EXPECTING

It’s one thing to be 90 years young. It’s another to be 91 and expecting!

Imagine how Sarah and Abraham felt when God told them they would be giving birth! Abe was “about a hundred years old” Paul writes (Rom 4:19), and “Sarah’s womb was also dead.” A more unlikely pair of parents would be hard to find. Yet God had bigger plans for them.

We are not quite 100 yet, but we are expecting to be expecting! We know the Lord wants to keep bringing people into saving relationship with Christ! We know multiplying our multi-sites is the way to facilitate it. So let’s pray boldly and trust God faithfully as He leads us forward together!

How? Abraham shows us. “He did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised” (Romans 4:20).

INVEST INVITE &

Great investments produce great returns. Would you agree? So ask yourself, “Is there an investment that pays a return, let’s say, forever?” Only one does. The investment you make into the life of another that introduces them to Jesus.

Here at Christ Journey Church, we have a simple plan for changing our community one person at a time. It’s called “Invest and Invite.” You invest in a friendship with someone who is far from God, pray for him or her regularly, then invite him or her to church with you. What do you have to lose? More importantly, what do they have to gain? Most people, who make Christ Journey their home, came because of an invitation from somebody like you.

So you do your thing and let God do His. Pick up an invite at any host station, and you’ll have all you need to invest and invite. It may take a few times, but you never know when a “No” will turn into a “Yes.”

Do something crazy in 2017. Invite a friend to church and watch what God will do.
