Introduction
Discussion
Read the sermon text together. To make it interesting, have each person in the group read 2 verses until the entire passages have been read outloud. The Israelites are now beyond the Red Sea, and a time of testing is upon them. Even though they have already been rescued by God from the hands of the Egyptians -- they are about to face some difficult circumstances that will prepare them for what God has in store. 1. Review Exodus 16:1-9. What is happening in these verses? How did Aaron and Moses respond? 2. Why do you believe God allowed his children go through times of testing? 3. Share something you’ve personally learned while going through a trial?
Application
“Search me, O God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 1. What kinds of thoughts honor God during a time of testing? 2. What is one thing you can do in your “Christ Journey” next time you face a trial or testing in life? 3. What are some ways that you can consiously remember to be thankful for God’s provision?
