The Golden Jubilee Club
The Golden Jubilee Club was organized in September 1982, and chartered February 27, 1983, to recognize and pay tribute to members who have served fifty years or more. This elite group was founded with twentythree charter members by the late Deacon James H. Wimberly. Annual recognition is given at the Church Anniversary Celebration when new members are inducted. A plate, bearing the name of each member of the club and the year he or she joined New Hope Baptist Church, was displayed in the vestibule of the old church, and is presently located on the administrative wing of the new edifice. Sara Redd Troutman Youth Award
The Sara Redd Troutman Youth Award was established in 1985, in memory of the late Sara Redd Troutman, a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Director at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church who unselfishly donated her time to encouraging and educating tomorrow’s leaders. The award is presented each year during the Church Anniversary celebration to an individual who exemplifies Christian principles and values through participation in church ministries and who demonstrates initiative, academic excellence and leadership qualities. The L. L. Jones Educational Scholarship
The L. L. Jones Educational Scholarship, named after a former pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, is available to eligible undergraduate students. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning; submit a letter of good standing from the attending institution on official letterhead; obtain three letters of recommendation; and complete an application.
