It’s a constant theme in the Bible and these past two years have been tough indeed. Following the impact of Covid-19, our churches and communities will never be the same again. So special features, at this, the first CRE in the south west for seven years, will bring targeted resources and encouragement – to help you and your church survive and thrive.

If you are a church leader, officer or member you will find a hall full of new ideas and solutions, presented by seasoned specialists.

Representatives of more than 100 organisations, who deal with issues facing local churches on a daily basis, will discuss your specific concerns about everything from AV equipment to VAT, clergy clothing to computers, parish magazines to musical instruments. A packed programme of 30 free seminars will cover live streaming, church weddings, effective fund-raising, schools work, safeguarding, leadership, mission, evangelism and much more.

It’s been a challenging time for us all. But our prayer is that, as we look back, we will see how a greater good has come from these difficult days and that thousands of churches, far from slackening their efforts, played a strategic role in bringing renewed hope and healing to their communities.

Two in five 18 to 34-yearolds admitted to praying more while one in four visited an online church.* At this critical time, join us for input and encouragement from SWYM (South West Youth Ministries) offering new ideas for effective work with young people.

CHURCH DIGITAL Without good communications even your best-laid plans will falter and fail. This series of seminars, including key subjects like social media and live streaming, a vital part of church life during the pandemic, will help your church adapt and thrive in the digital age.

CHURCH RESILIENT Your church may be among the half (46 per cent) facing a decline in donations during the pandemic. So how do you respond positively to changing patterns of giving in your congregation?

David Saint, of Action Planning, will draw on over 30 years’ experience (including three recessions!) helping churches raise substantial sums for capital projects. Alice O’Brien of Givt, will introduce a unique app that supports churches through giver-focussed giving, without payment terminals or expensive hardware.

CHURCH RURAL Lifestyle changes forced by the pandemic have given rural churches a renewed opportunity to be at the heart of their communities. Growing the Rural Church will be at CRE to help churches plan projects, apply for grants, work with local communities, get help with building maintenance, plan special events and make the most of church festivals.

MISSION ON THE MAP New opportunities in world mission will open up beyond the pandemic – and Mission on the Map, a focused area profiling mission-related opportunities, resources and advice, will help CRE visitors make the most of them. ‘We see the potential for amazing new opportunities that can make a significant difference to God’s kingdom, in the UK and around the world,’ said Mike Frith of OSCAR. Visiting by car - Westpoint is just one mile from junction 30 of the M5, providing direct access from London, Birmingham, Bristol and Plymouth.

Visiting by public transport - Exeter is served by two mainline rail stations and a bus/coach station. Local buses and taxis are available to Westpoint.
