Our new teaching series explores Paul’s answer in his letter to Christ-followers in Colossae. This small town was a cosmopolitan center of commerce located in modern day Turkey. Its first century life was marked by: fascination with mysticism, astrology, angels and the spirit world; combination of pagan philosophy mixed with Jewish ritual and legalism; and confusion and license in sexual morality, marriage and family life. Designer spirituality was the norm. Sound like a culture familiar to you?

Into this smorgasbord of competing challengers, Paul offers Christ as the Ultimate Contender and secret for their success: “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.” Colossians 2:9-10 This month, find fullness in your life through the Allness-of-God in Christ.

ON THE MOVE! We have been working hard to prepare the new facility in order to celebrate all that God is doing and has done with our campus the last two years. Our hope remains to have a Grand Opening Celebration on Easter Sunday, April 5.

WHY DOES WHAT WE DO AS A CHURCH

MATTER SO MUCH? Well, if Jesus and his early followers were right, the key to human happiness, fulfillment, meaning and purpose, is found in Him and we are here to help others experience it with us.

C. S. Lewis put it like this, “God made us: invented us as a man invents an engine. A car is made to run on gasoline, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. That is why it is just no good asking God to make us happy in our own way without bothering about religion. God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.”

Finding fullness in your life through the allness of God in Christ is the focus of my teaching this month. Come, and as your tank is filled, share it with someone else. Serve. Invite. Make a difference! With Easter on its way, opportunities to help others find fullness are everywhere to be had.

Join in Prayer for our Global Trips Our first team heads to Cuba in April with Pastor Bill White. Christ Journey will host our first Cuban Pastor/Wife Teaching Retreat timed just as Cuba opens up to the U.S. This much needed pastoral teaching retreat is the first of its kind. If you’d like to make a donation to help educate and support Cuban pastors, please email Maricarmen Roca, MaricarmenR@ ChristJourney.org.

Our middle school students will work with partners Karen and Raoul Armbrister on the Island of Grand Bahama. They will spend their spring break serving others in some of the poorest areas of the island.

High Schoolers will travel to Nicaragua and serve alongside partners Chris and Krista Farrington at rescue homes, a school, and community that Christ Journey has been a part of supporting for many years.
