lại được tưởng nhớ, chúng ta cầu xin cho được sức mạnh cần thiết để thắng vượt lòng ích kỷ chỉ nghĩ tới “mình” và “những gì là của mình.” Chúng ta hãy dâng lên chính con người chúng ta, sự hiện hữu, và tất cả con tim của chúng ta. Hãy cầu xin để chúng ta có thể cho đi không những chỉ những cái mình có, mà còn cho đi tất cả hiện trạng của chúng ta, để mưu ích cho những kẻ nghèo.
