At Christ Journey Church we strive to answer the call of Matthew 25.

“I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me”.

Our partner missions and missionaries are those that provide food for the hungry, clothes for the naked, medical care for the sick, education for the illiterate, shelter for the discarded and the love and hope of Christ for all. You are a vital part of this.

A strong percentage of Christ Journey Church’s operating budget is allocated to support our global and local missions partners. Christ Journey is steadfastly committed to joining the Lord in his work with the least of these.

When you and I give of our tithe, we are supporting our ongoing ministries through the operating budget, our mission efforts, and designated projects. When we give to the ongoing budget lives are changed, ministries are provided for and the gospel is shared.

What a privilege to be a part! This catalogue represent gifts given above and beyond the church’s tithe (firstfruits) and can help accomplish even greater things.

Christ Journey sends short-term mission trips to offer medical and dental care, as well as agricultural, pastoral, and educational training. One hundred and twenty people paid their way and traveled to partner countries to offer of themselves to the least of these. Another 743 served in Miami communities through City Serve.

In the last year we have built buildings, distributed food and provided literacy programs. Christ Journey teams seek to spread God’s love “glocally” through their acts of service.

DREAMS

We asked some of our partners to share a dream for their ministry and this is how they responded:

Florida Baptist Children’s Home, Miami dreams of refurnishing the cottages with new bedroom furniture. This would give a homelike feel to the rooms teenage orphans make their own, helping the teens feel more valued as individuals. The cost to replace the bedroom furniture is $20,000.

Touching Miami with Love dreams of joining Project Cease Fire to deal with the root causes of violence in their overtown community.

The projected cost to develop this program is $100,000.

Apascentai Minhas Ovelhas (Feed my Sheep) in Brazil dreams of providing camps for underprivileged children and teens from the favelas and neighboring communities from five different cities. To build and enhance this important ministry they are in need of: slides, swings, sports equipment, picnic tables and chairs, bedding, sheets, towels, full-time volunteers, covered eating areas, ping pong tables and volleyball nets and balls. The projected cost is $10,000.

Living Hope Haiti Christian Missions dreams of providing local small farmers with a diesel operated corn grinder to improve their standard of living. Each corn grinder costs $8,500.

Fundacion Amor Y Esperanza in Ecuador dreams of purchasing land and then completing a new high school, so they can teach children from day one in day care until they graduate. In the future, they would love to begin a college. The cost of this project is $200,000+.

Open Hearts dreams of building a new school on Nicaraguan land which has been given to them by the Spanish government as they clean up La Chureca (the city dump). Colegio Esperanza has been serving the community for 13 years & they hope to continue to serve these children. The projected cost to build the school is $235,000.

Open Hearts dreams of assisting the Casa Robles rescue home for abused and neglected children by covering all of the food, transportation, educational, and health costs for the children for three months, as well as replace a severely leaking asbestos roof in the boys’ home.

The projected cost is $9,500.

First Baptist Church of Pinar del Rio, Cuba dreams of repairing a dilapidated church to bring more people to Christ.

The projected cost to repair the roof, walls, and windows to provide a better worship experience for the people is $30,000.

Open House in Homestead hopes to purchase a 12-passenger vehicle to safely transport children and youth.

Currently, their staff members use their vehicles to take kids home. The project cost for this vehicle is $30,000.
