postle Ernestine Brown Sherard was born to the parentage of the late Ernest Brown and Jennie Louise Stephens Brown on January 10, 1945, in Macon, Georgia. When Ernestine was 12 years old, she was stricken with Meningitis, leaving her permanently paralyzed. One day, Lilly, an older cousin, came by and prayed for her and told her mother that one day Ernestine would go around praying for people and they, too, would be healed by the Power of God. Ernestine was healed instantly and continued her schooling and love for playing the piano and singing. She graduated from Peter G. Appling High School in 1964. Upon graduation, Ernestine Brown moved to Decatur, Georgia to attend Dekalb County School of Nursing where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1966. She met Christopher Sherard and married him on June 9, 1970, and went on to become the first African-American nurse to integrate Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. During her nursing career, she also worked at Grady Memorial Hospital’s Burn Unit for a period of time. Her Christian journey began at Swift Creek Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia where she served as the church pianist and main soloist. She, her siblings, and her cousins formed a group called the Swift Creek Gospel Singers. Apostle Sherard was the first woman to preach at Swift Creek Baptist Church and she remained a member until she moved to Atlanta in 1964. While in nursing school, she joined Israelite Revival Center, later called Move of God Revival Center, under the late Bishop and Apostle Lewis where she became a local evangelist. In 1985, the Lord spoke to Evangelist Sherard through the late Apostle John Barber and told her to go back to Macon and start a church. Move of God, Macon was established in 1985 on Jeffersonville Road in a two-complex apartment building right across the street from Swift Creek Baptist Church, affectionately known as “The Green Building.” Many people were saved, healed, set free and delivered throughout the years under her ministry. While serving as Pastor of Move of God, Macon, God spoke to Pastor Sherard, and instructed her to change the name of the church from Move of God, Macon to Anointed Nu-Vision Ministries which is presently located on 1220 Hightower Road. In December of 2008, God spoke to Apostle Doris Lewis and revealed that God was calling Pastor Sherard into the Apostleship. On February 20, 2009, Pastor Sherard was ordained as Apostle Sherard by her founding Pastor, Apostle Doris Lewis. Apostle Sherard is the Founder and Presiding Prelate over Anointed Nu-Vision Ministries, Incorporated with three churches: Anointed-Nu-Vision Ministries in Macon, Georgia; Anointed Warriors for Christ Ministries in McDonough, Georgia; and Anointed Faith Believers in Lake Park, Georgia. Apostle Sherard had a love for helping God’s people and would often go without so that others could prosper and be blessed. She was comical, witty, full of wisdom, impartial in the faith with no respect of persons. She also exhibited the nine Fruit of the Spirit daily and walked in tremendous power. Apostle Sherard used to be called “the Weather Stopper” because eyewitnesses have seen her stop tornadoes, and hailstorms through the Power of God. Apostle Sherard has even gone on record for bringing four people back from death through the Power of God. Even in death, she was a giver as an organ donor. She leaves to cherish her legacy, love and memories: a husband, Bishop-Elect Christopher Sherard; two daughters, Prophetess Tiffany (Bishop Theodis) Holmes; Doctor Christina N. Sherard; three grandchildren, Minister Christopher Faulk, Minister Aaron Holmes and Sister Arianna (Brother Raphael) Hayford; one great-granddaughter, Samaria Stanley; three brothers, Pastor Rudene (Irene) Brown and Mr. Benjamin (Kathy) Brown, Sr., and Mr. Bobby Dawson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Her legacy will never die!
Baby, You were my everything. The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew that you were not only my rib, but my God-send, my love, and my prayer partner. You were the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. We were married 46 years and together for 51 years. I cherished each day with you and even now in your physical absence, the love that we shared for more than a half century is what keeps me tied to you and to you only. I honor you. I love you and respect you as my wife and the mother of our children. My mind, heart, and soul will always belong to you. I will spend the rest of my days leading our family in the way that God has commanded because I remember the promise we made to each other on June 9, 1945. Until we meet again my love. Mom, You once told me that it is okay to cry but afterwards, I should pull myself together; put on my best heels; anoint my face; and walk with my head held high. Today, I will do my best to do that amongst the pain I feel in your physical absence. You were my best friend; WE WERE TWINS! Wherever you saw one, you saw the other. I will miss your smile and warm touch the most because you had a away of reassuring me that everything would be okay. Only God knows the depth of my love for you. I am not certain what tomorrow will bring but I know that this world is better because you were here. I will never forget the laughs we shared; late nights on the phone until 2 - and 3 o'clock in the morning, knowing I had to go to work--LOL. You taught me how to be pray; love everyone; be holy yet classy; and to seek God's face for wisdom. You were the epitome of a DIVA and a Queen. What I admired the most about you is your strength and your ability to love God's people. You always taught me: not everyone that I have been there for, would be there for me; but, you said, "Be there for them anyway!" You told me that not everyone that I showed love to would show love to me; but you said, "love them anyway!" Your legacy will live on in my heart and in the hearts of our family, our church and community. You helped so many people and never said a word to anyone about the great things you did. Though I will miss you terribly, you deserve to rest in Jesus. You pushed me to be the best and I will not let you down. Take your rest mommy. There will never be another like you. I will always love you and will guard your legacy with my life! My drive in life is to see you again as you bask in the presence of the Almighty! Your Daughter, Chrissy
