IMPORTANT GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS TO ATTEND MASS:

DIRECTRICES Y PROTOCOLOS IMPORTANTES PARA ASISTIR A MISA

According to the Santa Clara County guidelines.

Effecive Tuesday, November 17th, all indoor Masses and worship services will be moved outdoor. We will also continue to livestream Masses for those who prefer to stay at home.

Please help us to keep the safety and health of all who attend Mass by observing the established safety protocols: • Bring your mask, wash your hands – No mask, no mass.

• Come at least 15 minutes early.

• Ushers will direct you to your seat.

• Please observe 6 feet social distancing at all times.

• Use your mask at all times throughout the duration of Mass.

• Stay at your designated space throughout the duration of Mass.

• Receive Communion in your hand, with mask on, then step aside remove your mask and use your free hand to place the Host in your mouth and put your mask back on.

• Collection baskets will not be passed but placed at entrance and exit for your offertory.

• Please do not stay after mass to allow us to disinfect all chairs, and other contact points before the next mass.

8. Holy Gospel “He makes the deaf hear

Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

and the mute speak.”

In today’s gospel passage, the Master had spent some time away from religious authorities, hiding out in pagan territory. People brought to Jesus a man who was deaf, but able to speak some strange sounds; he had suffered his whole life from people ridiculing him. In Jesus’ Palestine, any infirmity suffered by a person was interpreted as a sign of his/her sinfulness. For Jesus the man was a person in deep trouble, and He wanted to make him special for the first time in his life. He took him away from the crowd.

Jesus cured the deaf man not only as a sign that He was the Messiah, but as a sign of the love that God has for each one of us.

Through His actions, Jesus is showing up how He is able to see beyond what the world has proclaimed as success, as prosperity. The Lord teaches us that real prosperity is in the account of the soul, and not in a bank account. By His actions, Jesus is showing us today how God’s love, God’s mercy, God’s compassion is beyond our human understanding. Like Christ, we must be involved with the people who need us. We must dirt our hands. St. Peter Claver used to say it like this: “We must speak to the needy with our hands before we speak them with our lips.”

As Christ disciples, we are called to make God’s kingdom a reality in our world. It is our responsibility to look for a world where the poor can receive the keys to unlock the opportunities; a world where the one who suffers could find consolation and healing among his/her neighbors; a world where the hungry and thirsty of justice can be satisfied; a world where the compassionate could be able to find mercy; a world where the peace maker will be able to find it; a world where the persecuted could be able to find rest. Today, let us ask the Lord for a heart able to ask: Lord, how can I help You? A heart able to exclaim: “Here I am Lord, I come do Your will!”

En el evangelio de hoy, Jesús ha pasado una temporada en territorio pagano lejos de las autoridades religiosas. La gente le trae a Jesús un hombre que era sordo; el hombre había sufrido su vida entera siendo el hazme reír de toda la gente. En tiempos de Jesús, toda enfermedad sufrida por una persona era considerada como un signo de sus faltas, Para Jesús, el hombre era una persona que sufría, y Él quiso hacerla sentir especial por una vez en su vida. Jesús tomo al hombre y lo aparto al lado de la gente. Jesús lo curo no solo como un signo de que Él era el Mesías, pero además como una señal del amor que Dios tiene para cada uno de nosotros.

Mediante sus acciones, Jesús mostraba como ver mas allá de lo que el mundo define como éxito y prosperidad. El Señor nos muestra que la prosperidad verdadera se experimenta en el alma, y jamás en una cuenta bancaria. Con sus actos Jesús nos muestra hoy como la compasión, el amor, y la misericordia divina van más allá de nuestro entendimiento. El Señor nos invita hoy a apartar a esta gente de la muchedumbre, a ensuciar nuestras manos en sus llagas, y a tocar sus lenguas. En otras palabras, el Señor nos invita hoy a ensuciar nuestras manos con sus sufrimientos. San Pedro Claver lo puso de esta forma: “Necesitamos dirigirnos al necesitado con nuestras manos antes de hablarles con nuestros labios.”

Como discípulos de Cristo somos llamados a hacer del reino de Dios una realidad en nuestras vidas. Es nuestra responsabilidad procurar un mundo en donde el pobre pueda recibir las llaves de la oportunidad; un mundo que ofrezca consuelo y sanación para el que sufre; un mundo donde el que tenga hambre y sed de justicia pueda saciarse; un mundo en donde el compasivo sea capaz de encontrar misericordia, un mundo en donde los que trabajan por la paz puedan encontrarla; un mundo en donde el perseguido pueda encontrar descanso.

Pidamos hoy al Señor un corazón capaz de preguntar: “¿Señor, como puedo ayudarte? Un corazón que exclame: “¡Aquí estoy Señor para hacer tu voluntad!”

“Người làm cho kẻ điếc nghe được và người câm nói được.”

Trong đoạn Tin Mừng Hôm nay, Đức Giêsu đã tạm thời lánh mặt các nhà lãnh đạo quyền bính tôn giáo và đi tới vùng đất của dân ngoại. Dân chúng đã đem đến cho Người một người bị điếc, nhưng có thể nói ra một vài âm thanh kỳ lạ; Suốt cả đời ông đã bị người ta cười nhạo. Trong vùng Pa-lét-tin của Đức Giêsu, hễ người nào bị cảnh tật nguyền thì được coi như một kẻ tội lỗi. Còn đối với Đức Giêsu, người đó là một người đang lâm vào cảnh khổ sâu nặng, và Người muốn cho ông được ân huệ đặc biệt lần đầu tiên trong đời ông. Người đã đưa ông ra khỏi đám đông. Đức Giêsu đã chữa người bị điếc không những đây là dấu chỉ Người là Đấng Kitô, mà còn là dấu chỉ tình yêu của Thiên Chúa dành cho mỗi người chúng ta.

Qua những hành động của Người, Đức Giêsu đang chứng tỏ rằng cách nhìn của Người vượt trên những điều mà thế giới công bố là thành công thịnh vượng. Đức Chúa dạy chúng ta rằng sự phồn vinh thực sự nằm ở trong tài khoản của linh hồn, chứ không nằm trong trương mục của nhà băng. Bằng hành động của Người, Hôm nay Đức Giêsu đang tỏ cho chúng ta thấy tình yêu, lòng thương xót, và đức từ bi của Thiên Chúa vượt trên sự hiểu biết của con người chúng ta như thế nào. Như Đức Kitô, chúng ta cần phải dấn thân giúp đỡ những người đang cần chúng ta. Chúng ta phải nhúng đôi tay như Thánh Phêrô Cla-vơ thường hay nói: “Chúng ta phải nói với người nghèo bằng đôi tay của chúng ta trước khi nói với họ bằng đôi môi.”

Là những môn đệ Đức Kitô, chúng ta được mời gọi để làm cho vương quốc của Thiên Chúa trở nên hiện thực trong thế giới của chúng ta. Trách nhiêm của chúng ta là tìm kiếm một thế giới nơi đó những người nghèo có thể nhận được những chìa khóa mở ra những cơ hội; một thế giới mà những người đau khổ có thể tìm thấy niềm an ủi và sự chữa lành ở giữa những người lân cận láng giềng; một thế giới mà những kẻ đói khát điều công chính có thể được no thỏa; một thế giới mà những người từ bi có thể tìm thấy lòng thương xót; một thế giới mà những kẻ xây dựng hòa bình có thể tìm thấy hòa bình; một thế giới mà những người bị ngược đãi có thể tìm được chốn nghỉ ngơi. Hôm nay, chúng ta hãy cầu xin Chúa cho có được một trái tim có thể khẩn cầu: Lậy Chúa, làm sao con có thể giúp Chúa? Một trái tim có thể lớn tiếng la lên: “Lạy Chúa, này con đây, con xin đến thi hành ý Chúa!”

Ngày cuối cùng nhận đơn ghi danh là 15 tháng 8.

Amen En respuesta a la generosidad de Dios Dios Generoso, sabemos que todo lo bueno proviene de Ti, estamos agradecidos por todo lo que Tú nos has dado, ayúdanos a utilizar nuestros talentos y nuestro tiempo para construir Tu Reino, ayúdanos para que po- damos compartir generosamente, de acuerdo con tu voluntad, todas nuestras bendiciones, para que cuando Tú nos llames a Tú casa respondamos como buenos y fieles custodios de Tus dones, Amen. Đáp lại sự quảng Đại của Thiên Chúa Lạy Thiên Chúa Khoan dung, chúng con biết tất cả mọi sự tốt đẹp đều đến từ Ngài, xin nhắc nhở chúng con luôn biết tri ân những gì Ngài đã ban cho chúng con, xin giúp chúng con dùng tài năng của mình để xây dựng vương quốc của Chúa, để chúng con có thể quảng đại chia sẻ tất cả mọi đặc ân Chúa ban cho chúng con theo ý muốn của Chúa, để chúng con có thể được Chúa mời gọi vào nhà của Chúa như những người quản lý tốt và trung thành.Amen.
