Hello I am Christopher Diaz,
I am a graduate student at California Baptist University with a passion for architecture and design. Raised in Big Bear, California, I gained hands-on construction experience through my family’s small business. A summer internship further shaped my vision for innovative and sustainable design solutions.
As I continue my studies, I’m excited to make a difference in the world of architecture. I want to design buildings that not only look good but also make people’s lives better. Collaborating with others who share my values, I hope to create a future where architecture is a force for positive change.

The design is a blend of nature and architecture, with an angled and staggered layout that follows the rhythms of the landscape to create an environment that fosters a sense of security, calm, and well-being. The facility includes four modules, each thoughtfully designed with mirrored layouts, strategically staggered, and interconnected through a zigzag path, which, when combined with monitored courtyards, creates a dynamic space that offers therapeutic benefits for residents with Alzheimer’s.

The Riverside School of Ecology seeks to create a collaborative school environment that utilizes nature to promote the well-being of students, and through its linear design that stretches along the longitudinal axis, it coincides with the best sun orientation, views, and winds. The thick intersecting wall defines the axis while creating pockets that overlook into outdoor areas. The two distinct linear masses slope on opposite ends to show movement but, more importantly, allow the outside to come indoors.

The Skywell Christian Study Center aims to strengthen the connection between God and the human spirit through holistically ascending the user towards the heavens.
The exterior and interior both express an ascension upwards towards the chapel space where inside you will find a scenic view of pure sky which references when Jesus ascended to the heavens and clouds. Essentially creating curiosity for the non believers and opening them up to Gods beauty.
Acts 1:9, ESV: And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
