NEW CHICAGO OPERA HOUSE TYPE OPERA HOUSE AND CIVIC CENTER YEAR 2012 LOCATION CHICAGO, ILLINOIS ROLE PROJECT DESIGNER STATUS COMPLETED 2012

The New Chicago Opera House was proposed in response to the perceived role of architecture as icon in the cityscape. The proposal’s site was situated in the previously designed cities of the architecture studio. Prominence was given to the experience of going to the opera in the form of a procession. The crisp clean lines of the facade present a promenade that can be seen from the civic park down to the opera stage. The idea of going to the opera had to also be explored as conditions have changed over the centuries. As a result civic amenities such as shopping areas and a park were added emphasize the change in the role of opera house as icon in the city fabric.

NEW FAYETTEVILLE FIRE STATION TYPE CIVIC FIRE STATION YEAR 2013 LOCATION FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS ROLE LEAD PROJECT DESIGNER STATUS COMPLETED 2013

The New Fayetteville Fire Station was proposed in response to the demands of the ever growing population in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This fire station was designed in way to help integrate the existing context of the site as well as provide multi-use components for the community. The building was to also become an icon for the city of Fayetteville as can be seen through its facade strategy. The facade acts as a ribbon that wraps around and encases the volumetric space housed within. A community garden also sits atop the building and is easily accessed through the sky bridge that connects to the existing parking structure.

YESLER BRANCH LIBRARY TYPE URBAN LIBRARY BUILDING YEAR 2014 LOCATION SEATTLE, WASHINGTON ROLE PROJECT DESIGNER STATUS COMPLETED 2014

The Yesler Branch Library was a project that was to engage the urban realm and also a way to rethink the idea of libraries and civic centers. This proposal took a position in opposition to the traditional library archetype. Suggesting that libraries are places of knowledge and where people go to share ideas. This branch library was meant to become a music hub for learning and the craft of the art. The building also included a cafe and integrated an amphitheater so that patrons may host their own community concerts on weekends or for special occasions. The building capitalizes on views to the existing Seattle skyline and views toward Mount Ranier.

ARCHI - GRAPHIC

TYPE ARCHITECTURAL PUBLICATION YEAR 2015 LOCATION LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM ROLE PROJECT TEAM MEMBER STATUS COMPLETED 2015

Archi-Graphic would become an exploration into the world of diagrams and their ability to illustrate relationships. Engaging in questions seldom asked within architectural culture became a point of fascination. Collaborative efforts were made in discovering relationships between some of the most iconic architects of our time and doing so would provide tactful skills in new ways to present information. From demographics to color theory as it pertained to classical artists, Archi-Graphic serves as an testament to the power of diagram and how it can convey ideas on a multitude of levels.
