8. Holy Gospel Third Sunday of Easter

It is the lord!

After Jesus’ death the disciples had returned to Galilee, to their former trade as fishermen. God’s infinite love and mercy is again at work in today’s passage in the same way that Jesus’ loving approach to Thomas freed him from his doubts during last week’s gospel. Today’s gospel says that this is the third time that they had seen the risen Christ.

Nevertheless, the resurrection had not yet made a sufficient “dent” in their hearts and minds; deep down in their hearts, they still harbored doubts and fears.

Still, Jesus is present there, a companion for His followers in the midst of their everyday occupations. When without noticing it, they came in contact Jesus, their poverty was reversed. Suddenly, they went from emptiness to abundance, from futility to triumph. Jesus already had bread and fish on the fire before the disciples were able to bring something for breakfast. The Lord is always the provider.

And here they are together again, the disciples sharing a meal with the risen Lord, and witnessing Jesus’ healing power, in a communion where mission, faith, and Eucharistic overtones are fully present at Jesus command: “Follow me!” Suddenly, a powerful sense of reconciliation and healing is in the air. A much-needed opportunity to repent from their previous infidelities; an occasion for strengthening, for assuming their roles as leaders of the Christian community. The completeness of the catch, and the significant act of hauling in the fish, are signs of the disciples’ mission.

As we approach the altar of the sacrifice today, let’s go and tell the whole world what the beloved disciple proclaimed that day: “It is the Lord.” Let us proclaim to all people that in the Eucharist, it is our dearest friend the one who is waiting for us to reach the shore!

¡Es el Señor!

Tercer Domingo de Pascua

Estas son las intenciones de oración del Papa Francisco

Intención Universal- Mayo Recemos para que los jóvenes, llamados a una vida plena, descubran en María el estilo de la escucha, la profundidad del discernimiento, la valentía de la fe y la dedicación al servicio.

La misericordia y el amor divinos están hoy nuevamente en marcha en la misma forma en que Jesús libero a Tomas de todas sus dudas la semana pasada. Los discípulos habían regresado a Galilea, a su oficio de pescadores. El Evangelio dice hoy que era esta la tercera vez que habían visto al Señor resucitado. A pesar de esto, la resurrección no había aun dejado una huella aparente en sus vidas y en sus mentes. En lo profundo de sus corazones el miedo y la duda estaban todavía presentes.

Pero a pesar de sus culpas y su pecado, Jesús se hace presente junto a los discípulos en medio de sus ocupaciones cotidianas.

Cuando sin notarlo se acercan a Jesús, su suerte se revierte. De repente pasaron de la carencia a la abundancia, del fracaso al triunfo. Y Jesús tiene pan y peces dorando en el brasero antes de que los discípulos pudieran traer algo para el almuerzo. El Señor será siempre nuestro proveedor.

Y ahí están juntos otra vez, Jesús resucitado con sus discípulos. Comparten de nuevo el pan, y atestiguan el poder sanador del maestro. Elementos eucarísticos, misión, y fe, están de nuevo presentes en el encuentro cuando Jesús dice: ¡Sígueme! De repente, un sentimiento de reconciliación y sanación flota en el aire. Una muy necesitada oportunidad para arrepentirse de sus infidelidades recientes, la ocasión para ser fortalecidos y asumir su rol como líderes de la comunidad cristiana. La abundancia de la pesca, y la significativa acción de capturar los peces, son símbolos de su nueva misión.

Conforme nos acerquemos al altar el día de hoy, imitando lo que el discípulo amado entendió aquel día: ¡Identifiquemos a aquel que está esperándonos al llegar a la orilla, y gritémosle a todo el mundo “Es el Señor!”

CHÍNH CHÚA ĐÓ Sau khi Chúa Giêsu chết, các môn đệ đã trở về Ga-li-lê làm nghề đánh cá trước đây của họ. Tình yêu và lòng thương xót vô hạn của Chúa một lần nữa thể hiện trong đoạn phúc âm hôm nay khi Chúa Giêsu gặp Tôma và đã giúp ông hết những nghi ngờ về Ngài mà phúc âm tuần trước đã kể lại. Phúc âm hôm nay nói rằng đây là lần thứ ba các môn đệ thấy Đấng Kitô Phục Sinh. Mặc dù vậy, sự phục sinh vẫn chưa để lại dấu ấn rõ ràng trong cuộc sống và tâm trí của họ; tận sâu trong tâm hồn họ vẫn còn đó nỗi sợ hãi và nghi ngờ.

Tuy nhiên, Chúa Giêsu vẫn hiện diện ở đó, Ngài làm người bạn đồng hành với các môn đệ trong công việc hằng ngày của họ. Khi họ vô tình tiếp xúc với Chúa Giêsu, vận may của họ bị đảo ngược. Đột nhiên họ đi từ thiếu thành thừa, từ thất bại đến thành công. Chúa Giêsu đã nướng sẵn bánh mì và cá trước khi các môn đệ mang theo thức ăn bữa sáng.

Chúa luôn là người cung cấp cho chúng ta.

Và ở đó, họ lại ở bên nhau, các môn đệ chia sẻ bữa ăn với Chúa Phục Sinh, và chứng kiến quyền năng chữa lành của Ngài, trong sự hiệp thông Thánh Thể, sứ mệnh và đức tin, một lần nữa hiện diện trong cuộc gặp gỡ khi Chúa Giêsu nói: “Hãy theo ta!” Bổng nhiên, một không khí với cảm giác hòa giải và hàn gắn. Một cơ hội rất cần thiết để ăn năn về những lần không chung thủy trước đây của họ; một dịp để củng cố, một cơ hội để đảm nhận vai trò của họ với tư cách là những nhà lãnh đạo của cộng đồng Kitô Giáo. Mức độ hoàn thành của việc đánh bắt và hành động câu cá là là biểu tượng cho sứ mệnh mới của các môn đệ.

Khi chúng ta đến tham dự hy lễ ngày hôm nay, hãy ra đi và nói cho cả thế giới biết điều mà các môn đệ yêu dấu đã tuyên bố vào ngày hôm đó: “Chính Chúa đó”. Chúng ta hãy tuyên xưng với mọi người rằng trong Bí tích Thánh Thể, chính Chúa Giêsu người bạn thân yêu nhất của chúng ta, đang chờ đợi chúng ta!
