We offer parents of babies born within the last year the opportunity to partner with us in Parent Dedication. This partnership begins with 3 Parenting Intensive classes offered on consecutive Sundays, beginning Nov. 9. The Parent Dedication Service will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7. There is so much ahead! Our journeys are an experience we are invited to enter with God; paths we are challenged to walk with Jesus; transformative treks we take by faith responding to God’s grace and truth in Jesus Christ.

The story of the ancient people of God in their Exodus journey, delivered from slavery in Egypt for fulfillment of promise in the land of Canaan, has long been understood by the writers and students of the New Testament to be a picture of the spiritual experience of redemption in Christ.

In our fall series we Journey On together highlighting key movements; themes where the New Testament writers clearly reference the fulfillment of the Old Testament foreshadowing and promise.

This month we continue through Exodus 16-27.

GRACE GRATITUDE go together like

says theologian Karl Barth.

In fact, the word “thanks” in all its varieties (i.e. thanksgiving, thankful, etc) appears over 150 times in the Bible. The command to “give thanks” occurs 33 times. The apostle Paul tells the church of Thessalonica that we do God’s will as we “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

I’ve discovered that giving thanks to God is the voice of faith in my life.

Though I don’t always feel thankful, when I give thanks it not only turns my mind’s attention to God’s goodness and provision, it wakes up my heart and stirs my emotions away from the shadows and into the light! In interpersonal relationships, voicing my gratitude communicates appreciation and respect to others. It’s a way to validate the value of who others are and what they bring to our lives.

If you are looking for an onramp to connect you more closely to God or other people, try voicing your gratitude. There’s a reason, as the psalmist declares, we “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name” (Psalm 100:4).

The Christ Journey Church Kendall Campus is certainly “On The Move” these days as we look ahead to the opportunity of having a permanent facility for our campus.

In October we raised a little more than $200,000 towards our $300,000 goal.

Let’s continue to pray that God will provide the remaining amount and that the transition for the Vineyard church into their new facility will be quick and smooth. As soon as they move into their new building, we will be able to begin the process of our move.
