Sermon Date: Nov. 16, 2014 Sermon Title: Connected
Sermon Text: Exodus 24-27
Introduction
Discussion
The Israelite Journey reveals God’s consistent presence in the lives of His people. He hears their cry, rescues and protects them, and then promises to “journey” with them as they move towards a chosen destination for them. However, he never removes their free-will and therefore gives them the ability to eithe choose Him or to follow their human nature. If they/we choose to be connected to the Holy God it requires us to sacrifice and die to self.
1. Read Luke 9:23-24. What does it mean to die to self? 2. What do you find to be most difficult about fully committing to God? 3. What invitation does the Lord give to Moses and the leaders of Israel in Exodus 24:1? 4. What does it mean to woship and fellowhip? 5. Review and discuss Exodus 24-25. What sacrifices/offerings are described in Exodus 24-25? How does these sacrifices allow us to be connected to God now?
Application 1. Read Romans 12:1-2. If God calls us to be living sacrifices. What can I do to live more sacrificially? 2. How connected do you feel to God? How can your life and prayers reflect your connection with God? 3. Here at Christ Journey, our purpose is to “help people find and follow Christ.” How do you do this in your daily routine? 4. Christ reveals his love to us and we reveal Him to others by sharing that same love. Who have you neglected to share Christ’s love with? Will you pray about sharing God’s love with that person? Let’s Pray!
