Provided the work is undertaken by an accredited installer, a rooftop Solar system is relatively simple to install, requires no additional space and in most cases does not even require any planning consent.

Reliable

Amongst all the renewable energy systems, Solar PV is the only true ‘fit and forget’ technology and requires practically no servicing or maintenance.

Solar panels have been around for over 50 years, and a solar system has no moving parts.

Predictable

There is sufficient historical data available to predict how much daylight will fall on a particular postcode area of Britain. With the Government accepted SAP methodology, we can calculate how much electricity a Solar system will generate in a year and how this translates into savings and income for you.

Efficient

Today’s Solar panels are highly efficient at converting daylight into electricity. All solar panels come with at least 25 years ‘performance guarantee’. This guarantees they will be at least 80% of their day 1 efficiency after 25 years.

Since the Government’s Feed in Tariff (FiT) scheme was introduced in 2010, some 646,281 homes and organisations have installed a total of 5GW of solar by 31st December 2014, according to Dept. of Energy & Climate Change.

An Investment

With efficient and predictable generation, a Solar installation is a safe investment providing long term and Guaranteed returns that are Index Linked and Tax free. Investment returns from solar can be 10-14%. No other investment today can provide this level of Guaranteed, Index Linked and Tax Free returns. And you can cut your CO2 emissions and go green.

A Solar system can provide annual returns of up to 14%.

The returns are Index Linked, Tax Free and Guaranteed for 20 years.

Generous Savings and income:

A 4kW Solar system installed on a South facing roof pitched at between 30°- 45° could generate: Feed In Tariff* (this is paid to you regardless of whether you use any or all of the solar electricity) £640

Export Tariff* (this is paid for 50% of the solar electricity as it is assumed you will use 50% and export 50%)

This translates to annual return of over 14.4% The income from the Feed In tariff and Export tariff is index linked, Tax Free and Guaranteed for 20 years. Solar panels come with a 25 year performance warrantee. *Tariff rates as at 1st February 2015 FiT is 13.88p/unit and export Tariff is 4.77p/unit There are other ways that your Solar system could save you even more money. Excess solar electricity can be diverted to an immersion heater to provide free hot water. Save Energy Save Energy on lighting

It is estimated that lighting accounts for up to 40% of the electricity consumed in a typical home.

Traditional filament light bulbs are cheap to buy but they waste 90-95% of the energy on heat. Low energy Compact Florescent Tubes (CFL) are more efficient than halogen bulbs, but they have a slow start up and are not very bright.

The simplest way to reduce energy on lighting is by replacing all your bulbs with high efficiency LED bulbs.

Saving Energy on heating

Air source heat pumps can extract latent heat from the outside air (even when the temperature outside is down to minus 20°C) and pump it inside to heat indoor spaces, making use of outside air as an infinitely renewable energy resource. Because they consume much less electricity than the heat they generate, heat pumps have significantly lower running costs than traditional energy sources. Air Source Systems can also provide cooling (air conditioning) in the summer.
